  1. Steve you'll kill it mate. Your right when you say if I can do it anyone can do it. When I pulled off the hose and realised I had the whole length of hose in my hand I must admit that I began to sweat like Mal Meninga after full time but I have learnt from it. And the next thing I'm going to tackle is a plug change following the step by step directions posted with pictures on this site. Wish me luck I'm gonna need it. I'll give myself plenty of time and get it right I hope Cheers Mark..Fords Rule
  2. Did mine today and I can't use a spanner I'm that useless when it comes to anything mechanical and have hands like boxing gloves. Anyway I gave it a go and was going good until I pulled the hose off and found I had a whole length of hose in my hand not knowing where HECK the other end came from. So after myself thinking the worse I just settled myself down with a cuppa and went back under the bonnet and found the nipple under the turbo and put 2 and 2 together and reconnected it after I WD40ed the solenoid and hose. Then I put everything back together went for a run and I did notice a BIG difference. I have 77.000ks on her so I'd say it was long overdue. As for a 10 minute job!!! Not for passion fingers here more like 45 minutes but I'm pleased I gave it a go as it was well worth it. So thank you for posting this topic and for everyones input I really appreciated it and I just love this site and its members experiences and helpful tips on car maintenance. Keep up the good work. Cheers Mark..Fords Rule
  3. Use run flat tyres and then theres no need for spare tyre wheel brace or jack.
  4. That looks great well worth the effort can't see it from a distance wouldn't know you had a guard on. Cheers FORDS RULE
  5. I was using Nulon Pro Octane Boost and when my mechanic changed my plugs he said to stop using it as it was leaving a tarnish on them. He's not just a back yard mechanic either but a competition race engine builder with a high reputation in the business so I just use BP ULTRA now only. No tarnish on the plugs since I stopped using the Octane boost sometime back now. I don't do any track work so Octane Boost isn't necessary anyway for me. PS.... Got a mate with a GTR R35 and he was doing the same as I was and checked his plugs and has now stopped using the Octane Boost and he was putting in 3 bottles of the stuff on some occasions at once. Food for thought anyway. Cheers Mark. FORDS RULE
  6. I'm sick of looking at my ugly "ECU" Would someone like to organize a group buy on some ECU COVERS. I have seen Metal ones and the Black plastic sort. There could be others out there people might have seen that we could Group buy? We should be able to get the numbers up given all the models listed here are of the same size (I'm pretty sure on that but not 100%) The ECU COVERS would suit all FALCON BA BF FG XR6 XR8. Now I might just mention this as I might have it all wrong It has just occurred to me that my 03 BA had a ECU cover on it. But I don't know if it was a standard cover or aftermarket one. All I know is my 06 BF hasn't got a cover on it. Should it have had one? I can't see any lug holes that would have supported it Anyway if all the models don't have a cover I think it could be a good group buy option. Just my 2 cents worth. Cheers Mark. FORDS RULE

  8. I had my car tinted 20% on the sides and 25% on the rear window in metallic tint 1 week ago and I have had no problems with am or fm reception. Previously it was done in non metallic and although it didn't bubble it went fuzzy to look out of the windows, especially bad was the rear window and I couldn't stand it any longer so I got the new tint done.
  9. I remember the times when Ex chasers were well sort after and actually dearer than the stockies because they were chipped up and had bigger brakes and beefed up suspension. Way back then you use to have a plug in the roof so that was a dead giveaway that you were in a Ex chaser, and the drivers seat was sometimes more worn out because of the big utility belts they wore. I think with all used cars there are some benefits ,price being one of them as you can save heaps on the new car drive out the lot depreciation that the new car buyer cops. I personally would not have a problem with buying an Ex chaser if the right one came my way as stated before you at least know they had a good service history and low K'S and are usually still under warranty. PS sorry about the quote box above my post I'm new to posting and still learning how to post properly and couldn't work out how to post without the last posters quote appearing so I would like someone to tell me how I can post without the above quote box appearing with my post please. Just noticed the fast reply box further down the page do I post in that section?
