  1. Havnt looked at that yet, But if I can find a how to on removing those peices ill give it a go.
  2. Haha I know. but for what im paying in rent crappy floor coverings is nothing to complain about.
  3. Im new to the whole vinyl wrapping thing. But here is my basic how to on covering the faded lower window trims on the B-series cars. What you will need: -Vinyl wrap that is at least 100cm wide x at least 10cm -Hair dryer or heat gun -Scissors -Butter knife or something similar -Rag -Wax and grease remover or similar -Phillips head screwdriver -Pin First step is to remove the trim. This is easy. Open the door and you will see right on the back edge there is a small screw, remove this. Now lift up the trim piece from the rear gently and the 2 clips should come off easily, then slide the trim piece rearwards to pull the front of it from underneth the mirror trim. With the trim removed its time to clean it up. I washed mine with a rag and hot water to remove the bulk of the dirt then a quick wipe with wax and grease remover to finish it off. Once wiped down with wax and grease remover avoid touching the cleaned surface. Now cut the wrap to size. The trim peice is about 94cm long and narrow so I cut my 100cm peice at 5.5cm wide. The extra width is to wrap the vinyl around the trim behind it giving the vinyl more to grip onto. With the trim on a nice flat surface facing up, pull the backing sheet from the vinyl off completely. I found it was easier this way then trying to leave part of the backing sheet on. I applied the wrap from one side to the other leaving about 3cm of overhang on the end and even amounts of overhang on the top and bottom of the trim. As I was slowly placing the wrap on the trim I used 3 fingers in a pinch like position to press the vinyl firmly onto the trim. This technique for me produced no bubbles. Leave the overhanging vinyl for the moment. It needs to be trimmed up a bit first before wrapping it around the back of the trim. This is how your peice should look when placed upside down on bench. Below is how I trimmed mine. With the vinyl trimmed up to size now comes the tricky part. Wrapping around the edges. Start with one edge and grab the vinyl and gently pull it over the edge of the trim them push it down bit by bit from one end to the other. Repeat on the other edge. I then used a butter knife run along the inside of the trim to press it down. I then wrapped the ends and pressed it down firmly. Now grab the hairdryer or heat gun and go over the whole trim, paying extra attention to the edges of the vinyl. The heat shrinks the vinyl. Any bubbles in the surface of the wrap can be fixed by pin pricking the centre of the bubble then waving the hairdryer/heat gun over the bubble till it disappears. My first trim had a few bubbles that were easily fixed but my second one turned out perfect with the above technique used. If you think youve applied the wrap wrong, its crocked its easily pulled up and reapplied. Finished product To reinstall the trim its just the reverse of the removal process. Push the front edge of the trim gently under the mirror trim ever so slightly. Then gently push the trim down till it clips into the door. Then put the screw back in. A 100x50cm carbon vinyl wrap cost me 13bucks delivered so theres about 10 attempts there Remember this is my first time ever wrapping anything and more experienced people (henz) will probably correct anything that should be done differently.
  4. Got my wrap today and within an hour... Doing up a basic how to thread now.
  5. The saber when on my car handled nth qld heat fine.
  6. We dont crack down on that at test and tunes at the local track. Most race meetings a 12sec street car doesnt get scrutineered that much.
  7. Point to Point cameras would be easier and cheaper long term you'd think.
  8. Bit bullet and got a 100cm x 50cm black textured carbon roll for 14bucks. Will give it a go when it shows up.
  9. that's the plan.. No matter how good you look after it. That area around the windows starts to fade and look crap. You think some carbon vinyl from ebay will be good enough? Got any sellers on there you prefer/recommend.
  10. Henz, How would you go about vinyl wrapping the door trim part just under the window. Would the vinyl stick to this surface. this part in the box.
  11. Use the good pics I took
  12. Its things like this that make you believe there's still a chance for humanity.

  15. Bought a dslr camera allot chapter then I was expecting. Traded a 7+ year old point and shoot camera for 100 buck discount.
  16. Underground coal mine operator. Working on longwall. Use to be on maintenance but swapped to production.
  17. Night shift. First one in 9 months. Didn't sleep late enough. This is gonna suck.
  18. Im gonna put the car up on stands and have a look where would be best place to fit. I remember when I fitted my catback that there was a heap of room under the tray that would be out of harms way. Where abouts did you mount yours?
  19. Been thinking about doing this conversion on my ZF. Anything I should know before tackling it. Current way of doing it in my head is mount the extra large PWR cooler with fan under the tray of my ute and run 3/8 line with the adaptor barbs from ebay. Cooler with fans http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-8-Barb-Automatic-Transmission-Oil-Cooler-10-Thermo-Fan-Temp-Switch-PWR-/140829201423?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20ca13140f Fittings for transmission lines http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/140627057238?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Use a relay to wire the fan up using that thermostat switch. Will cut in at 105degrees even if car is off. Then shut off at 95degrees. Was going to use this wiring diagram. This will leave me with both foglights in, no trans cooler mounted near intercooler (wouldnt fit anyway) and I reckon under the tray of the ute would have awesome airflow. Anyone see a problem with this setup?
  20. Yep, washed car as normal. Only polished the top surfaces of the car, roof, bonnet, hardlid as that's where the dust sits from car sitting for days at a time. Spray on detailer wax and an electric buffer speeds job up
  21. Mate has them on his G6ET, Look awesome on the car. Hard to get pics that show the concave though Today cleaned car after it was parked at drags and got covered in dust. Also gave it a quick polish and wax. Seduce looks incredible when clean and shiney.
