  1. I just wrote Intune Motorsport into the search and have read just about everything everyone has sed
  2. you may need to look around in some other forums I.e vl, skylines, etc, etc to get the answer your looking for seems they are pretty good considering the price your paying.
  3. Not totally with what your saying but it looks like its coming from where the head and block join together, starts approx. 1 inch from the front and goes for approx 3-4 inches towards the back.
  4. One thing I forgot to add is there is a small weeping oil leak on the passenger side of the car toward the front of the motor between the head and the block. Although I have noticed this a while ago there really isnt that much oil there at all just like a residue dust collector. This obviously needs to be repaired but tuner reckons it is a very small amount of oil there and since its been there for a while its not worth repairing unless it gets any worse.
  5. Yeah mate spot on. I also noticed the dipstick bracket bolt wasnt tight either
  6. After having a good look around the engine bay I found the hose clamp that clamps the small rubber joiner @ the throttle body to the to the standard crossover to be totally loose as in never tightened up. I hope this is the reason he was having a hard time getting power out of it.. Only thing is it hasnt popped off the fitting. So I cant be sure its definatelty loosing boost through there, being 14psi I dont know if that would be enough to let air escape. Is it possible that this could be contributing to the power drop I had when I got the car retuned?? I am taking it back to him on monday to get it checked out on the dyno after it is tightened up. It would give me gr8 peace of mind knowing this was the cause of the power drop and not the piston failing
  7. I was having a look around in the engine bay today and noticed exactly what you have stated did you find anything out? any info about this ?
  8. With getting the engine rebuild I would be planing on taking the engine out myself and refitting myself which will hopefully save some coin
  9. Thanx for your input HIROF6 that rules out one of my options. Just wondering on ppls thoughts on is it betta to recondition the motor I have now (new pistons, rods, head gasket and headwork) or buy a second hand BF mk 2 motor with minimal km's. Honestly after driving around with 320rwkw I know this sounds abit soft but Id only really be aiming for around 350rwkw. Im trying to do this (as everyone sez) relatively cheap as im not in a position to spend a gr8 deal (just bought another house).. Thanks for your opinions and help guys this is the first time ive ever had to worry about a motor failure like this so a little guidance will go along way.
  10. Have a good run tonight fellas stay safe I wish I could of come are well see yose on the next one hopefully
  11. Thanks I didnt know about the mismatch problem. I dont think ive got too long before the motor in it is going to sh1t itself the motorwas making a fairly rattley noise this morning. Does the lower compression pistons work as a disadvantage as is are they weaker when wanting to push around 350-400rwkw will the motor have to work harder to say get the same result as a BF mk 2 or is it basically same sh1t different smell so to speak. In the way of buying a motor I think I would rather buy something with low km's and hasnt already been tinkered with just as a safety precaution. I like the idea of the shorter intercooler pipes if I was to go with the fg full motor although if the pistons arent as good as the bf mk 2 motor then I wount bother I would rather a stronger motor.
  12. After getting the wastegate bored and bigger act. + flapper the tuner advised me whilst tuning that the car was struggling to make the same power as the last time he tuned it he thinks its a piston leaking. The quote for new forged pistons, rods head gasket, and billet oil pump, retune came to $8000 which I cannot afford.Ok so simply put im trying to find which bottom end is better and why. I was told that the pistons in the fg xr6t werent as tough as the bf mk2 (after 06/06 of course) but I dont believe everything I hear (not to be negative). The reason I ask is Im trying to weigh up whether to get a new fg xr6 t short block from fraud or get a complete bf mk 2 preferably with low low km's from a wreckers or even a fg xr6 turbo motor which would give me the advantage of having the "plenum" so to speak and sell my existing motor as complete or parts wateva. All in all im assuming it would pretty much cost the same either way to do any of the 3 conversions
  13. thanks fellas,it was a good thing he didnt blow it up on the dyno trying to get results but I believe im on borrowed time.. not going to hijack thread moving to general
  14. I have to pull out problems with my motor. Got the wastegate bored bigger flapper etc, etc.. When it came to tuning again he said the car was finding it very hard to make the power it did b4 Apparently something about piston skirt could have fine cracks or some crap I don't really know so back to 287rwkw and I'm going to take it a little easy till I can sought it out. Absolutely shattered as it goes u play u pay
  15. which made it hard to
  16. my bov is vented with filter. I noticed when I back off under throttle light or heavy I obviously get the ppsssccchh sound but it also happens under very light/light consistant throttle say going up a long hill it will ppssssscccchhh the whole way. As soon as I give the peddle abit more of a dab it stops. Its running 14psi but I dont think that should really have much of an effect at low revs light throttle. My qustion is my bov stuffed or is this normal
  17. atleast u can just chuck it on the dyno usually costs about 100 buck give or take just to get a read out and see what going on afr's etc then youll know if its safe or not. Does it literrally only happen at 140kph and is that booting it all the way from standstill
  18. get a 5 inch 100 cell cat n remove centre muffler might want to put hot dogs in but its a personnel preference thing theres a few articles around about it
  19. slaughtered
  20. buggers wont play it till 24hrs later
  21. Does anyone know if the origin can be watched streaming no TV at work thanks in advance
  22. ive done something similar to this I had a few under the belt and needed to the car out of the back shed for my brother, dialled it up with TC on and dropped it no wheel spin hmmm in my drunkin stupidity not realising TC was on gave it more revs and tried again . I had the same symptoms as u have + a smell that lingered in the A/C vents for over a week. The roughness went away aswell as the smell. A few weeks later and it only a memory.
  23. stoopid thing wouldnt let me edit didnt realise ya had a generic tune oops but none the less good stuff with ya mod mate sounds like your a happy chappy
