    Rear Brembos

G,day all, I am currently in the process of buying gear for my g6et before it is delivered and before I pay for the 6 piston and 4 piston brembo kit I was wondering if I choose to throw slick or street radial on the rear wheels will I have trouble because of the brakes. I know there are not many rims that will fit over them but does the mt range have 19's that come fitted with there slicks that shall? If not I might be inclined to order the front kit only as track work is an aim for the car as I am new to the scene and have not ever had a chance. A lot of people have said the front's alone would be fine but I am only 30 mins away from the great ocean road and plan to cruise along there every chance I get. Regards J
  3. Has anybody got lsd for there g6et yet? If so how did they go about it and how much did it cost?
  4. fpv badges look tacky on non fpv models that's just my opinion deleted badges on there own add a way better touch to the g6et and xr6t model's..
  5. ouch! pretty pricey and adding the cost of spraying it as well...
  6. anyone know how to go about getting one seen a few xr6t's and f6's with them?
  7. the flash tune will eat most of that grand so try save some more you can get alot of power out of the fg engine another ten grand should see it well into the 400rwkw mark.
  8. I heard around 450rwkw and anything over you should but Im not that sure..
  9. yer thanks guys I thought the bottom ends could take it? does atomic do a bottom end for the fg yet? and yer high 10's would be awesome as it is just a streeter not a full strip car and ten or elevens not along where quick. anyway guys thanks for posting ill let you know how I go when its under way
  10. G'day guys thank for your input and ill contact you to discuss rapid I've heard good things and your g6et is very nice last thing I heard you had swapped the turbo have you got it down the strip yet? It's going to be my daily driver and mainly a street car but I still want to be able to take it down to the strip chuck on some street radials and go for mid to low 11's. Money or warranty isn't an issue not saying I'm willing to throw 30 odd grand into the engine alone but I have already ordered my brembos and wheels and organized suspension to be done through family so the rest can be spent on the engine hoping to only spend 10g but expecting to be hit for 15g and still would be happy. I am aiming for 400rwkw but 450rwkw would be awesome, but also want a reliable engine to. Knowing that the stock zf wont last for ever I have put away some cash to have it prepared for the extra power. I don't want an engine re-build and would like to run it with stock internals for as long as possible. As from what I have gathered from other fg builds and projects aiming for 400rwkw+ no engine rebuild is necessary but anything over 500rwkw+ and your heading towards it. Later down the track I will look into a engine build but for now I am happy with the power I stated above. Ill pm you rapid for a ruff price range but still any idea's would be helpful of maybe some insight into your turbo swap and how much it cost, negatives, positives and so forth as I am fairly new to the turbo world but still have gathered my fair share of knowledge over the last year but have learned a lot of the people on here. regards
  11. yer true why lie just a thought and I don't worked at the Geelong plant for years and all our family has received the discount I was just surprised they haven't asked yet I guess when I go in to do the final paper work it will come up..
  12. Anyone got any ideas for a good after market turbo for an fg xr6t? Someone suggested a precision? I had never heard of one but aperentlly they are pretty good anyway if anyone out there has changed the stock turbo from the fg let us know. Regards
  13. All good mate check the time of my post I was drunk from xmas break up and a little cranky aswell but thanks for the info mate I am learning but I love my fords to and have just ordered my first so Im willing to learn so thanks mate.. Have a good xmas guys and drive safe hopefully santa's sacks is filled with some goodies for your rides maybe a set of brembo's if you have been good ehehheeh
  14. awesome
  15. And as it seems a few people not just on here and the new dealer I'm going through have had this done if your willing to order in the fpv rims. Just had to find the right dealer willing to go that extra mile for the sale.. And I'm glad I made such a stupid post as I have know gained some knowledge which I can pass on and retain and also have been contacted by another member who can supply the 6 pot and 4 pot front and rear's for a awesome price which fits my budget and another has kindly given me a list of wheels he has known to fit over the brembo's not just fpv so that will also send me in the right direction next year.. And next time you read a post of mine and as you will find there usually in the asking a question range just ignore it as you will find they me be a little stupid but I guess at some stage we were all there true? I'm slowly learning and I have found that 99% of people on here answer with great knowledge and attitude so thanks guys merry xmas and drive safe..
