  1. I have had the CAPA Edit installed last week and today get the occassional ping. Could this be a result of bad tank of petrol?? I use Shell Optimax............that's all the car has had since I bought her new in June last year. I also had the plugs regapped this morning to .9 mm because she was surging a bit...... and the occassional ping happened after that........only happens occassionally when I try and floor her........ Any comments? cheers in advance.........
  2. Standard gap..........you think to regap them to 0.9mm might do the trick.?
  3. Your in Melbourne. There a number of reputable tuners down there. Why not give Dynowog a call. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks jetute, but it was already tuned at Autotechnique yesterday.....it just happened after my little play with the mud. I might get Mario to test it again....... Anyone one lese care to comment........??
  4. After my little near miss where the car ended up on the medium strip covered in mud, the car seems to be having breathing probs (well it seems like a surging effect) I dont plant the foot fully but something doesnt feel quiet right. Ford put the car on the hoist to see if any damage was done, and luckily nothing underneath at least. Is it my imagination cause I've only had the Edit for 1 day?? Any advise wlecome please.......
  5. I was on the medium strip just after the 2nd round-about Western Port Hwy just before Ballarto Rd......... Why, did you see me this afternoon.......around 4.00pm? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A mate of mine was telling me about it earlier. What colour is your car I think he said the car was phantom not to sure. He had a good laugh about it. Hope the car is ok EDIT. just on the phone to him he said it was about 4 yeh and he said the car was blue (guessing blueprint), is that yours? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, that was me...........limped it to freeway Ford.........they hosed it down, put it on the hoist and then they took it for a test drive..........thanks god all was good and no damage done other then a great big stain in my pants..........lucky for me the medium strip was reasonably flat, no trees or poles....just a lot of water and mud..... I think it looked worse cause of the mud everwhere.......2 car washes later...... I better be extra careful in the wet me thinks........

  7. Just curious... I just been edited by Mario (Autotechnique) and he managed 242 RWKW from his dyno at 11 PSI. As CHIPS and MissAly have both mentioned, the good news is that his dyno is around 20kws less then anyone alse...... So I was wondering, does this then give me around 262 RWKW? And finally, what is everyone elses boost sitting on? thanks in advance...... dutchie PS I have standard injectors, BMC Filter, Centre Muffler Removed, Dual 2.5" stainless steel pipes and MagnaFlow 2.5" stainless steel exhaust tips.....all on SSS..
  8. CSI, Can you explain further please?????.........whats a loud pedal??? cheers bud....
  9. Yep, its taken a while and with all the bills out of the way, car was booked in at Mario's (Autotechnique) today and after numerous runs, taking into the account the following: - Centre Muffler Removed... - Mendrel Bent dual 2 1/2" stainless steel pipes, - Dual Magna Flow stainless Steel 2 1/2" exhaust tips - BMC Filter Map 1 - Boost set to 11 PSI, car got 242 RWKW's from Mario's dyno. Remembering that his dyno runs about 12-15rwkw lower then any other...so this is also a good thing....I should get around 12-12.5 litres per 100 kms on this... So I'm very happy with that...... My 2nd Map was tuned for standard unleaded (just incase we get stranded somewhere) and fuel economy and we managed 229 RWKW. I should get possible around 11 litres per 100 kms on this map. Both maps are using the standard injectors. Overall the auto trans was made a little harder and really less noticable when taking off......car feels totally different..........I almost totally lost it round a round about and ended up in the median strip covered in mud. Quickly took it too Freeway Ford and they checked eveything....thankfully no damage done. A very big thankyou to Mario for his hard efforts, patience and amazing work. Also special mention to Brian (Bri Bri) for his endless efforts in convincing me to go the edit even when everyone else was going the Xede... Cant wipe the smile off my face but also nervous at the power of the car.. I really enjoy the BOV now too......... dutchie
  10. Well, my nightmare has come to bloody fruitition....... Some bas*ard used a screw driver to pinch my original FPV badge with the Falcon on it and at the same time bloody damaged the car......on the boot.... Took over 2 hours to paint, cut and polish it........thank god it was only a small area......size of your hand...... Rather then buy another badge, I placed a FPV sticker that I reduced in size and it looks fine........still pissed off though and I dont know where the damage occured......shopping, mates place.......dont know........
  11. Hi Deano, I can only speak on behalf of some of my mates including Bri Bri and Ali...... I know that both of them are aabsolutely rapt with Mario and he seems to know his stuff. My car is going in during the week to get the works done as well and have no problems going to Mario. Just for your info, he is good mates with Simon and was recommended to me by Simon (from Nizpro)..... We have also had several dyno days there with large turnouts (30 cars) and am arranging another one in a couple of weeks with another club I'm involved with. Mario has already done some stuff to my car over the past few months and is both professional, as well a gentleman. I would rate him highly so hope this helps you in anyway....... dutchie

