  2. awsome!! thanks for the help, can measure the threads and work it out
  3. finally recieved my cobalt oil pressure gauge but have a query, how do people on here hook them up to the motor? mine has a oil pressure sender like there is in the side of the block but is this alright?? I have the feeling if I use this sender and disconnect the standard one it might bring the oil light on the dash? any help is greatly appreciated
  4. I have a line level converter ready for the job, was considerin runnin the speaker wires from the icc purely to the line level and runnin new wire for now to the speakers from the head unit and when I get a suitable amp then runnin the wires from the amp to the speakers
  5. anyone noticed when these utes are lowered they seem to be a lil bit uneasy in the back end?? mine is sometimes when hitting potholes but I can throw it hard into a corner and it just turns.. weird.. only since it was lowered
  6. so have my headunit, went the alpine ida-x305s, gonna run a LLC to use the ICC as a aux input but also lookin at a 5 channel amp with full speakers and a sub down the track but for now was thinkin about how to hook up the factory speakers to the headunit. was considering running new cable from the HU to the speakers and retain the factory wiring from the ICC but thought it may have noise.due to both using the same speakers.. any thoughts??
  7. As the topic suggests I am after some elp with choosing a sub for my ute, will run a seperate amp so after peoples experience on what works, have alpine hu and will get speakers so a full alpine package would be great but whatever works Thanks
  8. Well alpine special price of 500 ill take the 300 one lol. I think I saw a wiring diagram on here somewhere but im thinkin now of runnin new wires to the headunit or the amp if I get one and just run the icc wires to the line converter makin it nice and neat
  9. Haha eBay I got it through. Thought it was in the country but was overseas, should have it by the weekend and was 300 shipped!! Thanks for the help, will have a look tonite and get the last few bits and if you have a guide to hook it all up that would be sweet!!
  10. Issue resolved now. Found out that the second gear band is f***** the gearbox changes from 1st to third and that's all. No overdrive
  11. Glad to hear you have some direction to fix ya issues mate. Dunno why ford or the other guy who looked at it couldn't see it. Did it ever throw a engine light on the dash?
  12. So I have bought an alpine iDA-X305S head unit, I have read somewhere that it is possible to run the icc through the head unit as an aux input. How would this be achieved? Not the greatest audio expert but can do some basic stuff
  13. What bout a cat?? Mentioned the dump and exhaust but no cat? I'd guess it already has one
  14. So reading on this forum somewhere I read that the icc can be hooked directly into a aftermarket head unit as an aux connection.. Has anyone attempted this? And I guess this would mean that the Headunit could be wired up with an amp and upgraded speakers and that the icc would play better?? Audio isn't a strong point as you may gather haha
  15. Hmm so how would the speakers be wired up with the aux using the icc? Through the headunit or icc still?
  16. Fluid is fine, had to dry fill the converter also, will check the plugs again but im almost certain they are right.. Just out of ideas
  17. So here is one for the guys who know heaps about autos, replaced the auto in my old xg ute cos it was basically shagged, the auto I bought is from a reputable wreckers in my area, ment to have had a service filter kit in it, looks like new extension housing seal too. Took it for a drive tonite for the first time and its in my book no good. Auto is harsh to say the least in gear changes when it will change, torque converter feels like its locked in from the start (engine sounds like its workin overtime) only way I can get it to change gears without revvin the hell out of it, which I didnt do, is back off and accelerate again and it seems to change alrite doing that. Tried ahifting manually but it wont change either. So thoughts guys?? Im not a real auto trans specialist personally but my experience says I need to pull it out again and get another one
  18. Cheers, so one more question, so how is everyone holding their gauges in the holder, I got an saas twin gauge holder but no way to hold the gauges in the holder..
  19. Thanks guys, big help, one more thing, where has everyone mounted the boost sender?
  20. So I've searched the forums looking for the info I require but it seems 95% of guys here run mechanical boost gauges where I plan to run all electronic. Im usin auto meter coalt gauges, boost and oil pressure but Im at a loss as to how to wire the gauges properly. An earth will be easy to find, key on power I'm not sure about and also where to hook the boost sender upto.. Plan to run the wires out of the grommet on the left hand side of the icc, gonna get a speco oil filter adapter for the oil pressure but yeah any help is greatly appreciated
  21. Not a problem, glad to be of assistance
  22. Thanks ratter, would only be doin the highway k's but was worried about it overboostin goin up hills haha
  23. the pipe that goes to the bottom rad hose looks alrite, I think even another mechanic would say its ok, from the pics it seems to just have a bit of surface corrosion. the intercooler piping should be ok, its only plastic and unless there is visible signs that the acid has eaten into the piping I wouldnt worry too much about it, for safety sake I wuld replace the hose clamps on the piping. the battery vent as far as I know just goes straight down as its only a vent so no damage should be down there. good luck with the claim,. you may need it. but all in all a check from a mechanic might be a helpful idea
  24. haha na I dont trust me, didnt like seein a bit of black out the back so now its just waitin till I an get what I need to get it tuned
  25. hey ratter, I have a generic tune from capa, plan to do a cat and turbo back just before I get it tuned (3 hour drive to the nearest tuner) would it be safe just to put down the highway with this tune purely so it wont overboost on the factory tune. mind you, I only run 98 octane and wontbe swapping injectors myself, will wait till its there to do that. and for the record, my capa tune is for a bog stock car and I use it maybe.. 5% of driving if its lucky..
