  1. Awesome guys, thanks for the pics. I reckon based on that I might just go with painting the stock rims black. Cant really afford to go for after market rims or dark agents right now but I like the look of the stock rims in black. Thanks again, problem solvered. Andrew.
  2. Have and FG XR6T and was thinking of painting/powder coating the stock turbo/XR8 wheels flat black or maybe body colour. I have the silhouette (black metallic) paint. Just wondering if anyone has done this or has any pics. Trying to get a handle on what it might look like. Alternatively if anyone can photoshop something would be appreciated.
  3. Upgraded from a WRX and a string of V8 Holdens the last of which was VX2 R8 to a FGXR6T Man. First Ford and absolutely loving it. Test drove the VE Bogan special etc and ended up buying the T sight unseen and without actually having driven one. (mate has a BF Phoon so had some idea) Coomodore just dint stack up either in price, equipment spec, performance or looks.
  4. Had mine FG T Manual for a month or so now and on occasions does seem a little dull. Certainly doesn't feel as quick as I remember the first test drive being. Nearly lost if coming out of the dealer, the rear snapped out in first and completely caught me by surprise. Seemed intense for the first week. now seems fast when you're really up it. Took it for drive through some twisty stuff on the weekend and have a new found respect for it. It is a blast to drive, keep it in second or third and on boost and it is very quick and handles way better than than the R8 clubsport it replaced. Overall great family car that the wife can drive during the week but still provides entertainment on the weekends. In stock trim they are a great compromise if you can only have one car. I am now thinking of looking for a worked of its nut BA for fun only, no family duties.
  5. 07/09 XR6T Man avge around town 15.3l/100km. Must be flogging it
  6. I have just insured with AAMI for the first time, 32 yr old spotless driving history rating one for life 07/09 FG XR6T Manual Agreed value $42k, $590 a year using their on-line system. No one else came close. Having said that if you ring for a quote and organise it over the phone they were about $200pa dearer. I guess they are trying to encourage people to use their on-line service. Also upped the excess to $1200 to get the price down.
  7. Just Purchased a Demo with 1200k on the clock. FG XR6T Black, manual with Tech pack and premium sound for $42k on road with 12 Months Reg. July 09 Build. Shopped around a fair bit online and spoke to a fair few dealers, that was about the best price I could get. Regards employee discounts, I don't know about Ford but I used to work for Expensive Daewoo and could get 33% off new cars and another $3k off because I had a Expensive Daewoo Mastercard. So if Ford are anything similar some of the prices mentioned above like $35k etc are well and truly possible.
