Hi Mick, I'm now seriously lookign at the edit. Possibly even waiting until APS come out with theirs on 1st March 2005. A lot of talk has been around especially over the past 10-12 weeks regarding the Edit and this is also another way for Ford to not be able to find the extra boost capability. Nothings sits on the current Ford ECM thus almost undedectable especially when you get from 4-6 mappings..... I believe you will get around 310KW (250 RWKW) with 6 mappings from APS for $995.00. That was a previous link I found from APS themselves.....(on this sight).... And with more people doing them, in around month, we should be able to get a better picture of just what this Edit can do..... I am looking at getting around 250 RWKW and saving some fuel.....nothing more.... dutchie

Geea, would love to come on Saturday but we are off to Werribee.......Claudine's uncle is on deathbed so not too good.........bloody cancer........that's family member number 5 in 3 years on Claudine's side.........(not good!!!!) I would agree with Henry........I've had my T for just on 5 months and only had overboost 3-4 times........mainly when it was cold in the morning....... My father has a new Audi Turbo worth $80K and he constantly gets overboost as well......... Seems this is a common problem with Turbos these days......... dutchie

Only thing that does concern me a little is proven time results........with Xede and Unichip, they have been around a long time......that does not mean that I'm already knocking the others, its just their experience must count for something......... dutchie

For what it's worth, here is my two bob.......... It's a bit like life really..........you meet various people in passing...some you like other that you dont.......you simply dont speak to the ones you dont like.........same should apply hear...... I would agree with Geea on this.........get over it......... I still thoroughly enjoy this site (albeit, that I dont get on often anymore)..... I have had (luckily) the occassional overboost 4-5 times in 6 months.........when its rather cold. The car is a June 2004 build. (cross fingures) nothing else has gone wrong...... My father has just purchasee a new Audi S4 Turbo........and guess what.............he looses power, overboost, wastegate etc.......... I will keep you posted on how Audi fixes the problem........ I would also agree that there are many more T owners (like myself) who have not had any problems and if so, FMC has had them fixed....... Its just that we are a silent mob and dont let it be known that our T's are a godsend..!!! dutchie

Good to get so many replies.............sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones and I live in Melbourne.........with just the odd overboost............. Lets hope Ford do finally have the answer. As I mentioned this came directly to my New Car Questionnaire and my only fault on the car.....the odd overboost (wastegate error)......... I'll keep you informed but remember to all contact your Ford dealers around mid December...... cheers dutchie

I received a phone call from Ford today regarding my questionnaire after purchasing my new car back in end of June and I mentioned that I get the occassional overboost and it seems the Wastegate remains closed for about 2 seconds until I take foor of the pedal and then lightly reapply. I mentioned I only get this when it is really cold in the morning or late at night. Although this has only occured about 5-6 times in the past 4 months, its no real big deal at this stage. The service rep mentioned that I should contact my dealer service department in about 6 weeks time as the fix has been identified. He confirmed that Ford recognise this fault and their testing confirmed what I said above. He mentioned that the fix will rectify it as well as give me better performance. Although he did not mention what the details of the fix were, he said I will be extremely happy with the fix. (under warranty)...... So this is good news I think....... dutchie

Well done to Barrie and to all who turned up........initial number was 19 but 4 dropped of due to prior engagements........ Boy, did we get some looks including those dickheads who drive Holdens....... Did I just say dickheads.........oppppps never swore before....... Great day and special thanks to Barrie, even Jen for making it back to Geelong and the happy chappies in the Citric XR6T who along with Aly and myself gave the cars a squirt on the way down....
