Forget it. It's generally low budget try hards that want to mock-up their GLi's / XT's to become some sort of pseudo ( did I spell that right ? ) performance superstars. Keep them as the performance gods ( or not ) intended. I dont mid subtle personalisation, but STI rear wings on NA XR6ers just looks plain silly. ( apologies if the owner of said XR is a forum member )
Washing my car at the servo the other day (dam water restrictions - still use a sponge though) a guy in a late 80's Porsche pulled up behind waiting for his turn in the wash bay. Get this, he asks all about my T. Even Porsche drivers notice. MMMMMMMM.
$50 seems to be the going rate so I'll kick in the same. Great site and I want to make sure it continues. Love your work! Can I pleeeease be allowed off training wheels now??
I saw one the other day- it actually looked Ok. Yeah maybe similiar to a GM color. Speaking of GM, I saw a Monaro yesterday being delivered to a dealer in what could only be described as a poor mans blueprint! Not flash at all. Am I off training wheels yet?
2 subs doesnt automatically make 2 times as much base. Sub selection gets very technical and many factors will influence the performance of the subs: are they free air, is the polarity of both subs the same, have they been sized to suit the enclosure/boot.??? Am I off training wheels yet???
I hope they dont up the T to 260kw or more for some time yet as all it does is devalue the cars of series 1 owners. Ford continually did that with the AU and ask any AU series 1 XR8 owner how hard it is to offload their cars now at a reasonable price. I hope the changes they make to the T in series 2 are cosmetic only. That aside, it sh*ts me that there is a better Ford on the road than what I have. Geez I hate that!!
I bought my T just recently. I paid $44K as an auto, with leather and roof. I picked it up as a demo but it had just 250kms on it. I was also eligible for a national fleet discount and the same car brand new would have been $47K. The price sounds Ok as long is it is for a 2004 build. If it is a 2003 build, you need to do better. Enjoy!!
Ah, a man with taste. It was a VCT manual. Went pretty well and I got nearly $22K when I sold it last month. It never let me down. Now that said, the BA is is such a step up in comfort, ride, its a complete package.
I am with the brothers on AU1 XR's. Best of an average looking lot by a long way and mine was trouble free for over 4 years. It was a great car. Looked ggod too! Pic attached.
Thanks very much for the feedback. I am really weary of my warranty being such a new car - I guess everyone is in the same boat. The C&V day - is that in Syd or Melb?? Luke.
First post on this great site. I havea 3000km old XR6T auto and I reckon it is under powered. Too slow off the line and would be lucky to pull mid 14's probably. In hindsight should have bought a manual but sh*t happens and I have to live with it now. I want advice on some entry level mods, nothing too serious, but good for high 13's and discreet - I dont want the gents at the local Ford dealer to be able to detect it. It still needs to be as driveable as it is today, just a little quicker. Any experiences with the APS stage 1 kit in an auto would be appreciated. Thanks all.
