  1. Thanks Johnny, which type of ATF does he use? And how much for a service / overhaul / full flush do you know? more info would be appreciated Thanks heaps champ So fellas any workshop close to Brisbane Southside or near the city? I'd like second or even third opinions, too, the more the better so other folks with ZF can only benefit from your suggestions too. Keep em' coming' I want to put Fraud Servicing out of business
  2. Getting your car looked after is such a mystery these days, have a guess where?
  3. I think the guy just wants an honest answer, not EVERYBODY wants BIG POWER NUMBERS or POWERGLIDE attached to the cars they drive to work everyday If you did then why not just get yourself a bentley, use the backseat as a bed on more adventurous outings
  4. Transmission workshop? I gather u get yours done there as well C'mon fellas Brisbane's got more to offer, how many xr6t's sold here again?
  5. So nobody on board from the brisbane area? I must be the only one in brizzy with an XR6 Turbo
  6. Southside Representz Any chance of a gathering in Underwood before joining another cruise?
  7. Hi folks Still no luck trying to find a reputable workshop that could service or flush my beloved T's ZF, any Queenslanders here? If so what's a good place to get it looked after? There are thousands of t's in Brisbane for sure but I highly doubt all of them go to for servicing right? suggestions would be appreciated Please do not mention Elite Automotive...I've heard of that one before
  8. Correct, also, u will noticed that even after turning the car off for several hours (winter excluded) the trans oil temp would tend to stay around the 20-30'C mark, so the next time u use the damn vehicle it won't have to work harder than it should to warm it up when u drive off, less is more Do u think I should take my sh*tbox falc00n to BMW though? The ZF TRANS is a piece of sh*t when it comes to servicing (grammatical errors forced me to edit this thread, just once)
  9. Any Queenslanders (brisbane) area that knows a reputable greabox workshop that CAN service the ZF 6 speed? I doubt I'd be driving down southern states just to have the oil changed.
  10. How does fluid change in the ZF require a scan tool? wat the I thought it was just the same as Bimmer u just leave the car running and the gearbox would automatically suck in the fresh fluid from the filler-hole on the right hand side. A minor service of the gearbox only takes a few minutes but 3 hours??????? Unless you mean they charge you for the 3 hour parking at their dealership for a job that could be done in less than 10 min
  11. Sounds awesome, the alloy kit seems like the best thing that ever happened to the ZF 6SP ....wait, its for the ZF 6 speed right? not the BTR Any more comments? keep em' coming
  12. So what do folks think best work on the Barra-Turbo 240/245 the BTR or the ZF? Peeps said 4 speed holds gear longer? wtf
  13. Which gears have shorter ones?
  14. Word is that unless your going to make some big power numbers its better to just swap the heat exchanger units from the F6 spec-r / Territory ones Factory trans cooler has a thermostat working for them so they ensure the car's at constant operating temperature
  15. But you need 9 Litres of Transmax if u're taking off the pan/gasket/filter, 4 litres if its just interval service. I use Penrite SIN ATF, exactly the same one used in Bimmers, I think it works what does everybody here think?
  16. Sweet, shows what mechanical ingenuity can do Maybe afterwards you could be thinking about strengthening the BA rear end (quite weak) ie. maybe source BF bits and pieces, as they have been strengthened, extra bolts, etc. My brain says the next gen falcon will have awd + 3.5 ecoboost like they have in the states, excited?
  17. I've just noticed my T's original cooler is the same colour as the earlier BA seroes (black) instead of the usual grey ones, and it has next to zero air flow! The servicing kit is not cheap is it?
  18. That said...how unlucky I must be, BF II update, last of the BF's and they retro-fitted the BA-XR6T intercooler and the plastic oil/pan...how convenient If folks are suggesting alloy/metal oil/pans what kind of cost are we talking about for the conversion? The question still remains unanswered: Why is it recommended that the factory plastic pan/gasket kit need to be replaced for a new one when getting it serviced?
  19. G'day folks Seems like new Pan and gasket kits are mandatory when it comes to overhauling the ZF 6 speed ATF, is there any reason to not bolt the original units back on for repeated use? Aftermarket Metal pan/gasket kits arn't favoured since the ATF temperature will fluctuate greatly ===> more fluid changes required Lets hear some suggestions shall we?
  20. Evening perhaps, today feels like Saturday
  21. So where's every1 meeting up for a Sunday Stroll?? (weather permitting)
  22. Just a question with an aftermarket trans cooler for the BF 6 speed auto Which product would any of you guys recommend, as the factory unit looks tad dodgy and doesn't seem to hold up well, everytime I change the trans fluid it feels like its pouring lava! 4 speed is easy as u can just route the coolers thru the radiator and back, but with BF 6 speed???? can somebody, anybody elaborate?
  23. If I had a uhf radio but wish to join the cruise later would I be able to do so? how about saturday nights
