  1. Hi Just had rebuild at Kewish in Dandenong. 4K for a BTR rebuild.

    Coil Packs

Also take a look on ebay at the ones by Autotrad. I have just bought these after my genuine Fords failed. These have had the coils rewound with a higher output voltage that what factory Ford ones are, which has allowed me to open my spark gap from what I had been setting at 0.7mm to 1mm and have had no issues and no breakdown under load so far. These were about $180ish delivered and a 2yr warranty. Cheer's
  3. What is the reason for closing the gap?
  4. United sell 100 as they do not sell 98 anymore or not at Patto anyway.
  5. I have been running E85 for well over a year now with no problems except cold starts in the morning. Currently back on 100. Caltex have the summer/winter mix and down to as low as E65 from what I have heard. United sit on E85. No summer/winter mix. This is better than the Caltex fuel but hard starts. Oringinally done by Dion. Cheers
  6. O.K just changed the turbo line filter. If you are reading this with intention of performing this task, just read the first post with pics so you know what you are looking at and the last couple of pages as posters have found quicker and easy ways and I will also sum up my experience, but don't panic as this is the easiest thing to do as all you are effectively doing is undoing a bolt. Things you don't need: 1: to be a mechanic 2: a cut-off 24mm spanner 3: heaps of time Things you do need: 1: enough time that you usually need to do an oil change, filter included. 2: 24mm deep socket ( $3 from soupercheep) 3: turbo oil filter bolt from ebay seller in link in previous post 4: 14mm copper washers x 2. You can't buy these at auto places. Try a Brake place. That's where I got mine from. Fraud are too expensive. I changed my filter bolt as part of an oil change. As in previous posts, I removed air filter box and oil filter as this gives very easy access from top. In all honesty, if you are able to this , the line filter removal will be easy. I found the front bolt removal of the air filter box to be more time consuming. Copper washers go on each side of oil line Banjo fitting. What I noticed is that the new filter had larger holes for banjo fitting than the one I removed and filter was also longer. My filter appeared to be pretty clean but I will wait till I get back to work where I can pull it apart for closer inspection. I hope this post helps. Honestly, if you can undo a bolt you can do this. I think more of the hype is the importance in changing the filter rather than the task itself. Cheer's
  7. Looks good but why don't you want to fit a thermo fan?
  8. Although I havn't driven the car lately, as interstate, I have used 2 tanks of the Caltex E70 - E85. Car runs well and cold starts are no problem. The original tune is for E85. Tuner says E70 shouldn't be a problem and have had none. If your in southern subs of Melb, the Caltex that has E85 at the moment is on Sprinvale Rd on RHS after train tracks if coming from frankston way.
  9. Umm. Legal age is 18 mate. Leave the lolly bags at home!
  10. Good to hear its fixed. Saw your car there the other week. They said you had majors, didn't relize what till I read this post. Lesson to be learned for all who need or are comtenplating trans rebuilds. Go to KEWISH. Full stop. These guys ARE the experts in trans builds and strengthing, even so that other trans builders go to them for info.
  11. A few weeks ago I noticed a fuel stain on the injector rail but thought nothing of it. At idle the rvs fluctuate and there is bit of a miss. Is this the sign of a faulty injector?
  12. The Caltex is 70% winter blend for easier starting. I went off E85 for a a bit due to cold morning starts. Havn't tried the Caltex cocktail yet , but a mate has been using it and reckons no problems on cold moorning starts.
