  1. That was a great clip, perfect positioning of the Go-Pro.
  2. 2003 BA Mk1. 186k Km's, 292rwKW @ 12 psi, runs 12.9. About to add more mods, another bigger intercooler, better plumbing, it's 2nd auto service, and retune for 14 - 15psi and expect around 320rwKW. I hope it stays together! :D Done 2 sets of stock diff bushes (free under ext warr), and recently replaced control arm (control blade) bushes with SuperPro comp spec, and highly recommend them. More posts of high Km cars is nice to see!
  3. Found a similar thread man.. the outcome was handbrake bracket was loose or cable fell out of the bracket, all under the car. They reckon CAREFULLY try 1 - 2 clicks on the handbrake to see if it goes away.. if so, tighten the handbrake under the car, or see if it's loose. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/76800-knocking-sound/page__st__40 Mines moreso when turning left.. at any speed, even real slow. It's not my exhaust, and pretty sure it's not swaybar.
  4. Good thread, good read, and good discovery made.. I wonder if this is my noise.. it's actually coming from under my left foot in the foot well.. appears to happen moreso when turning left.. at any speed. Maybe swaybar, may one of these handbrake brackets.. had it on the hoist the other day at Jax, didn't appear to be exhaust or swaybar. Will see..
  5. Strongly advise against this, as you can damage the tabs. Admittedly I've had a couple of issues with the submersible line being too long, and pushin the cap up etc.. and have had to take the pump out a couple of times. I was using drivers, and being carefull, but the claw-lip on these tabs that hold on to the rib of the male fitting can be damaged easily, and the supply line can blow off; which is what happened to me last week. I had to replace the line with a new supply line: Just slide the fitting forward, then slide the tabs back, and the fitting will come off with ease. Mine is leaking, and people are saying there's a seal, but no pics. I fit the module into the tank, and put the black metal ring on top, 6 bolts. I don't have any rubber seal?
  6. does anyone make a cat section that fits to the factory dump aaand the twin 2.25" middle that is NOT a rip off?
  7. Getting my Speedflow line and Motorsport Connections inline filter fitted on Tuesday with valve springs.. Just read this whole thread and am so glad I decided to do this!
  8. Hi fella's, great reading. I have purchased some KING Superlows (KFFL-57 (NOT 57SL's, these are old AU coils, and end up being ULTRA lows for BA's..) and KFRL-68SSL) and short body Durashocks. Honestly, is there any need for camber kits? I have previously had an EA with Superlows (26SL and 27SL) all round, the car sat LEVEL, and had even wear across the face of the tread. As this is a different car, and geometry, I am getting mixed opinions on the camber kit.. Who has fitted the BA Super low part# above without camber kits..? What is the wear like? Would a wheel alignment afterwards be enough? EDIT, am running stock MkII alloys 17" 235 wide.. and am also getting the SuperPro short rear bumpstops... IS there a need for anything else?
  9. Buy it! +1 for BA's with warranty :D
  10. Cheers Brods and ozking, that's what I'm after. My BA MkI has 130k's and was I planning to go on the sub 300rwkw power route; full history, drives really well.
  11. To put it simply, what's the most number of k's you've seen on an XR6T prior to it's first tuning-involved mods... Eg flashing, flash and exhaust etc.
  12. Doing some thread mining on these wheels.. Anyone seen P1 Racing II's on a BA/BF? I know they're popular on Jap cars, but they're lightweight, and have suitable fitments. Can't find a pic anywhere fitted to a Falcon!
  13. I've had rough idle at the lights after giving it a squirt, car is stock (except intercooler), figured it was a fuel shortage just for the moment. Not worried though.
  14. Just got a reply from Turbosmart (even on a Sunday), Pic A is the current one, and comes with blanking plate for full plumb or full atmo. Sick.
  15. Which one does it look like? If I go order one right now, can I expect A or B to show up? Thanks.
  16. CAPITAL All Ford day this weekend.. who's going? :D
  17. Who made the shocks? I thought Lovell's just made coils?
  18. Cheers man, was thinking of getting the basic twin tube Excel G ones, but am lead to believe only the rear shock is copied off the XR OEM short shock.. Does this mean the front KYB shock will be longer than a stock XR one? I don't really wanna be stuffing AU gear into the towers. Not real keen on Pedders, or Monroe, but no-one actually makes a shortened shock? I miss my BOGE's on the EA lol. I don't think I can afford Bilsteins and coil overs are a waste for my purpose.