  16. Ouch!! Sorry mate you see I have only been seriously into the car scene for a little over a year now and where not born with the knowledge of brembo's so at some stage in out life's we ask or are taught about such subjects and then we retain this information. Considering I thought everyone on here was here to learn or talk in a friendly place I thought I would ask so sorry for doing so ill wait till someone bring the subject to save coping stick as I don't know or claim to be very educated in all things in the car scene. but to the rest of you that answered thanks I have learn;t from it and walked away with what I came on here from the first place... ANSWERS!!! so chill with the ego dude I'm in my early twenties and have no mates into cars only my dad who brought me up on old cars and he ain't here no more so RELAX
  17. 38k fully optioned drive away for zf best way to do it is not mention your ford discount get them down then tell them you apply for the discount, if they try and change the price say maybe another dealer would be better to go through they may at the time let you walk but if they have your number from when you called to make an appointment they should call back. Don't let them trick you into believing there your mates or anything like that they don't give a hoot if they suck you dry so treat them like they would you and do the same.... Take em for everything they got I also was quoted around 60k on road for a brand new f6 with the discount and 44k for a g6et not optioned but with the brembo's, leather interior, zf and sat nav the f6 came to b e in the 70k mark pretty good considering some of you guys paid close to 55k for a manual xr6t. Try using the discount even if you don't have it I ordered my f6 a few months ago and they were not building any till mid jan (which didn't bother me 2010 model always better) but recently changed my order to a xr6t as the money I will be saving and the money I already have would be better spent on the xr6t and they still haven't asked for proof of the discount and have written up the quote and will be building next year. Im sure they will hit me up for it but if they went this far with out and you didn't have it im sure they would let the few grand slide instead of turning you back and not making any money and having another car in there yard trying to sell..
  18. G'day all, Just wondering if anyone talked there dealer into throwing a pair of brembo's into the deal when they bought there g6et? If so how much did you pay and who did you go about it I asked about it but the dealer I was going through was real knob and just said that only fpv's could be optioned with them. But I dont see the problem if yours is getting built and your willing to pay..
  19. ah ok close to stock though, will be def one to keep an eye on in the future and with that bigger turbo would be a good feeling knowing you would leave any stock f6 behind. Will be interesting to see how much more power the stock zf will take before that goes and what more needs to be done before its running tens but mid 11's anyone would be happy with that. Good luck with the car mate sounds like you know your stuff, It shows the fg barra is def the best engine Australian motoring has built to date and a new era of awesome cars are due to follow. FORD ROCKS
  20. you guys do tunes yer as well as making your own intercoolers ect? Did you do the lsd do yourself? what sort of price we looking at I am very tempted to go the g6et they just look so nice and the interior rocks I just didn't like the fact of the one wheel spin. I am fan of the dark blue and there aint many around your silver with black rims look awesome and haven seen anything like it but that's your thing wouldn't want to many people copying considering modified g6et are rare enough as it is. Would be awesome to see one appear in street fords I guess you could say with the bigger turbo your baby would leave any stock f6 behind that's gotta be a cool feeling. I wonder how much more the stock zf could take before that needs to be strengthened in the write up about the fastest fg (white f6 in street fords) they had to to change it up pretty early on, would also be interesting to see how much the stock internals could handle to. I wouldn't personally try to push it as anything under mid 11's would leave me happy or anywhere in the tens but I guess it's only a matter of time before someone with pockets that touch the ground and a love for pushing the limit goes out there and well push's the limit on the fg barra. What an awesome engine and a great step forward for Australian motoring, easily the best oz engine built to date. FORD ROCKS!!!
  21. sounds nice mate have you had a run with the new t down the quarter yet I was reading stock you were pulling mid 12's what are you expecting now some street radials would help your launch heaps.
  22. what a buy mate there are guys out there floggin ba phoons for a few g less u really did get a bargain and such low k's good work mate
  23. ah serious that's all good then how much are you quoting at getting lsd? and what after market turbo did you throw on mate it sounds like it will be an awesome ride
  24. that things nice you and rap1d def have the nicest g6et's going around the silver with black rims looks so tuff and yours is just so smooth makes me wanna get one over the xr6t but dont know if I could really put up with one wheels burn outs.. good works boys
  25. The color coding suits the grills and everything else looks tuff as for a luxury model I rekon blue is the only color the original grills suit. good work mate
