  1. How about the inside
  2. Hi Guys.I Have a G6E Turbo and would like to know how to remove the 2 parts of the grill, upper and lower. Do I have to remove the bumper to remove these 2 parts of the grill. If so how do I do that. Also I have to remove the instrument cluster. Any step by step instructions would be much appreciated.Been searching for hours for workshop manuals online but all I got was a link to torrent and other downloads which matched my enquiry, which usually is not ther real deal so I didn't bother. Regards Spuddo
  3. Hi all. Can anyone tell me how to remove the lower Grill from my G6E.Does the Bumper have to come off to remove it. Regards
  4. No problem guys. There just seemed to be a lot of queeries on LSD's on the G6E Turbo section.
  5. This is total crap. My LSD is as quiet as a stock open wheeler.Would not know it was installed except it goes sideways in a straight line and around corners. Cheers
  6. I always turn my T/C off when I get in the car unless I am cruising with the family or need the T/C protection at high speed on a windy road. Problem solved
  7. I posted details of the aftermarket clutch free diff I installed on My G6E Turbo which was informative on the Pro's and cons of LSD's factory and aftermarket. It was moved to the driveline forum for what reason I don't know.I fly jets for a living instead of installing or selling diffs. Anyway you can do a search for my post with my username but all I am saying is whatever aftermarket diff you install will probably be stronger and the same cost except no clutches to wear out. Also it is super quiet and makes no noises engaging.Basically the same as stock open wheeler but not only in a straight line. All I am saying is do your research before you buy one. Regards Spuddo (FG G6E Turbo)
  8. Hi everyone. Had my G6E Turbo for 2 months now and pleased with it.I noticed that the left footwell lighting is only a thin strip across the footwell compared to the right side.I thought that this was due to my factory VDO but fitted after delivery sat nav position. The sat nav was fitted horizontally on the bottom of the glove box.The factory sat nav sits above the left kick panel. I had it moved but the footwell lighting was the same, so I reversed the light behind the glove box and it is now lighting up the whole back of the footwell. To do this job takes 2 minutes.Simply open the glove box and once opened pull the glove box stop on the top right of the glovebox down to open it further. You will see the footwell lighting globe facing down at a 45 degree angle to the floor from the fire wall side at the lower end of the glove box. The top light is the glove box light.Simply pull the globe holder out and reverse it so it is now facing the fire wall and facing 45 degrees upwards. There is just enough wire to reverse it and it does not get in the way of the glove box when closed. This globe holder does not have to be turned to remove or install simply pull it out and push it in.I have looked at 2 new cars which both have it installed facing the cabin.I believe it was engineered to face the fire wall but has been installed incorrectly from the factory. After all what footwell lighting only does a thin line on one side but the whole footwell on the right.Let me know what you think. Regards FG G6E Turbo
  9. Sorry about the spelling !!
  10. Signature's gone on the paper.... a Mystic G6ET with all the fruit is on the way. And a KAAZ LSD ordered as well. Just so as I don't get stuck in the driveway. Injectors and some other goodies ordered in the next couple of weeks. I'm hearing that song.... "Here we go again....". Pic's when it's here and detailed.... you might want to read my post on diffs if you ar going to put a KAAZ diff in yout car.The post is in the driveline Workshop titled (G6E Turbo Diff update)
  11. Has anyone managed to get a iphone to work with the Bluetooth. My car is 4 weeks old and Bluetooth worked fine with my Nokia but will not work with new 3GS iphone.
  12. Don't notice any difference for normal driving.I have not thrown the car around hard as yet with the TC on to see if there are any problems.I turn the traction control off when I want to have fun which disables all the programs so no problem.
  13. Had the diff for 4 weeks.Drives great just like the standard diff.No noises or clunks and locks up good when required. Was told to change diff oil every 20,000 kms which is 2 years for me.Diff guy said he can change the oil for $45 so won't bother doing it myself. Here is the link for the diff however I did not buy it from Harrop. www.harrop.com.au/products/drive_line_and_suspension/ttrc9830-00.html
  14. Hi Guys.Due to the large comments on LSD'S I thought I would post this. This is what research I have done before I fitted a LSD to my G6E Turbo.Briefly I have had 2 Typhoons, a BF manual and then a BF Auto. Both had LSD"s however they only had 4000 kms on them when I sold them so they did not have the chance to get lazy. I was told the problem with the standard diff is they use clutches which wear out over time and your LSD gets weaker. Some people quote that the standard open wheeler is good as it will spin both wheels in a straight line.Apparently this is true as modern diffs have a factory preload to act like a LSD, but only if the load is equal ie in a straight line.Once you go round a corner it all goes back to open wheel.I test drove a G6E Turbo and put my foot down around a corner and the inside wheel lit up and the car hit the rev limiter before I could take my foot off again. You can buy a 2nd hand Ford diff cheaper but factory diffs are relatively weak.I was looking at putting a Kazz Dif in my car but was warned by the diff guy that they are vicious but more importantly noisy especially when new. They also need to be run in which is very time consuming requiring lots of medium radious turns.Apparently not many of are roads are generally wide enough to do these medium radiuous turns. The diff guy also told me he put a Kazz in a Typhoon and the guy rang once a week complaining about the noise. It did eventually settle in but took a lot of work.I ended up putting an American Eaton Trutrac/Tractech which did not require any running in and I was told a better all rounder for the G6E.If you want to do burnouts all day long then the Kaaz is fine but for a luxury car and wanting to lock up the rear end under acceleration or cornering I was told the Trutrac was a better all rounder. Both the Kazz and the Trutrac have gear LSD'S and no clutches so it will not get weak over time. Also the guy I dealt with in Brisbane only deals with diffs which I think is good.It was not cheap it cost $2200 fitted but considering the whole back end has to come off to do the job I think it was ok.This is just my opinion on what information I have been given and I can say I am verry happy with the Diff. Regards
  15. Hi all. Does anyone know how to remove the complete console in a FG.I need to remove the rear console vent trim and can see 2 screws facing upwards from the bottom of console into the botton of the rear console fascia.I need to lift the rear of the console up enough to undo these screws.More than likely I will need to remove the console to reach these screws. Regards
  16. Hi Guys. I would like to know if anyone knows how to remove some interior plastic trim parts on my G6E which I would like to do in a woodgrain or carbon fiber finish. Basically all the trim parts. Surround on inside door handles, trim around vents on driver and passenger sides of dash and trim from front armrest up to and including LCD display.I have had a quote from Ford and they said it would depend on the time. Basically no fixed time or price but could cost up to $800 to remove and re install. They said the door trims surround would take the longest as the door trims would have to be taken off to remove the surround. However speaking to a window tinting place they said the inside door handle inserts pop off without taking the door lining off. Also Ford said the radio and LCD surround is a big job as the radio etc are screwed to it.I do not think the job is as hard or as expensive as I have been told.I am happy to do it myself if anyone knows how these inserts come off. Any info would be greatly appreciated Regards FG G6E Turbo
