  4. Hello, Yes the button clutch takes a bit of getting used too that's for sure I have had the car back about a week, getting of the line smoothly is a bit of a challenge, as the clutch tends to grab and shudder on the last bit of the clutch pedal. As for the 5 speed well I wont give it too much of a rough time but if she pops then T56 will go in if that happens. if I am rolling in 3rd gear and give it a hit as soon as I see 3500-4000 Rpm she breaks traction anyway if the TC is off haha :-) So I think my sh*t tyres will save the 5 Speeder for a while.
  5. Tune,Exhuast,Intercooler,injectors, Valve springs & 13psi boost will make 300 + KW easy
  6. Hey Guys, Just had a new clutch fitted and a Tune done on my 2002 BA XR6T (Manual) and I am now putting 325 at the rears!!! mods done to my car are..... 8. Yes it should be ok if you drive normally, and just give it the occasional boot, smooth launches and smooth gear changes will save the gearbox for sure, But dumping off the line is what kills them they dont like the shock. Mine have 123K on it too but I bought it from a dealer with 92K on the clock and the box failed after 1 month so had it replaced for nothing under stat warranty. So mine is new and its done 31k with normal driving and the occasional boot of the line :-), T56 would be nice though but $3850 for a conversion.
  9. I have 278 rwkw with a T5 and its ok so far! My clutch does slip in 3rd-5th gear though so I guess that's saving the gearbox a bit. But its like anything if you give it a hard time everytime you drive it it wil eventually break. I think mal wood does T56 conversion for around $3850 if you want to be on the safe side. I also know a guy with a BA Ute that was running 400 rwkw with a T5 and it lasted a little while he told me he ran a special gearbox oil in it but dont remember exactly what it was.
  10. I Have a T5 XR6 T with 278 rwkw and its ok, it all depends on how you drive the car too!!! I will say though my tyres that I have arent that great either and break traction easy which I think saves the load on the gearbox too, I have read that the main killer of a T5 is hard launches. If you dont abuse it too much then it will be ok, but if you want to drag race people in sh*tty commodores and Jap buzz boxes on a regular basis then yes the T5 will pop for sure even with a standard engine.
  11. Hey guys, have a bit of a problem with my BA XR6T manual when I press the brake pedal 4-5 times quickly the engine soon stalls after. I not quite sure where to start but it indicates to me there is a vac leak somewhere, or the brake booster is on its way out. and sometimes if I come up the the traffic lights on the brake the engine will almost stall too, Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  12. In my personal opinion I would go the GT, But it would be on looks alone. As for the GS I have heard the motor just runs a different tune to the GT, But if I was spending that sort of money on a car you are better off getting what you want and not going for something less!! If your heart says GT then the choice is easy GT GT GT GT. If you get the GS you will be thinking I should have got the GT. I would get an ex demo too with low K's as you can save a lot of money and get one that has been optioned up with better brakes etc for around $64K to $69K. My choice Black GT with the gold stripes and bin the stock 19"s and get aftermarket 20"s.
