It the Eclipse AVN6000 - read about it here http://www.eclipse-web.com.au/avn/ The factory sound stalk no longer works.. To tell you the truth I dont even notice the stalk anymore, if that's the only reason you dont want to get an XR5!! Anyhow they are a great car and much more fun to drive than my old XR6T and with a few mods go even better than an standard XR6T.

I doubt very much their 197kw is at the wheels - I have many mods done to my XR5 and it isnt at 197kw at the wheels (172 at the moment) I think they have miss quoted and mean 197 at the fly wheel! Frosty

Hi Guys, Can anyone suggest a Ford dealer in Melbourne (preferably eastern suburbs) that has an open mind to an XR with mods (exhaust, chipped, CAIS & Intercooler) I understand I need to take some responsibilty for these mods but would hate to be "black banned" for any other warranty worked not related to the mods. Mondie, Yes I too agree about the Driveline shunt in my manual XR6T - It does become a bit anoying doesnt it! Is there anything that can be done about it?

Hi Phantom, Yes I am very happy with the Phantom Colour - I orginally wanted BluePrint but my dealer had the Phantom in stock - signed on the Monday afternoon and picked it up on the Wed :D The Colour really attracts a crowd of onlookers doesn't it! Glad I have the Phantom now.. Frosty

Hi All, I finally have gotten around to taking some pictures of my new toy.. XR6 Turbo - Phantom - 5 Speed Manual - Premium Sound - Momo Wheel - XR Mats - Scuff Plates - Mad Spats.. Had it now for about 3 weeks and 1300kms worth - Just loving driving it, any chance I can.. A few points to comment on.. Good... 1. Goes better than my VT HSV Manta (195kw) 2. Handles better than the HSV also.. :D Bad... 1. Performance decrease in Hot weather - above 32deg.. :( 2. Vibration in exhaust system at low revs take off.. 3. My Knob (gear change) gets very hot when car parked in the sun.. nearly too hot to touch! Anyhow I am happy and take every chance to go for a drive in it.. FROSTY

$1800 for the Premium Sound! I take it that's after the price rise as its normally only $900 extra.. Nasty price rise isn't it! FROSTY

Hi All, Well I today changed my order to a PHANTOM XR6T - Manual with Premuim Sound & Momo Steering wheel.. My dealer has it in stock so I dont have to worry about waiting for it to turn up now.. Phantom was my 2nd choice color anyhow - wont worry about the Sun roof and 18" wheels now.. So I pick it up tomoorrow at 4pm!! :D I cant wait! FROSTY

BAXR6T, Thanks for the info about del problems you are having, I was told Ford closed until Jan 13th by my saleguy.. I will call him toomorrow to question him about del times again.. Perhaps I should just get the Phantom with the standard 17" wheel my dealer has in stock! Let me know how you go with you call to your sale guys toomorrow Frosty

Ok thanks for all the info. I will stick with the Factory installed Sun roof.. I will also change to 18" wheels after looking at them again today at my dealer, they do look kinda nice .. I wonder how much more expensive 18" tyres are against the 17" ones? Frosty

Hi All, Thanks for wellcoming me the Forum.. I just cant wait to get my XR6T - I ordered Blueprint and will have to wait 3-4 weeks to get it - but my dealer has a Phantom in stock but it doesnt have the 18" wheels on it which I ordered with the Blueprint.. Is it just matter of changing the 17" to the 18's or is some speedometer recalibration needed for the different size rims? Perhaps I should get the Phantom Also the Phantom doesnt have the sunroof in it which dealer says he can get fitted locally - any difference in factory fitted sunroofs against no factory fitted ones? Any thoughts from you guys what I should do? Thanks Frosty

Hi.. Could not be bothered waiting for the Fleet discount (July-Aug delivery) and was told it would only be about $2400.. and with price rise of 1% it only works out to about $1600 saving.. Not sure about the 2% rise you mention from Jan 1st - list price on paper work is shown at $43695 - is this the release price? Thanks Frosty

Hi All, Just ordered my XR6T today from a local dealer in Melbourne. They have no demo turbos avalaible to test drive :( I told sales guy I wont buy one unless I can test drive one.. Guess what he found one out the back for me to test drive :D so if you need a test drive just tell them no drive no deal and you should get a ride.. Went for Blue print in Manual - Sunroof & Premium Sound system - saleguy tells me about 4 weeks delivery (they have 2 XR6T manuals in stock but not the colour I wanted) Also he tells me a 1% price rise is on the way for any Feb03 onwards built cars.. that means about $800 increase.. I cant wait!!