  19. The part numbers you want are: KFFL-57 (Front), FRL68SSL (Rear) These ARE the superlow coils. I HAVE confirmed this with K.... at KING SPRINGS. Fitting this combo WILL lower your car 30mm at the front and 40mm at the rear - making it nice and level, and appear lower than stock XR height. Forget about what anyone says SL or SSL suffix means in the catalogue. Normally SL does mean superlow's and SSL normally does mean Ultra (Super Super) low.. NOT in this case, this is because the XR is already at LOW height. People fitting KFFL-57SL in the front thinking it's Superlow, it's not, the SL front part number is Ultra low in the case of the BA. There is NO Ultra rear low coil for the BA. Hope this helps, have been researching this for a little while as it'll be the first thing I do (like any of my cars) to my new BA.
  20. Has anyone tried KYB's in their T? I've heard the rear is copied off the shortened body XR shock, but not the front.. Anyone confirm?
  21. All sweet now? Guess I'll be waiting till I can afford exhaust and tune after reading a few threads like this..
  22. Happy New Year team.. Bought my new ride in mid December, just in time for trip to QLD. Sep 2003 build, leather, premo sound, auto. Very clean, and stock, bar K&N panel, and the wheels which I don't like. Anyone know what they are called, and worth? I wanna get a set of Arospeed RS GT's with the gloss black centres. Sadly my EA S pack is no more, stripped to almost nothing, cheers to all from forums who pitched in and grabbed some of the quality gear it had. Plans are: PWR trans cooler 3.5" dump, 3.5" cat, twin 2.5" sys Nizpro valve springs Flash to about 10 - 12psi Also keen to fit boost and oil pressure guages .. have searched on a few forums, and yep it's a hot topic, but still haven't found the ultimate guide with pics yet.. Canberra owners, where are you getting your exhaust and tuning done at? Feedback appreciated.. Cheers.
  23. Whilst researching (yes, thread mining) this issue, I wanted to know the following: 1/ Did this poor blokes car get sorted? Is it still alive today? 2/ I heard Ford eventually started to run seperate transmission coolers - when did this happen? 3/ Best option for DIY - is there a Fraud part available to run a seperate cooler on the earlier models / which is the best aftermarket cooler? Cheers.
  24. That certainly is impressive for an n/a!

    New Members Thread

Greetings boosters, Joined up a little while ago as I'm in the market for a BA XR6T. Always have been tinkering with cars, usually older models to suit my budget and ease of working; however it's been a bit difficult lately, so have decided to get a newer model car. Last few rides have been EA's, and have proven points at the skidpan that the right setup has good potential. Whilst have been lovin the Fords, and am a bit of a fan, I don't consider myself a "Ford Man" through and through, but rather just a man. I'm a fan of automotive engineering, and I think a few can relate to it. There are heaps of good looking and performing cars out there - not just from one manufacturer. Whilst never owned a Holden, I do like the look of some HSV's, but prefer older Holdens (pre commondore). So many Expensive Daewoo fanboi's have no idea what torque is, and that your manual 4.0L will always give a 5L a good run, if not beat it. Also prefer the seating and handling of the Aussie car (Ford). It's a shame so many fella's think the torqueless V6 with an auto is the greatest car on the road LOL. When it came to the crunch recently, and I had to bite the bullet and realise I need to get a newer car. The only newer car I like is the BA/BF. So here I am, been researching the XR6T and can't honestly see a better bang for your buck ride. Am now ready to purchase one, but some sellers are way off the mark for the price. Have even spoken to some seller's after they've sold their ride to see what they got for it. Right now, am looking for a manual with leather and premium sound, and around 120k, give or take. Prefer a stocker too. I'm also on fordmods.com - great site, been there for a few years. Hardly any t00ls on there compared to a certain larger ford site. This site looks like it's shaping up to be the same standard of decent enthusiasts and people as fordmods, so am happy to come aboard. Rock on. Cheers.
