  1. yeah too quiet though haha hmmm I see doesnt look I'll be modifying it as tempting as it is then if the turbine and flapper are not seperated in the housing water/meth is great! picked up 10rwkw up top straight off the bat without tuning, and when tuned had a bit more up top and around 30rwkw more through almost all the entire rev range when boost comes on. good piece of kit
  2. Factory GT35/40.. fair enough then I coulda sworn they were seperate hmm that wont be any good then haha Yeah it's all fine was done by bruce heinrich performance in lonsdale SA and makes 272rwkw on 10psi with a 3k stally, correct all NA computer etc remapped with capa X3
  3. sounds ok to me anyway can people answer my question about the overboost?
  4. the turbo I had was seperate because I remember the gasket off the rear housing had a bit going through the middle.. and the dump pipe had a bridge in between that lined up I understand it wont make it go any quicker but it's so quiet at the moment.. have a 3" straight through exhaust with 2 mufflers but dont want to take one out because it will drone so bad.. love the sound of a screamer on boost someone told me it will overboost but I thought the overboost comes from no restriction being on the rear of the turbine itself not the wastgate flap that opens and dumps the excess into the exhaust anyone confirm?
  5. I have a BA futura that's been converted to turbo running on 10psi that uses a bleed valve as boost control and has been tuned with a x3 It has a pacemaker 3.5" split dump pipe and I was wondering if I modify the split part that comes off the wastegate and dump it to atmosphere, will it affect the boost control/tune? ie will the car run normal.. and when will the gas startexiting that wastegate? when boost gets close to 10psi? thanks
  6. has anyone here fitted a 20% underdrive pulley kit to their xr6 turbo? and what results did they get? a 10rwkw gain is claimed for NA and turbo engines but have not seen one done on a turbo motor. I understand this is probably because it's seen as a small gain for the money which could be better spent elsewhere since my car is an xt that I've put the turbo bits on, I want to get the most out of it without taking the boost past 10psi which would stress the engine too much
  7. sounds like it would very difficult as an NA conversion.. there a few xr6 turbos with injected lpg systems getting about though
  8. need the bolts to sell with it.. wont be selling if no one is interested eh havnt had any replies on 3 forums
  9. ah I see I was under the impression they were just bolts and not studs with a nut on one end
  10. thanks but how come they need nuts? the turbo housing is threaded should I put some on when they come through?
  11. Wondering what size the 5 bolts are that join the dump pipe to the rear of the turbo housing. need some replacement ones and dont have the originals, thanks
  12. 5-6k not really that expensive considering I paid 8.5k for my car anyway when I first got it.. sure the costs of bits and pieces getting it where I want add up but it's done over time and I dont owe money on it goin for low-mid 200's for now.. I have injectors, fuel pump and valve springs but would need a gearbox rebuild to hold over mid 200's. also has the xr6t diff and axles final goal between 270-290rwkw still on the standard bottom end was going to install the turbo gear I have but I put it up for sale.. want to do something different needs to sell first..
  13. here in SA, pod filters are illegal in the eyes of the cops, but they will pass a roadworthy as long as they are secured (dont even have to be enclosed)
  14. if I wanted a goal over 350rwkw I'd try get it it in a car that could put it down easier.. say an r32 gtr haha
