  1. Agreed mate Nah I don’t like my current wheels per say anyway... plus they’re only GXL wheels... but yeah definitely something after market I think has to be the go.
  2. LOL! I’m old and boring now. TRYME, Fair difference between the two, land cruiser is a bit bigger, but we hated how the back seats folded up into the boot wasting space and it was on that threshold of too big for the putting around the city I still have to do... we’ve been happy with the economy of the prado too, the land cruiser has the v8 so guzzles a bit. Kakadu is 95k and VX land cruiser is 100k roughly.... couldn’t tell you what a land cruiser Sahara is worth nowadays coz they aren’t making them I think they’re trying to flog a few left for $160k or something ridiculous.
  3. Hahaha I’ll check them out Yeah I must admit a big part of the appeal was how much we got trade for our prado on this one... we bought it new and lost less than 10% value in 4 years which is amazing lol.
  4. nfi 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think j@ perused a prado forum when we first bought the last car... I don’t have tapasucks 😬
  5. Current prado... 80,000kms in 3 years, I live under 5kms from my work... the rest is country driving or off roading keiffff 😝 TRYME, I’m not saying Kias are bad cars by any stretch, I just think they mostly look gross and cheap. Not concerned about being happy overall with the prado as we wouldn’t have ordered a second one if we didn’t like our first, it’s just the wheels that have thrown me off 😥
  6. But a prado isn’t an SUV in that sense though.... 😬 It’s a 4x4 off roading vehicle more than it is an SUV type thing IMO. An SUV by today’s standards is like a Kia Sorrento or sportage which is exactly what I don’t want to drive hahah
  7. So... It’s been a good 3.5 years since I bought my prado and we’ve been extremely happy with it, so much so I decided to purchase another. The only compromise being that this time I wanted leather, sun roof etc, which means the Kakadu. So I settled on the Kakadu in Charcoal with a colour coded bull bar and tow pack... then disaster struck, Toyota decided mid way through there would be a model change which meant different rims which were an 18 inch now a 19 inch. We both hate them....(see below)... Old rims we wanted (18 inch): New rims we hate (19 inch): So I’ve been doing some research on wheels and tyres given the cars landed... and I found these... http://www.fueloffroad.com/wheel/13343/fuel-1-piece-wheels-covert-d696/?finishID=4434&lugs=6 Keen for opinions on the wheels and also any advice on a good road tyre that still looks tough... I’ve been recommended the below option... anyone used them before?
  8. As someone who worked for Ford when these came out and understands the value of this kind of item.... $6.50 if you throw in an Xbox controller and a fish tank
  9. 6 months since ordering them and I still don’t have my plantation shutters or curtains ... fml but I did change the sheets today and I am still loving the pink everywhere 🥰
  10. Did a fresh gnocchi Ragu tonight... well all of today... Cooked it as per my own made up recipe... it included: - 2 whole chicken breasts - 1 large pork chop bone in - 1 piece of rump steak Cooked it over a period of about 4-5 hours while I was pottering around in the kitchen anyway. I ended up with nearly 3L of sauce I think and it’s 50% meat I’d say lol. Then I did a chewy triple chock brownie for j@a desert also. (and some vanilla cupcakes for the kids)
  11. Okay you’ve convinced me!!! I need a sous vide machine and I wanna try all that!!! I know the photo didn’t do it justice but it still looks awesome! well done mate solid effort!
  12. Let us know how it goes!!! Im keen to get my hands on one of those machines. Well today I got in the cooking mood after working (from home)... Firstly decided to make Baklava but more the Arabic version... Firstly make up a syrup with honey, sugar, lime juice and vanilla. Then make the baklava filling, I stuffed it with pistachios and almonds, then make then and bake them Then made some kourabiethes (Greek almond biscuits)... the dots are almond. Then for dinner made a roast chicken with mash and mushroom gravy.
  13. I dunno.... I think if I'm going to the extent of changing the wheels I may as well then go after market ones I really like... but I am struggling to find any I do like, which is the issue at the moment.
  14. I haven't ever cooked beef cheeks, but I ate them as one of the meals paired with a wine tasting once... I don't like beef very much but oh boy they were yummy AF!!! Let us know how you go!
  15. moaning Kieffff.... Had an interesting one over the weekend.... Have had the new Prado on order for a couple months... turns out Toyota decided to change the wheels to a 19 inch variant and a few minor "upgrades" and then charge another $700 for the privilege. We loved the old 18 inch wheels. Anyways.... we both hate the new wheels, but the car is here and the bullbar is being powder coated almost as we speak getting ready for pre delivery....These are the new wheels.... dealer agreed to cover $400 of the $700 price hike and powder coat the Toyota genuine bull-bar for no cost (same colour as the car, charcoal grey).... Any suggestions for some good aftermarket rims for 4wds??? lol
  16. Technically I am “essential” as government, but given we have an obligation to follow government advice we have been told to only work from home. I find it hard to get motivated. j@ is not essential, so he’s home... and therefore we can’t send the kids anywhere so they’re home too... Thank god we have a big house or else I think I would be motivated enough to dig a basement for them to all hang in.
  17. Yo yo ... Happy lockdown everyone 😂
  18. how to you do the grill lines? Pan or open flame? I realised I haven’t posted much about cooking in the new digs ... loving this kitchen. Today I did buttermilk pancakes for breakfast (these are just the left overs lol) Roast chicken sangas for lunch and roast lamb for dinner ... (I hate lamb but the boys love it) ps.... this is the bomb!!!!
  19. Very cool. I’m an apple person 100%, and I’m not even ashamed to admit it’s because the user interface is more basic and I like it that way, but that’s a nice looking piece of kit keiffffff
  20. Yeah nah.... the process took maybe 3-4 weeks for interview - psychometric testing, blah blah to letter of offer.... then 4 weeks later I started. I mean government are slow but to be honest it’s 100% about the department/sector you’re in and the manager, my boss was keen as mustard to get me in the door so I was lucky maybe. Saying that my last job wasn’t much different either in government.
  21. We ended up going to Renmark for a holiday weekend with the kiddlets... lots of basketball, bike riding, playing on the bouncy pillows abs play equipment and beers... winning.
  22. How’s everyone going? could bore you all about how amazing my new job is, but instead I’ll just say the best bit.... everyone is into cars!!! Like every person has an XB or an XY or an old Mustang or Monaro or Torrie.... it’s like the place where good taste went to work!!! Hahah don’t know what I’m doing there 😂 What’s everyone up to this weekend? pulling trans out hey puff?
