  2. Happy Birthday dannyyoung!

  3. organised getting the loom modified by the bloke as seen in the link above.. just need to send it off,, keep forgetting about it! all good though..
  4. hit up DW Customs mann.. www.dwcustoms.com they should be able to give you some info..
  5. excellent, that is exactly what I'm after.. cheers for that link!
  6. cheers for the replies! some good info coming through! Also, nice conversion mate! that looks spot on! I looked at doing the dash conversion also, butt I think from memory my courier was too narrow.. Came up trick in yours! From the ECU, with someone who knows what they're doing they should be able to disable all the Falcon ' in- cab ' gear, such as the headunit they run with the climate control etc? And modify the courier internal loom to run off the falcon computer instead? Cheers!
  7. cheers for all the input, much appreciated! I've fired off an email to FTG auto salvage, just to find out how they went about it and any details they can give me.. I'd like to go down this road if possible seeing as I've already got the ECU and looms.. And also, to run a flash tune would be great!
  8. updates are at minimum! haven't found much info on ECU's.. At the moment I think I'll go for an Aftermarket option as I reckon it would be a large eff around trying to get the BA ECU to run happily.. butt I would love it if anyone can give me a direction, or even which ECU brand/ model I should be looking at.. Cheers!
  9. my courier.. obviously just a mock up.. haa ..in progress.
  10. holy hell, just read through the whole thread and youu've definitly done the in's and out's of this one! doing an awesome job of getting everything organised to be a reliable motor! hope these valves turn up soon, so this can come together for some more updates! question though,, why didn't or did you? look into getting a built Atomic 998GT-A or GT-R motor as it would've been cheaper than buying a kit and building your motor up? I'm sure youu adressed this and there was a reason, butt I'd like to know as I'm currently trying to make the decision myself..
  11. Oh and ECU- planned to run the Falcon ECU piggypacking with the Courier computer so as to still run all the internal side of things from the courier aswell as the motor etc.. however may look into an aftermarket computer if the need arises..
  12. Thanks for the replies and info! Yeah I'll ask Atomic a few questions regarding motor side of things then.. The gearbox, T56, just turned up today so I haven't got anything sorted out on that front, I read that MalWood makes some top notch ones, so I'll look into that.. That's good that the 72lb's will work,, one less thing to have to change.. ha The tailshaft, I'll get one made once the gearbox and diff are in, nice strong one to suit the car.. Brakes, yeah at the moment they are just the standard BA XR6T ones with the rotors machined, I'll upgrade them later on no doubt.. What sort of fuel system am I looking at creating, how many fuel pumps? Cheers! pics; engine mounts/ front crossmember setup: gearbox crossmember: - this was done to suit th T5 initially.. will now be modified for the T56 engine mounted:
  13. eh everyone,, Well I have a 2000 Ford Courier which I am gradually doing a 2003 BA XR6 Turbo engine conversion into and was just hunting around for some answers.. I've been reading the forum flat out and have learnt a lot from what all the other owners and tuners have to say. To start with, yes I want a good amount of power,, target figure is about 450rwkw (hopefully). Why? Because I can, it's in what will be a show car and driven rarely.. Some details are: Yes I am rebuilding the motor with an Atomic rebuild kit, so the bottom end will be strong, I'm not cutting corners and plan to do everything right the first time to save issues later on (hopefully). I have a Garrett GT4202R turbo, CPC Plenum, T56 gearbox,, currently have 72lb Nizpro purchased injectors, Crow Cams Stage.2 cams, will have custom made turbo manifold, cooler piping and exhaust. 1). Will 72lb injectors be enough to see me to around this figure, or should I be upgrading? 2). I'm pretty sure I'll move to an Atomic Cam, which stage cams should I be looking into? 3). Other than rebuild, the parts I already have/ upgrading etc, what else will I need to do to my motor to get it to where it needs to be to handle/ make this power..? Also, I will be running the BA XR6T diff shortened, yes, it will have Falcon brakes all round (the front is already converted to 5 stud with custom hubs). Any information will help and be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. Danny.
  14. that's a madd result and mental build up! awesome workk fellas!
  15. well we were planning to run the standard ecu in the car to run all the internal/ control components, then have the Ford XR6T ECU also to run the motor,, butt.. I have read of people installing XF mechanical throttle bodies onto their EL Falcon's in these conversions, butt a mate also said he is going to put an AU throttle body on his car.. so I was just after a good direction to go in with this one..
  16. 2003 BA XR6 Turbo motor being used in an older car, and need to find out if it's possible to do a conversion from the electronic throttle body to a mechanical setup to suit the car.. anyone done this, and/0r what is involved? Cheers
  17. hahaaa,, your not wrong! yeahh that's one thing I realised about it, it's not just a straight forward setup which runs a few things,, it's wires going everywhere.. thanks for the reply though, and hopefully someone will have a yay nay answer and a direction to point me in so I can look into getting something lined up.. Cheers!
  18. eh,, well as the topic states (and it's more than likely that someone has done something like this before butt) I'm beginning an engine conversion into my 2000 Ford Courier 2WD ute.. I purchased a damaged '03 BA XR6T Ute this week and mates and I removed the engine last night, however I'm just wondering now whether it's possible to use the standard ECU/Wiring Loom and slightly customise it to suit the Courier or if anyone knows of people doing this. I know there are aftermarket options, butt I just figured seeing as I have the entire car there already that I'd check this out first. and information would be good.. Cheers Danny.
  19. eh fellas,, new on the forum and came across this so thought I'd post up.. I'm probably not exacltly what this forum is all about,, butt it's been good reading all your info and threads..! just brought a damaged 2003 BA XR6T Ute from auctions,, it has been rolled and all the rest.. butt the engine,, wheels and interior is all spot on,, and am beginning to do an engine conversion into my Courier Ute (minitruck) and attempt to get the seats and dash cluster/ gauges in.. should be funn! haa Cheeers!
