Not the best lighting, too much glare on the dashdaq. Will get another video at night where it will be easier to read.

The way the bolts are spaced around the compressor housing to hold it on are about 20mm off between stock turbo and the GTX. To keep the factory actuator bracket I had to rotate the compressor housing. Look at the bolt circled in Red in comparison to the compressor outlet. GTX Ford turbo
-
Finally got the actuator so I could put the GTX on. Spent most of today putting it on. Needed a bit of rearranging the hotside pipeing to match the new angle of the outlet but no real dramas. Spools so fast. Need to readjust the wastegate then I can do some more testing to see if this housing is the way to go, or put the baby GTX back in a Ford sized housing.

If money grew on tree's id like to try it for comparion.

Got home from night shift, straight into the car to pick up turbo from couriers. Came with the housing already bolted on the rear. Tested the retaining plate for the compressor cover against the stock B series wastegate bracket. Winner, exact same pattern. Bolted on with stock actuator (turbosmart one hasn't arrived yet) and it all lines up. (Core has to be rotated to correct position) 4inch joiner on Comparison time.. Beside a stock B series turbo (gt3582r) Rear housings, .82 on the left and stock ford 1.06 on right, camera angle makes the .82 look smaller then it is but you can definately tell its smaller then the ford housing. Rear flange is the same size. Top down view of the .82 on left and Ford 1.06 on right. .82 is smaller looking from the rear but looking down from the top its about the same width as the Ford housing. Comparing the common rear housing sizes. Left- externally gated .63 housing Middle- Internally gated .82 housing (what ill be running) Right- Stock internally gated 1.06 housing Comparing the wastegate sizes. The flap on the new .82 housing is 37mm with a 31-32mm port. This compares to the fords small 33mm flap with 25mm port. Looks like I get away without having to send the new housing away for a port job. Bigger port from factory plus nizpro overboost valve should control boost spikes. Just waiting for the turbosmart actuator to show up then ill be bolting the thing in. Just run on spring pressure (12psi) and watch my wideband gauge while taking it easy till I get a tune. I should be able to tell if the .82 housing is too small before getting a tune.

Fg Turbo Inlet Vs Aftermarket Discussion
Stazza_Brendan replied to luke187's topic in Turbo Workshop
I too noticed the increase in torque fitting a plazmaman plenum to my BF. Makes sense if going for decent power on a B series, Removes alot of piping, looks great, increases torque, makes getting to the coils/plugs easier. I only got mine as it was cheap in a kit. I was also open to the idea of an FG turbo plenum. -
397kw on 20psi tapering to 18psi on 98 octane. 425kw on 25psi tapering to 20psi on 98 octane. This was achieved using a gtx3576r on a 1.06(ford) rear housing. The same car had previously ran the f6 turbo and made 430kw. Not much difference in the peak number. But response, low down torque was superior on the baby gtx.
-
If the .82 doesnt work out I have a spare ford housing I bought that I can use. Power will be sub-400rwkw on 98 (no E85 here) but on the street it should be awesome. Ill also need new injectors and possibly valve springs.
-
Just placed order for a GTX3576R and a .82 internally gated housing. Smaller housing + smaller more advanced turbo, should be interesting. Just hope my order got through on the last day of the MTQ special.

Mate ran over 400kw on 98 (with octane booster as a precaution) with a gtx3576r. That was on a g6et with PW Stage 3 cooler, xspurt injectors, turboside PW airbox, Manta twin 3inch exhaust and Atomic valve springs. Had to squeeze it hard to make that power, tuner said it would of been happier at 370-380kw mark. That car had gone from stock, moded with F6 turbo with above mods apart from Stage 2 PW cooler then to the above setup. The little GTX had so much go from down low. Car was written off a few days later unfortunately so didnt get to do proper testing or 1/4 mile times. We got some video, just off my phone. This is the only 1 I still have as its on youtube, the other videos werent public forum friendly lol, so they are long gone. Im going to stick one on my ute as im happy with mid to highish 300kw but want good low down punch.

Back in the day a mate had a vl turbo with a straight through 3inch system. from turbo to the back of the car was just 3inch pipe. The thing was insanely loud, and he ended up putting a large hotdog in the middle and a rear muffler on it.

Market must of dropped out of Gladstone like it has in Mackay. 2 years ago there was barely a vacant house here. Now theres a high vacancy rate and for the first time in ages you can bargain with rentals

Its not Dazzler... Facestalked the guy who posted that. Couldnt see much of his profile due to his privacy settings but there was 1 pic of a stock looking red BA XT on cheap 18s. Better keep an eye out for that monster.......

Is housing in Gladstone still overpriced and hard to get?

Found this post on facebook.. The good part is in the red.

2.5k for wheels, tyres, wheel nuts and hub rings. Was extra to ship to where I live but even that was cheap. -
Mc Racing Wheels (Simmons Look Alikes)
Stazza_Brendan replied to elapxidi's topic in Wheels and Tyres
Ive got a set on my bf ute. I weighed the rear 20x9.5 wheel with a tyre fitted and got about 25kg. If you ring them they will know what offset you will need. Wheels seem good quality, the finish is great. -
Restricted At 330Rwkw Due To 3" Exhaust
Stazza_Brendan replied to Rydeit's topic in Exhaust Workshop
A mates G6ET ran 370kw using stock catback with a 4inch Advance dump/cat combo. -
Been ages since I been on here. Update time. Ended up getting fulltime job at the mine I was working at as temp contractor, built a house, got into motorcycles, got engaged. Through all this time the ute remained a reliable work horse. Carting furniture, 1+ tonne of dirt, besser blocks, towing a drag car. The car now has- Rapidsystems 4.5 kit (all plazmaman gear apart from intercooler) Plazmaman surge tank with 044 pump Ported rear housing on turbo (not the above one) Xforce 4inch dump into 3.5inch system, Stainless Retuned to run 340rwkw with awesome torque (injectors near limit) and still on stock valve springs and stock ZF tune. Inside I put in 2 gauges, Autometer Cobalt in a SAAS gauge holder above the ICC. A Wideband and mechanical Boost gauge. Changed the speakers for JL Audio ones 2 x 12inch Sony subs run off a Pioneer Amp New headlining New handbrake cover to replace my cracking one Leather recovered centre console lid Getting close to 80,000km I decided the ute needed a birthday. New NTK O2 sensor New genuine coils New genuine wheel hubs (not fitted yet) New big brake kit (not bought yet but very close) New MC Racing 20inch wheels (SImmons look without the Simmons price tag) Genuine BF GT wheel to use as a spare once bigger brakes go on
