  1. Jeezuz this fellas gettin stomped on.. Personally I went the bigger cat (tuned) and centre muf gone and I think it sounds gr8 for what I payed. But yeah as others have said the 4" might b ok too but they start to sound a little like a truck IMO.
  2. Is it just me or r ppl havin a hard time loggin in from the puter

  4. I had a bent intake blade due to a rubber joiner failure. Took the turbo in and he replaced everything but the shaft and the zorst impeller.. After refitting the turbo and checking all the connections and intercooler pipes were tight (double checked) it's now running 3-4psi lower than before....?? It's more than lost it's edge. What could cause something like this?
  5. thanks for the laugh fellas love ya work
  6. 7 weeks till license is back. Push bikes suck

  7. that's some helpful info cheers fellas I'll try'em out tomorrow. Thanks Brendan
  8. I cant think of anything else that could have done it except it could have sucked some other junk in there, they'd be a gr8 vacuum cleaner. I'll never really know until I pull everything apart it's gunna be a bitch to find. Ive attached a pic anyway just to remind us wat happens when we let'em go for a while.
  9. Ive been quoted so far $2750 for a new turbo fitted and $1800 for replacing eveything but the housings. Is this typically the right sort of money or can I do better??
  10. Wishful thinking perhaps.. thanks for the constructive posts as always turbotrana keep up the good work
  11. Hey fellas.. I was driving home this morning when I could here A kind of whizzing sound. When I got home I pulled the intake pipes off to find the rubber joiner that joins the turbo to the standard crossover piping had sh1t itself and split nearly in 2. Im taking punt and saying that apart of the rubber had gone through the blades and slightly bent 1 of the blades. The blade is only slightly bent. Its a shame I didnt think of taking a pic today b4 I went to work but I will upload 1 tomorrow. As I said the blade is only slightly bent about 0.5 - 1mm out but enough to cause the whizzing sound. I believe I could probly starighten the blade with the correct tools but obviously it wouldnt be as true as it was. Has anyone ever tried to straighten a blade and been succesful?? I totally understand that I could be at risk but I'm am weighing up my options dont drive my car for the time it takes me to save up or have a go.. Thanks in advance for any help avail. I will post a piccy tomorrow.
  12. just lost his license.. DOH!!

  13. No probs thanks fellas I'll stay well clear of boosting just needed to limp it to the tuners so to speak.
  14. Mine does this to. Get yourself one of these asap FALCON XR6 F6 TURBO OIL SUPPLY BRAIDED LINE KIT FILTER - eBay Turbos, Superchargers, Performance Parts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 02-Aug-10 15:12:42 AEST) The standard filter for the turbo oil supply line is tiny if or when you get the kit throw it over your shoulder. Here how to get to your oil supply line filter http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32461&st=0 When I heard this noise I freaked aswell. I ended up timing the turbo wind down for some reason. Anyway I could hear it wind down for about 25sec. After changing the oil supply line and filter with the aftermarket one I timed it again and now I can hear it wind down for almost 1min. If you can, take off the intake pipe to the turbo. There is another pipe you will have to take off aswell as it is just in the way. Presuming its a B series car all you will need is a 7mm socket (unless hose clamp has been changed then its usually an 8mm). Check the turbo impeller once it has cooled down for shaft play. Basically left to right, up and down, in and out there shouldnt be much more play than about 1mm side to side and virtually nothing in and out. Check for scrathes too. I have a very small scratch on the inside of mine but over about 8months hasnt got any worse watsoeva + im running higher boost. Im by far no expert on this stuff just spent plenty of time reading through forums. Good luck
  15. Another idea would be to remove centre muffler and replace with 2 x 2.5inch with resonators. Then later if u need to save coin possibly retain the centre piece if you were to go say custom 4inch dump with 2x 2.5's. That is what I have done exhaust note sounds pretty good.. This was the original plan for myself but I gotta deal with another exhaust that I cant refuse.
