  2. After I start the turbo I have a click which is synchronous with the speed the engine is revving. After driving for a short time the click is indiscernable unless we slow down in a narrow fenced lane or something similar. has anybody else had this problem? Was told it was tappet noise due to slightly low oil level by the dealer but it came back extremely quickly after a top up. Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated! Cheers guys
  3. Yeh twin turbo's can be a bit of a handful, but if done properly can give you really nice low-down boost off the line! Just make sure all is good with the engine first though... VL's are what, around 18 yrs old now???? You dont wanna have an expensive setup and run into problems.... anyway good luck with it all. Rahib (?) do drag VL's I think, maybe you could ring them. Their movies are always on overboost.com
  4. Thanks heaps for your inspiration guys! Seriously considering the added intake to our car very soon. Mainline, that boost gauge, looks awesome in my opinion, and classy too! (First boost gauge ive seen which lacks rice factor). May do some engine work in future, so a boost gauge would be handy, and I was wondering if ya could give us a pic from the drivers seat? Just to see what view of it you'd get while your driving? Would be much appreciated. Cheers - Psi_guy
  5. Count me in. 4 people, one car. 'Julza' from the forum will be accompanying me. But I can only come on Friday, due to prior commitments on the long weekend. Thanks and get set guys!
  6. CJF077: May 12 2003, 08:11 AM & 11:33 AM Cheers much appreciated your a good man Chris! I think we all need as much help as we can get with this new beast! btw, forgot to ask, are u getting the dump on gear changes? like in SSS? wbs thanks again! Ben
  7. Congrats mate! Your like a pioneer to us! lol Have you got it set up plumbback or straight to the air? If you've got it to the air are you putting a filter on it? and did you install it yourself?? A GFB in melb I wonder??? I'll go back and check out the link. write back soon - Cheers! Ben
  8. Have to agree. You think it's dangerous -> don't do it! Bummer that the Utes don't have T/C though. Do you ever get sideways when you carry loads? Wet or not?
  9. Drivin my turbo the other nite, in Adelaide at the moment, came up to this weird intersection and almost ran a red light. full force on the brakes and beautifully quick stop from around 60. Standard brakes, no problems so far. Done fine so far - going for a run at Caulder soon - maybe this'll test em out....
  10. haha that's sounds awesome. just shove the temp down on the aircon and hang on. :D Like a boost switch! haha nah seriously the article would be awesome if u could find it.
  11. hey guys saw a blue Turbo yesterday , noticed something different . was in my other car (not a ford) so pulled over and jumped out. This guy had the norm " XR6 TURBO" on the boot but then on the side skirts where it says "XR6" he had put turbo badges above them, but had spaced out the letters further than the ones on the boot. He had also put the boot configuration just below his side indicators. Side skirts look fairly good, but in my opinion the car was over-badged and looked a bit wanky. Why must we rice our muscle? I guess each to his own. for those of thinking of doing this, doesnt look to bad. But the thrill of the turbo comes from your right foot, not a $20.00 sticker in an 'un-stock' position. right? but I would really like to put a couple of TINY FPV badges under the indicators - whoever suggest that, good one P.s. still haven't got my turbo badge and it's three weeks since the dealer said I would have it. They reckon this week. We'll see......
  12. here here DZ! I still dont like the w@nkers that try to suggest their car is something it is not..... I myself am waiting on a badge though, as they ran out apparently..... only one week to go. So if you see an XR6 around Melb, it just may be my turbo in a temporary disguise! Beware!! As for the starter button, not to hard to rig up, nor to expensive..... kinda cool in some ways but novelties do wear off in the end it's just extra effort and another step into turning a refined muscle car into a tuned up ricer.... just my thoughts. :D
  13. lol no worries mate. interesting product. What sorta increase in performance are we lookin at? and any posssible ECU conflicts?
