  1. If weight isn't good for the Turbo's, then why does nearly every truck have a turbo intercooled engine? Just curious? Edit; Might help to read all the topic, just noticed matsfgxr6turbo's post
  2. And another one....
  3. Definitely a noise camera I've gone past it a couple of times doing 10 or more over and never received a surprise in the mail.
  4. Of 6 XR6's parked on level 7 at Rhodes shopping centre today 5 of them were T's including mine, 2 x BA Blueprint 1 x BF Bionic and an FG Sensation (BKR-50G)

  10. If I can cut the umbilical chord, and my autistic son doesn't turn it on right as I'm about to walk out the door like the last night gong cruise I will be there. Interested to meet you guys and wouldn't mind an open opinion in how bad a state I think my T is in. It just doesn't feel right hopefully I'm paranoid.
  11. Long story short, I have both rides, before the XR8 ute was tuned it would get smashed off the mark by 6T's and the XR8 would catch and pass them not so much with typhoons it would hold on but not get in front, since the tune it will beat stock Typhoon's/GTP's. Keep in mind there isn't much difference with the power of an XR8 vs a Typhoon, the difference is really how that power is deployed. The exhaust mod may be enough for him to run you down. I don't believe he is beating you off the line though... no way ever, otherwise he's lying about a tune
  12. Taken from Car Advice late 2007 NSW to crush hoons’ cars : Car Advice | News | Reviews “The modified, loud and often illegal vehicles confiscated from car hoons will be smashed to pieces in our crash labs, the results filmed and analysed, and the wrecks shown to other young drivers as a warning,” Mr Iemma said. “The RTA [Roads and Traffic Authority] will also use the unique tests to investigate the potential effects of certain modifications on overall crashworthiness and we’ll show the wrecks at education days for young drivers, or at other RTA presentations,” he added. Police Minister David Campbell has added that the footage will also be publicly aired to deter would be offenders from participating in hoon behaviour. “Video footage of these once-prized possessions being turned into splintered, twisted scrap will be the clearest message yet to hoons that we’re serious about stamping out their behaviour and saving lives in the process This link suggests it is a law - Tough new anti-hoon laws for NSW : Car Advice | News | Reviews This is what Iemma wanted to do, don't recall if it was passed, this was pretty much the last I heard on the topic as admittedly never heard of it being enforced. I also remember talk of Victoria doing something similar. I've heard but don't quote that there was talk of confiscating/crushing cars in the UK for simply being uninsured
  13. To answer your question.....Yes it is like that in other states, well NSW anyways, as I.B touched on above our RTA is guilty of similar hoon laws and yes they will crush our vehicles for illegal street racing. Dropping it on take off or driving like a deemed hoon will get you a fine and/or your car impounded for 3 months. I may not be 100% accurate upon the conditions of impounding or crushing but at the end of the day they have that power.
  14. Spotted this arvo XR6T, plates FORDXR at Blakehurst just after 5:00pm on the Princes Hwy
  15. Might help to OPEN the eyes......
  16. Which thursday night?
  17. $50 for Ford to "reset" my system, I'm going to be annoyed if all they did was disconnect the battery. Anyhow now if I turn it off the light is on fulltime and happy days no flickering light and no traction control. Once again thank you for your input.
  18. The purpose isn't to thrash my car or skid so to speak, I just find the TC extremely annoying and it's the first thing I switch off in any car I get into, same as the annoying downhill assist that some cars also have. I called Ford explained the same thing to them and they said sounds like something isn't right and to bring it in. Thanks for clearing that up lads.
  19. Can someone clear something up for me.... I am a little confused by the operation of the traction control or more accurately whether the switch really is actually relevant. I've seen some members say when they are in the mood they turn off their TC and light it up. I personally fail to see how this is possible as when the TC is in theory switched off when I jump on it, TC still comes on trying to save the day. I really wish my sedan was the same as the ute and didn't have it installed period. Is this the case or is my traction control broken? When it is on the light stays on the dash 24/7. When it is off the light is off but as soon as a little wheelspin starts, on it comes. My sedan is BA same as my ute and I noticed the same behaviour in an N/A BF XR6 that I hired while in Perth a couple of years ago.

save you some effort, ditch the factory rotors get some DBA 4000's front and back and you will never feel shudder again. I went the bendix pro pads myself only downside is they claim to be "dustfree".... unfortunately not the case
  21. doesn't matter which tune you load... does it all the same way. don't need to pull any fuses
  22. Just had a chat with the CV boys and they tell me it's a throttle stop. Be very careful with this screw as it is plastic and the temperatures it's exposed to in the engine bay makes it brittle and it breaks easily, therefore it is recommended not to adjust it. It stops the engine getting too many revs and overheating.
  23. Where in Homebush are they meeting?
  24. Lads, I have something similar with the T56, on take off let the clutch out and it's though it wants to stall revs just drop, it's like a delayed response to pushing the accelerator and it decides to go, doesn't matter how much of a squirt you give it. only happens occasionally is there a solenoid for the flyby wire system that might be dirty or failing? I don't think it's my clutch as I haven't noticed it slipping in any gear at any revs
  25. Bionic BA XR6T popped out in front of me on the Kingsway this morning @ Gymea
