I was going to install the premium sound system ( it doesnt have the climate controls in it I believe but it is the larger colour screen type, with the entire fascia, heater controls etc )this weekend but ended up selling my ute today. I just sold my xrt turbo ute after having it just two months. Lost about 4 grand. I would keep looking as the others have suggested. Its a buyers market for sure.

my window trims, the ones at the base of teh drivers and passengers windows are looking crap. Where can I get new ones ? part numbers if needed from fraud ?

I was wondering if anybody has modified the crappy cheap looking surround/selector for the Ba type auto. Im thinking of getting a leather surround made up to cover the silver plastic bit. I realise you cant read the gear selector but hey, there is only PRN and D, how hard can that be ? Its not like the old autos where there was 123 and D. Anyway was just wondering if anybody had done something like that. Also would a later model knob fit ? I'm just trying to upgrade interior to have a bit more of a classy leather feel. Have ordered an FPV wheel and premium ICC this week.

What size torx bit do I need ? and does the shroud around the steering column need to come off as I cant see/feel and screws behind the wheel ?

Im a complete idiot when it comes to technical stuff like electronics. I am installing a premium sound icc into my ute and would like to be able to plug my ipod into it to play movies. Is this possible ? does the thingamajigga allow that to happen. I have an output cable for my ipod that has three RCA plugs on it ? any good for this ? So many questions, so little knowledge.

Hey Jason, Sorry mate. Just checked in and got your message. I paid $850 for it through ebay. I will let you know how the install goes. I would really like to wire it up to play my ipod movies but maybe that's hoping for too much ? Still I did read you could adapt RCA plugs to one but it sounds way out of my technical depth. Whats the go with these RGB converters how do they work ( this is a general question Jason not aimed at you......unless you know ) Anyway Jason thanks for the black lines, I had a chuckle when I saw them. thanks for the response guys. I read the post regarding the install and it will work without any re-coding. The unit has had a reset by ford so apparently its just plug in, it matches to my car and away it goes. Will be interesting to see how it works.

Hi, I am replacing my standard radio with the premium sound system. Apparantly its just a plug in deal ? Can you give me any tips on removing the centre unit that holds the radio in. where do I start ? the screws seem fairly well hidden ? Thanks heaps Darryl

My Ba turbo came with an Xr8 bonet and the standard bonet too. The original owner who I purchased the car from had it installed when new by the dealer. If some moron had not dropped the original xr6 turbo bonet on one of its rear edges I would replace it tomorrow. I dont like the xr8 bonet. If somebody wants to swap a balisitc coloured ba bonet for an xr8 one with a cash adjustment I would be happy to do so. What do you think the chances of the paint matching would be ? The spray painter told me to repair the original bonet I would have to respray the guards to match...damn I hate metalic paint.

Excellent, thanks. I have emailed him about the filters. The ford ones are 68 dollars each so in a just a few filters this will pay for itself not to mention the time and ease of changing factors. Thanks again guys.
