  1. I have been told the Wheel bearings at the back are different from the ute/wagon due to it being an IRS design, and are actually part of the differential/drive unit thus cannot be pulled out and greased like the old falcons, can anybody elaborate on that?? I'm also told that the front bearings do not need to be serviced or greased since it is a rear wheel drive vehicle, so is the front wheel bearings a disposable unit?? Help would be appreciated as I'm always being told different things and its bloody annoying
  2. None of the Ford service centres in metrol Brisbane actually provide any services for the ZF transmission Apparently their motto is "if it fvcks up just throw it away and get a new one"
  3. Getting any information from the ZF head office in Sydney will be a pain in the azz, because you will never get the full information Maybe that's because they want you to spend the (now priced) $4500 computer control unit that goes with the transmission (not to mention the price of the transmission itself) Modding with ZF's seem like an bottomless money pit
  4. Anybody got photo's or illustrations on what to look out for? Much help would be appreciated
  5. Assuming stock power levels will prolong the life of the Flexplate, fvcking bullsh1t when it comes to modding cars with auto's But then again unless u're a country boy u don't want to be stuck in city traffic during peak hour trying to drive this beast of a thing with 3 pedals BTW Trough Lolly can you find some threads for me in regards to my diff mount being a bit loose and as far as diagnostics and replacement is concerned. Any tips regarding what to look out for in the diff/bush area as they are quite fragile perhaps??
  6. While we're on the subject of Trans filter/pans, does anybody have problems with the metal pan filter falling out with the BF/FG 6 speed ZF? I have been told to stay away from the metal pan as the aftermarket filter location and size are slightly different to that of the factory plastic ones, resulting in higher operating temperatures and in some cases, the filter dismantled from its location. I have since replaced it with a plastic one but still kept the metal pan for emergency use, does anybody know anything about this??
  7. How many rwkw u reckon them factory ones hold up until they get flogged

  13. LOL as what the title of the thread says I find there's just lack of advice when it comes to recommendations when it comes to workshops in the SEQ QLD/brisbane area, where as there's plenty of support for the other eastern states and even WA I dunno if the lack of support is due to the rare ownership of XR6t's in the QLD area or peeps in fact just surrender and If I had asked for a workshop in vic this thread' be getting 283092785097204570253 replies already

  17. Ahhhh Spoony thanks for the advice champ. So which ATF so far do u think fits best for the Ford ZF I'd be looking for a flush though if I were to put a totally different fluid in there, too much mixing going on there Most workshops in Brizzy just can't be trusted, that's why I NEED to ask for sincere and solid suggestions because in the end I only want what's best for my car. How much are they charging for the nulon fluid anyway may I ask? C'mon folks more suggestions please, remember this isn't just for me but for folks in SEQ area that needs to keep their XR6T's on the road. I'm sure folks here don't want to be outnumbered by HSV's....