  14. Haha nice one congrats 2 you mate! As for the rest of you guys, good luck! got my baby and already done 200 in a coupla days
  15. Thanks for the replies guys, and cheers for the pics Chris! Would it be worth waiting for the airfilter specifically designed for the turbo to come out? Did they have to modify the Late model camira one at all? As well, have you had any trouble with the auto gear box at all, in sequential mode or anything? I read some where that Ford is have some trouble with the xr8 and the auto and are in re-development not sure if true but if your car Chris is around 40Kw above standard with the auto wouldn't it have some trouble if the xr8 is? not sure if I've read right but can anyone comment on this?
  16. Hey guys, just wondering if anyones put an new air filter in their turbo, and if they have, whats the increase in performance like? CJF077, read your signature just before and saw you've put a K&N in. How many more kW's and Nm's have you got? Have you had any problems (ECU, etc)? If you've got em, some dyno read outs would be nice! (NB: Got my baby yesterday and have begun running her in!)
  17. Hmmm, I agree with Raptor, 'Predator' sounds nice, very nice. Why not resurect this baby and badge an it the "Predator" - like they've done with the GT name. a forced induction 6cyl engine called the "FPV PREDATOR" mmmm, sound good, don't it!?
  18. Haha yeh I reckon! Good luck mate! But guess what guys..... originial 10th FEB delivery date.... *RING RING* :phone: "Hello?" "Hello, how would you like a silver sports car sometime this week?" (*sound of fainting body hitting floor*) Well, pretty much! My baby has finally arrived and yes, PREMATURELY, but is fine & currrently being nutured(? lol) by the dealership! Just waiting to pick her up! :D  Couldn't be happier!!!!!!! :D
  19. some how the picture didnt come through - sorry.... here it is:
  20. Nah it is smaller, and has grooves for your hand, whereas the stock wheel has no grooves and is bigger ( I think same size as the rest of the range -> anyone correct me here? ) I've attached an editted photo of the one above (all thanks due to #00 Lowdnes & FordForums) with highlights of the main vissible grooves.
  21. Heres the difference between the three: Standard - Leather clad, all one colour, your basic stock wheel Momo - Same shape and size as standard, just with perforated coloured leather and a "MOMO" branding Sports - Smaller wheel, slightly better control, moulded grips and (I think) slightly different shades of grey Don't bother with the momo, its just a jazzed up standard. If you dont like the stock wheel, opt for the sports.
  22. Or as cheap, MrSparkle!
  23. mikeford, go the leather mate. If you got kids, its easier to keep clean (like Mondie said). And it looks a hell of a lot better than the cloth. I plan to worship my car when I get it, and see rubbing oil into those warm charcoal seats as a pleasure, not a chore. It will also give you more resale value in the future. The 18's look the part, and don't get me wrong I love them. Much rather them over the 17's, they just suit this car better. But theres the money factor, ya see? - The actual tyre is no bigger in diametre or width than the 17's, its actually only the rim. The tyres are different of course, lower profile to fit with the rims. Most of us can't tell the difference in performance really, so whats the point? At the end of the day, the tyres are an ongoing cost, and low profile performance ones to fit 18's aint cheap! If you must go cloth, may I suggest u get the Plexis Grey & Carbon. I reckon it looks the best & most classy outta all the cloth seats. Both choices are pretty much based on look - so will it be interior for all your mates 2 see, or exterior for all to see? I was also faced by the same choice as you, and at the end of the day, I picked leather.
  24. Hey Superoo! Nah it wasn't a fleet purchase. Which makes me more worried about the so called '10th FEB' date. The dealership had ordered it for themselves already, when I ordered it. I just added on the options and they said they'd handle the rest. But I dont think it was actually in production yet. And it won't be until the 14th obviously. I sure hope they stick to their date...... for all of us! :( good luck, boys
  25. CJF, thanks for the pics mate! That Acid Rush from City Ford (first pic) Is that the one with the mod'ed exhaust the manager drives you were speaking of in another thread? And hows your exhaust going for you? Would u recommend us other Turboers make such an investment? And has it voided your waranty?
