Currently been looking for a BF/BFII Xr6T on and off for a few months. Thought I had 1 but was snapped up before I got a chance to get it, and same a second time around. Looking for a stock / slightly modded one with manual 6 speed. Picky about colours though, I dont think I could tolerate citrus/acid/bionic/white ones. Would prefer Phantom/Seduce/Ego/Silhouette. If anyone knows of any, carsales doesnt seem to have much at the moment.

Personally, I didnt want him back in. The period where he was driving was boring. Either he was winning, or team mate was letting him win on team orders. Boring. Since he has been gone, its got somewhat exciting. Different winners, different teams winning, and loser Hamilton just doing that. So its been good. About time Webber had some points (more than the usual 5 a season) and even a win. And to see Brawn GP winning the first few was good, a team written off at the end of last year, coming out of the box and winning. Yes its Ross Brawn, but its not Ferrari. So its been an exciting F1 this year. Once KERS is gone, then it will be back to some equal racing.

1968 XT Fairmont, Polar White, 3sp auto column shiuft, 221ci Was my parents for 28 years before I got it. I crashed it when I was 12 trying to drive up and reverse back down the driveway. I didnt know the steering bit harder when in reverse, and took out one of the poles holding up the carport. Did some front panel damage, but painted over it in white house paint. painted the pole back to its brown colour. Parents didnt find out for a few weeks until they noticed the caved in front corner panel. They werent happy. It sait in the back yard for about 2 years before I got to it when I turned 18. It did anything and everything. Single spinner Burnouts, rallying in the country near Echuca, driving on 2 side wheels at some ridiculous speed. People thought Id die in it. It was nicknamed the Falcon of Death. Some friends wouldnt even get in it. But I atleast took my driving serious, even if it was speeding. Had set fastest times from Frankston to Bundoora (home to uni trip) than no one I knew had come close to. It was an awesome car. I think I had 7 engines in it. The original was pretty seized when I got it from sitting around neglected for so long. Then bought old engines friends had lying around. Would blow the top off one and the bottom out of another, then combine the rest etc etc. Finally I have a stable 2v 250ci frim my mates XY Falcon. It was finally running well! Then one day, my parents lost the plot, and signed up for a white ZL Fairlaine, and they signed the XT over as a trade in. I was devastated. Then they said the Fairlaine was for me. I was shattered. I didnt want a grandpa mobile with its comfy suspension and electric windows. I wanted a speed machine. They had it converted to LPG also, and it never ran any good on anything. On LPG it would backfire, blow rubber pipes from the ECU to manifold, and warp the metal flaps in the ECU internals. And they were like $750 second hand. On fuel it would start but stall if you didnt keep your foot in it. Soon after I bought my ED XR6, 5spd, Cobalt Blue, fact sunroof. Still have it today. It was an awesome beast. Until a bolt holding the cam gear snapped and the gear went sideways, and suddenly there was a mess of rockers and parts all over. Since then it has never been running well even after a rebuild. have an EL Xr6 engine on hold that is waiting to be dropped in. Just need to find a good mechanic to do it in Brisbane for me!

My ED xr6 needs a heart replacement. I have access to an EL xr6 engine but I think it needs a new head gasket. Anyone know a decent mechanic in Brisbane who could do the transplant for me?

I deal with alot of police through work, and there is mixed commentaries. Alot are Expensive Daewoo guys and some are Ford guys. The Expensive Daewoo ones tend to go for the SS's. I did hear one report of one of each being lined up and tested out with the XR6T leaving the SS for dead up to about 250kmh. Apart from that, some prefer the ride in either one, nearly a 50/50 each way bet there. One comment is that the FG is a great car and is the better of the two, just the 'plasticy' feel to the interior with certain trims and the like coming off. The state traffic have just got a buncg of new XR6Ts in different colours... and they look nice. One brand new Expensive Daewoo ute did come in though, only a week old. Turned the car off, and the starter kicked in and kept trying to crank it over till smoke come out of it. We had to kill the battery to get it to stop. I think it was returned numerous times for electrical issues in the first month.

QUOTE (ebxmple @ Aug 2 2009, 07:09 PM) Expensive Daewoo are doing what losers do and have found no other choice but to buy some champions and a champion team. It was a bit sus with the hrt heaps of sh*t coming 1 2 today. Whincup looked right at home already with his new I <3 Bananas mates. I think you missed the point there. He said Expensive Daewoo have steal the whole team, not as you put it 'setup a new team' and just steal a driver like Ford did. Lowndes was a Ford boy in the first place with his Ford Cortina. Some people would have raced for HRT like he did, I personally would not have as my blood is Blue and wouldnt even drive one as a company car. But he did and he came back to Ford years later. I think this whole thing about blue colour is ridiculous. Yes Fords colour is blue, but when someone like 888 is racing a Falcon, who really cares what colour it is. A few ford badges on it, and a windscreen sticker should suffice. I remember how awesome the 00 AU Falcon looked in black and silver with the green headlights... where was the blue on that car? I dont care if it was a red or fluoro orangey looking car, it was still a Falcon which looked good and was winning. I think Ford missed the point there. 888 financially didnt seem to be doing too bad, and considering being the main Ford team that most fans seem to follow, the merchandise sales must have made up for it. I dont think I have bought any DJR stuff for some time, and I think the last SBR thing I bought was an Ingall Caltex dress shirt. The last few years it always been 999 merchandise. If they think they can maintain that dominance in merchandise going to Expensive Daewoo I will be amazed. With the Expensive Daewoo fans having so many teams to support anyway, im sure HRT or Toll teams already have some monopoly on merchandise, and itsnt likely to change too much. V8 supercars going to Channel 7 was the first straw of me losing interest, their commentary is rubbish and I find myself only wanting to listen to Crompo. Skaifes voice annoys me. Now with the team that has made it exciting for me to watch in the last few years defecting, I find it hard to try and follow anything else really.