    Capa Edit

Thinking about getting the Edit for my T especially since my fuel rate has gone up after taking the centre muffler out and replacing ti with dual 2 1/2" stainless Steel pipes. Sound it awesome but I did get some power gain but my fuel average jumped up from 14 litres to 15 .8.... Is this common and if so, what fuel can I get from an Edit set to power but also fuel efficiancy? Also I thought that by removing the centre muffler restriction I would get another 50-60 kms out of a full tank? Confused dutchie
  15. Put the Clan down at this stage Rob..... cheers dutchie
  16. I would look at Shell Optimax...... Never a problem and seems to be good fuel as well. Heaps of Shell as well..... dutchie
  17. Just go and read my thread and see what some T owners think of there beast. keep smiling and safe driving........... dutchie
  18. Gee , what fantastic comments and good feedback. Especially from people who have been unsure before taking the plunge and buying one. Yep, must agree with everyone post, it simply is a brilliant car. Thanks for everyones posts too. Good to see some positive stuff on the site for once. Go the T's !!! dutchie
  19. Over the past 12 months I have read with interest the number of people complaining about the T's.... Problem after problem, all other brand cars are better etc etc......... Well after purchasing and owning around 9 new cars in the past 20 years, I find that the XR6 Turbos are a fantastic car. Sure, people have problems and issues, but I have hardly seen a positive response from anyone for a long time. Well this is my post bragging how wonderful I think the car is. Perhaps I've been lucky and not had any issues, but overall after 10 months, I still cant wipe the smile off my face. Especially after taking the center muffler out and replacing it with dual 2 1/2" stainless steel pipes........ Car sounds awesome, bit loud sometimes, but gee she sounds sweet. Cant wait to get the edit done now. After installing the twin pod gauges, tinting the windows, installing 2 pro alarms, etc etc I feel I have a dream car that I am very proud of. I also know that many friends who also own the T are likewise more than happy with their beast. Anyway, just thought I would post a positive post about my beast. dutchie A proud XR6T owner
  20. Ummma I'm telling a president from another car club...........dammm Looks like a certain sponsor might not sponsor that club now because of you!!! damn !!!! dutchie
  21. After hearing Anthony's exhaust on the weekend, I thought it only fitting to start making a few mods on the car. Removed the center muffler and replaced it with dual mendrel bent 2 1/2 stainless steel pipes. Completed by Dandy Exhaust Centre. Great job done by Viney.... Apparently I should get around 50-60kms more on a tank as well as around 10% more power with the muffler restriction taken off. Great note too...... dutchie

  24. Macka, Mine is still stock for another 4 weeks before I go the Edit...... The car as you know is Sedan, SSS.......am currently doing around 14.3 per 100 kms as per trip computer although it was around 13 before my 15K service....... Car has now done 18K....... Am hoping to try and get it around 11-12 when I go the edit........ As you know I dont drive it like Ms Daisy but am also not hard on it and give it the occassional one or two squirts each drive........then remainder stick to 100kms...... hope this helps dutchie

    Dyno Day

What a fantastic day with nearly 30 getting their dyno's read as well as heaps of members buying sausages and drinks with the proceeds going to a special member of the site who child is very ill. A great many thanks to Mario who offered his awesome workshop......its been a long time since I saw a workshop so bloody clean, you could eat off the floor..... Serious though......everything was professionally run, orderelly fashion and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Funny how the Expensive Daewoo crew quickly disappearred as soon as the big boys came out with the real toys...... Anyway, many thanks and look forward to catching up at the next cruise. dutchie PS Only 4 weeks to go before I go the Edit !!!!! that's 28 more sleeps........
