  2. Agreed!, Sinclair Ford Penrith BTW.
  3. Yep sorry, gotta agree with you there. I've had them snap bolts off at the head and blame me for it! I'm like WTF!!!! It just went in for a service..........! And it's stock as a rock...
  4. Looks awesome! Just needs some SSL springs, then it'd be complete.
  5. Yeah, have to say that came out a'ight!
  6. Let me be the first to say Congrats!
  7. OK, well, I'm no expert on BOV's but the flutter sound is not made from your BOV, but rather from turbo compression, where air is forced back against the turbo impeller. Most BOV's simply make a "k'chssss" sound. I fitted mine with a whistle trumpet which was available from GFB for the Stealth FX. Which make a, yep, you guessed it, a whistle sound. (as long as your boosting 10psi) Actual audio files of the difference between the 2 can be downloaed at GFB.com.au I have actually run my Xr6 witout a BOV altogether, and yes.... you get the flutter sound. This is debateable as to whether or not it is good for your turbo... Do a search... At the end of the day, the flutter is made from the air being forced back against your turbo impellor as you shut off the gas. The "k'chsss" sound is made from the BOV. Factory BOV is fully "plumb back". Meaning it should be pretty much silent. Might give flutter sound, but should give no "k'chssss" sound! Most atmo venting BOV's sound the same. The only exception being the "blitz" BOV I think. Which makes a very high pitched whistle. Hope this helps.
  8. I also run the GFB stealth FX BOV on mine. As I'm a bit of a sucker for the sound too. But to be honest with you, I have it set to fully plumb back most of the time unless I feel like being a bit of a ricer. GFB, do however make a really good quality unit, and I fully recommend it if it's the path you want to go down.... Personally, looking back, I wished I'd now spent the money making the car go fast.... Not just sound fast..... As I'm sure you'll find out..... These BOV's aren't cheap! Just make sure you get the hose adaptors with it at the time of purcahse, and she'll bolt right on. (25mm from memory) Instant rice!
  9. Dunno if this is a repost, soz if it is. Been listening for a couple of hours already.... Pretty addictive.... http://speedy.akadns.info/streams/8000/sydneypolice.wax is the WMP version http://speedy.akadns.info/streams/8000/sydneypolice.ram is the realplayer version.
  10. Doesn't look real.... Just something about it.... dunno, Is it just me?
  11. I'm in two minds about this. On one hand, he knew what he was doing and we must pay for our actions in this world, and to think of the pain/hurt he could've caused so many...... On the other hand, locking him up forever would've achieved the same result IMO. Would the execution really act as a deterant to others? Or would it be forgotten about in 2 weeks time by the next idiot who tries move some drugs? I guarantee the Mother of the executed bas*ard won't have forgotten about it by then.....
  12. Soz, forgot to mention not to get caught up in the megapixel war. Just cos one camera is 7 megapixel and the other is 5, doesn't mean that one will take a better quality image than the other. This is basically just a good marketing tactic IMO......
  13. I recently picked up a Canon S2 IS. These are great cameras in the sense that they have many features and not a huge price tag. 12X (optical) zoom. (forget digital zoom as it's pretty much useless on any camera) 5mp, which is sufficient and it is also image stabilised, which is good for low light and anything with a decent zoom. It's got a 30fps 640 x 480 movie mode which looks as good as my mates new camcorder. You can also zoom and use image stabiliser during movie recording! Only major drawbacks are: The size. It's not what you'd call pocketable.... And the images get a bit noisy at high ISO, but you'll prolly find most non DSLR cams do cos of their small sensor. Anyhow, not a bad camera. Pretty good allrounder for times when I don't feel like lugging my 20d and equip with me. Checkout the review Canon review on dpreview.com my 2cents worth....... I don't work for Canon BTW.....
  14. I would need only the one, and this would be it...... As seen at the 2005 sydney motorshow....
  15. Rims on the left are the go IMO. Go the phat dish look. They will look smaller as another poster already pointed out, compared to the others. So I guess you'll just have to get the left ones in at LEAST 19 inch! Which ever you decide on, duddn't madda cos either one's gonna look nice.
