Does the premium ICC have a 6 stacker? I thought that the teir was: Standard = single stack. B/W screen. Prestige = 6 stacker + colour screen. Premium = 6 stacker + colour screen + Sub + Amp. Premium ICC = 6 stacker + colour screen(better than premium) + Sub + Amp + Internal Climate Control. Is this right???

Hey nighteve, I am not currently with AAMI but I got a quote off them the other week and they were pretty nice(except they won't insure me for an XR8 or XRT until I'm 30 and they won't insure me for even an XR6 N/A until I turn 25!). I got the quote sent out and there was an info book that came with it. I love the terms and conditions!

Jun 03 XR8 ex-demo purchased late march 04. Problem/s Resolution 1st visit - 7800kms Oil leak: Resealed whole engine block. ssh ssh noise: No noise audible on inspection Power steering contaminated: Advised it was normal wear and tear **Oil leak still evident after visit, 'ssh ssh' noise definatly there! 2nd visit Oil leak: Replaced 'rocker gasket cover' and resealed engine(again) ssh ssh: Told noise was within tolerable levels and was wear and tear. Charged $42 to tighten handbrake shoes. **ssh ssh problem not resolved, now worse. 3rd visit ssh ssh noise: Retightened handbrake **still didn't work. 4th visit Car not starting everytime: Told there was nothing wrong, could be the way I'm starting it??? I drive an Auto. ssh ssh: Tightened handbrake again. 5th visit Starting problem still there: reflashed ecu, advised there is nothing wrong even though the guy from the service department took 3 goes to start the car. ssh ssh: Tightened handbrake again. 15000km service at different dealership(RATTS Dealership). Great service, very upfront and professional. I was advised that the handbrake was faulty. Said I would take it back to the dealership that has adjusted it. 6th visit starter problem still there: finally found the fault. Crank angle sensor replaced after they had the part shipped up from melbourne. ssh ssh: Hand brake fixed. still has ssh ssh noise though. Currently: The starter problem has returned, The ssh ssh noise is louder than it has ever been, There is a hissing noise when I accelerate. Damo.

I have been doing some shopping around as I am thinking about a new car and 3 dealerships have told me that anyone would be crazy to buy an XR manual mark I with the T56 coming out. The manuals will be a full 1.5 percent($600-800) dearer. The start of september will see some 'extremely aggressive' sales on the mark I. By early september the fixed prices will be out on the mark II. Chances are they will be axing the sports leather interior with the mark II as well.

You say you have never been in an XR8 to campare but then comment on the 'G force rush' as you put it??? Go to your local dealership and book a test drive in an XR8, auto SSS or manual. Get on a straight bit of road and STOP. count to 3 then put your foot down! That 'G-Force' kicks in at 3grand EASY! The Turbo and XR8 are both great cars. Neither is markedly better OR worse than the other. In my eyes the 8 is the next best thing to a steak and a BJ. But my mate says the same about his Turbo.... Damo
