  1. Thanks for the heads up..Would love to get the cooler and shorten the pipes, etc. but dont got the coin. I dont really hit it that hard often just a squirt here and there.. Lag might b the only prob with the standard piping and cooler, right??
  2. Plans are cntr muf. gone, hi-flow cat, 42lb injectors, K&N panel filter, phoon air box add-on, custom tune (using capa flash 2). Do I need to fork out for the cooler and pipes, actuator aswell or is the mods im planning on doing enough for the kind of power levels im chasing??
  3. Im going to frequently check it. I think it could have happened before when it wasn't getting any oil to the turbo bearings giving it abit more play. After changing the oil screen the bearing noise has all but gone with the bonnet up listening for it (whereas b4 it was easily audible with the bonnet down).
  4. Is tightening that clicker behind the rubber gromit when The axle is turned to the right spot a better option. If it is she'll b on the stands tomorrow hate gettin it right but wrong
  5. I've learnt so much from this forum.. I hope this helps someone. Had an annoying metal to metal sound when hittin bumps, reflectors, cracks inthe road you name it, I had to drive with the tunes up load to drown out the tapping noise. Turned out to be the hand break arm/lever thingy that the cable connects to was hitting the break cover. All was done to fix it was tightened the 10mm nut located roughly in the middle of the car to tighten the cable enough so the lever can't touch the brake cover/shield and the wheel still turns freely (easiest way to find the tightening thingY is just follow the hand break cable from the rear breaks toward the front of the car ya can't miss it). Quickest way to check if this fix applies to you is to run over some bumps and pull the hand brake lever up abit and see if the noise goes away.. Ahh peace and quiet finally
  6. Found approx. A 2mm shaft movement side to side. No in out movement. Cleaned turbo filter screen today but read somewhere tonight it's betta to just replace them or go for the aftermarket type going around..DOH! Anyway found a minor score on the housing of the turbo (saw it when doing boost solenoid maint.) should I be worried?? I'm going to keep a close eye on it to see if there is any further scratching but still wouldn't mind some peace of mind don't wanna lose too much sleep thinking my turbo's gunna sh*t itself. Thanx in advance...
  7. I have approx same play doesn't hit housing when shifted by hand, but there is a minor score on the bottom of the housing. Anybody think I should be worried?? I cleaned the turbo oil filter supply thingy successfully only because of all the information available. But I'm paranoid now after seeing that little score that things are gunna turn ugly..
  8. Got the center muffler moved yesterday. Done with two flanges and mandrel bends in 2.5" with two hot dogs. Ttl cost $254.00. At Windsor Exhaust, Richmond fellas there know what there doing would never regret sending someone there.I was told that the muffler is reduced internally to 2 2" inch bits so that would play a part in some restriction. I think its a fair price sounds much deeper but not too loud, they have a gr8 exhaust note anybody thinking of doing this dont think twice you'll love it. When shifting down gears the car gives off a neat little burbble which is very easy to get used to .Admittedly it is a little noiser on start up but not in a bad way it sounds beefy. Hope this helps in some way thanks for all the info guys . The only mods I have is 10psi Generic tune from CAPA and the typhoon add-on for the air box with K&N filter panel and blow off valve is no longer the stock plum back it goes to atmospher but has a little filter on it preventing anything being sucked it when car is just over idle. All together with these simple mods the car sounds and goes gr8. (Looking 4ward to bigger injectors and fuel pump for the custom tune and a clutch that will frickin hold it all together)
  9. After looking around I'm guessing I would have approx 235-240rwkw. I don't tend to drop the clutch or anything but do enjoy boosting through the gears but not race changing so to speak. The joint where I bought my 2nd hand car is about to do a warranty job on my clutch as I have only owned it for 1 week and the clutch is slipping in 4th gear up. Only today was I able to have a go in 4th and 5th both times it hit boost it slipped pretty bad. I don't know the life it had b4 me but after warranty I'm expecting it to be good as new has anyone else with roughly the same (235rwkw) had any probs with their clutch or am I just lucky.
  10. hmm dont wont to blow my new baby up wats a reasonable price for a dyno to check this worth.
  11. Nope checked the boot nobody there...?
  12. When accelerating over 4000rpm at 10psi there is a noise coming from what sounds the back right of the car it sounds like a vibation coming from a loose guard but I checked everywhere and nothing feels loose. I am worried it could b the fuel pump not copeing but I'm not sure just taking a guess as I have heard these have read somewhere these have a weak fuel pump.
  13. Thanks mate good to know :spoton one more thing I have been doing a heap of searching and reading but can't find anyonE that has had this next little pickle , when boosting at say 4500rpm through at 10psi I can here a vibrating noise, sounds like a plastic vibration noise coming from the rear of the car but nothing is loose.

  16. Hi all driving a BF 05 Turbo. Awesome car only I noticed when taking off in 1st gear (T56 6spd man.) it has a slight vibration kind of a noise and it clears when I get up to about 2500rpm. I could be over analysing the whole thing but was wondering if anybody had noticed this with their manual cars. It kind of sounds like the noise when you say turn round a round about in 3rd with revs lowish and take off. Ive tried taking off at different revs in 1st gear to see if it goes away.