  16. All I have to say is that Murphy has now confirmed what I long thought of him.... Cough... W@nka... cough.....
  17. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it looks a tad over done.... Should have stuck to 20 inch all round at max! 22 inch makes it look comical IMO...
  18. Hi, Hi, it seems as though the modification bug has bitten me. I'm thinking of getting an edit done as I'd like just a little bit more grunt as I've grown used to what the car currently produces. (My T is currently stock). I'm limited in the sense that it's a company vehicle, and this is why the edit seems as though it would best suit my needs. Easy to install, easy to remove. Change cars regularly etc.... Question is... Is it necessary to inform your insurance company about the edit as it is a "stealth" unit and it would be the only mod I'd do? As my insurance is also organised through my work, it might make it hard for me to broach the topic with my employer on the basis that I want to mod the car etc. Just after the general consensus.... I want to be up front about the mod with the insurance company, but if it is a "stealth unit" I might just be concerned for nothing.... thanks.
  19. Mate, go the typhoon. The subi's are quick and refined, and the mazda seems to be shaping up pretty well too. But you kinda answered it for yourself... You want a FAST car, go the phoon. You know you wanna....... The others just can't cut it in the whoosh factor like the typhoon can. Either one will do. 6 speed auto sounds good, but you sound like a manual fan. Not having had an auto before, I'd jump on the manual to be on the safe side.... Either way you can't lose.
  20. In a Big Country - Big Country.
  21. Hi All, Well the lease on my XR6T is up in a couple of months and I've started to get excited at the thought of my new toy, err, car. The "T" has been pretty good to me over the years but I'm getting the urge to move on and perhaps try something different..... Which got me thinking,.... I'm keen to hear what peoples ideas are when it come to considering what their next ride might be. So far I've considered; 1) STi WRX - leaning toward this, even though I'm a bit undecided on the new look for 2006. 2) Super Pursuit ute. 3) Maloo R8 I know it's probably been done before to death but I know myself that over time I can change my mind etc.
  22. What gives? I've seen about 3 (different) cop cars in the last month all driving around at night with their fog lights on??? I've only just started to notice this since reading about the legalities not long ago.... Seems a bit dodgy that they'll then fine you......
  23. Just out of interest, did you consider the super pursuit ute? It's round the same mark as the maloo r8 and IMO is a nicer package.... My lease is up soon on the T and I was also considering the same swap as urself, or to the pursuit. I'd be interested to hear a few more thoughts from you on the Maloo... build quality, performance etc compared to your BA. Or am I on the wrong forum.... And, if you can stop driving it . Anyhow, have fun with your new purchase...
  24. Wow dude. Sorry to hear about this. Good thing is that you and all others came out of it OK. Sounds harsh, but the car's replaceable... I had a very similar sounding acco. Freeway, raining, gave it a boot to get some clown tailgating me off my Ar5e and the rest was history. Left the road sideway at 110kph. I was lucky though, no pole in the way! Downside of that was that I didn't stop (flipping) for some time. I also copped the $130 fine. Just curious, do you have any mods to the vehicle? And did your insurance company know about this? I had a few (mild) mods done which I didn't inform them about and I was crapping myself that I wasn't gonna be covered. It was the longest wait of my life. Then over a month later they contacted me to say it was a write off and I would be paid out.... (Perfectly understandable if you don't wanna discuss this....) My xr6 remains stock....
  25. Seriously, is this the best thing cops can think of to do with their time? How's this, Saturday night was in town and saw a cop car doing laps with their foggies on..... What the? How can they justify pulling you over for f%$ks sake and they do it too. Sorry, I just hate a hypocritical system..... Regardless of it being right or wrong, they cruise round with these ligths on too. then they turn around and threathen you with a fine!?! Anyone else see anything wrong with this picture? It's not the cops I'm annoyed at, it's the system cause you hear of this sort of thing all the time.
