  5. I think, after reading another thread on here about this particular car being so cheap, that its been pranged. I can see the XR6 Turbo badging is missing on the RHS of the boot, so theres a fairly good chance its been rear-ended and repaired
  6. Not so sure now that the FG F6 is basically completely superseding it and is better in looks, setup, the works.... I also see from carsales and wiki that the FG F6 has 310kw And yes, the FG F6 does replace the F6 Typhoon, but doesnt specifically say it replaces the R-Spec It does elude to the fact that it has R-Spec-worthy improvements in suspension, especially in the front, so I'd just go with it superseding the BF II F6 Typhoon and the R-Spec. FPV F6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Wish I could afford an FG F6, but Im sure they dont go up in value or are as comfortable to live in as a house!
  7. Cheers Worm. It is brakes, suspension, trim (top spec to leather with matching outer and interior trims as mentioned in this article here: FPV Limited Edition F6 R Spec Typhoon — Fords . com . au - Buy or Sell New and Used Fords. Ford Cars, XR8, XR6, Ford Utes and Ford Vans. So the FG F6 replaces the R-Spec in a way does it? Or does it only replace the BF II F6 Typhoon and not the Typhoon R-Spec. Why would the value hold better though? Cars depreciate the most in their first 2 years on the market. I would though, as an investment, the rarer the model, the less the depreciation. What has given them better dynamics and setup? Its an amazing looking car, that's for sure. The prices Im seeing are way outside what Im looking to spend though, so I wont be going that far. Still need to get a home loan organised too. I think I'll be able to get my hands on one by the end of the year when Ive saved some more cash and their prices have dropped some more. Im in no rush but want to get the perfect one when it comes on the market. Would people go auto or manual? Reasons behind that choice? Cheers Wes
  8. Hey all Looking to get into my first Falcon and Im thinking of stepping up from the initial want of a BF II XR6 T, to the FPV range. Namely an F6 Typhoon. Im hearing different things around the forums though: Such as the prices of the FPV's dropping, thus making them more affordable. More people wanting to sell up to the latest "Coyote" model? (sorry, havent done my research into the FG's too much atm!) Others have their leases running out and thus upgrading. If that's the case, is it worth the upgrade to buy an 07/08 R-Spec over the F6? I really love silver. Id be thinking the lightning strike. The next colour -if the lightning strike isnt available- is the Ego. I was really surprised to see the amount of white BF FPV F6 Typhoon R-Specs on carsales. So, what are everyones thoughts and opinions on this? Cheers Wes
  9. Hmmm but why is that so cheap? Something doesnt work out for me with that price considering the kays on the others for the same price....

  11. Hey everyone Well....Im looking to buy a BF Mk II XR6T. Not sure whether to be chasing a 6 speed auto, or 6 speed manual. I'd like to know the reasons for peoples choices in gbox's. Here are some reasons I see- 6 speed man: a)More fun in wet and dry. b) More control in aforementioned scenarios. c)More control over boost and can feather the clutch when/if needed d) Have heard manuals are more fuel efficient and poss sit at lower revs in 6th compared to auto? (clarification would be good on this point) 6 speed Auto: a)Hard, instant launching b)Laziness- lets be honest here! Its so good not having to be gear changing in peak hour with a heavy clutch (if its needed for your mods) c) Smoothness and the ability for faster gear changes while still accelerating the car forward, compared to manual Any more? If youre experienced in this area with stats and facts, please, for my sake and others, feel free to help us out. If its personal choice - eg: I used to own a 6 speed man, then went back to Auto and regretted it, then that sort of thing I'd love to hear about also and your reasons. How well, in tiptronic mode, does the 6 speed auto control its gear changes? (Ive been driving an 03 Fairmont 4 speed auto and it doesnt inspire confidence in manual mode, so would be interested to hear from people who've gone up to the 6 speed from the 4 speed also. Cheers! Wes

    New Members Thread

Hi all Joined recently after needing a more reliable and fast daily-driver Looking to buy a BF MkII XR6T soon but have been having issues replying to the for sale ads. Have contacted Trent (moderator) but he cant seem to work out why I cant reply to the ads. Are there many/any more for sale currently? Im looking for a lightning strike with leather, full option stereo etc with engine mods too. I can only currently see two ads in the for sale section.... Does anyone know of anyone looking to sell their ride? Im in Perth Cheers Wes
