fordfreak1 I'm no longer a fan of the replicas either!! F6_Tornado - I am hoping it is an issue with the wheels and not the transmission. I will get a new set of wheels real soon and let you all know.

Hi all, thought I would post a followup to my problem as I believe I figured out what the issue is (not proven yet though). I took my car to a recommended transmission shop in Blacktown and the guy took it for a test drive, booted it here and there and basically said that he needs to do live data logging to figure out where the communication breakdown is that is not telling my transmission to shift correctly. The problem though was his gear was off getting fixed so we wouldn't be able to do it for a month or so. He did though say that before I left he would give his good friend who works at Ford a call to see if they had any similar instances of this occurring. (mind you I took it Ford myself and they said definitely No). Anyway he gives his mate a call and tells him the problem listens for a second, walks around the car and says Yup, Great and hangs up. About 2-3 months ago I put a new set of 19" FPV F6 Typhoon replicas on the car and on day 2 my wife hits a pot hole at speed and damages the rim beyond repair. Since then I have been trying everything I can to find a replacement rim with no luck so have had the spare on the front left. The diameter between the two wheels are extremely close. Apparently the Ford tech told the transmission shop guy that they have had a few instances where the ZF doesn't shift correctly when there are slight diameter differences between a wheel on the front and back of the vehicle. He said that a fella put a different brand of tyres on the back of his car (same size, profile, etc) and that was enough for this problem to start occurring. So plan is to either find a replacement wheel or go out and buy a new set and see if that fixes the problem. Bloody hope so! Will keep you guys updated. Cheers!

P'd off. Guys I would be very wary of purchasing a set of rims off ebay which are Ford replicas. I put a set of the ones MadF6 have a pic of above and on day two my wife hit a pot hole at speed and cracked it. Well that was about 2-3 months ago and I am still trying to find somewhere to buy 1 wheel from. The original seller wont sell me a single, only a set of 4 and has basically told be to bugger off. In addition to that every tyre shop I speak to tell me Ford have cracked down on replicas so shops are no longer stocking them and the company that was importing them are not importing anymore until the heat is off. Meantime I found out an issue I have with my transmission not shifting up when given a boot is due to having the spare tyre on the the car (front left) so have been manually changing gears (ZF 6 Spd) until I can find a replacement!!! If anyone has a single one of these tyres in a 19" PLEASE let me know!! Thanks :end rant:

Further to my post tax cheque issues - car now has unique markings down the side thanks to my visiting mother rubbing it up against a pole. ouch..... Maybe I'm not meant to have nice things... Anyway anyone else have any ideas on my transmission? I will get it serviced while I am getting it repaired, but anything in the meantime would useful. Thanks!

Ok so I took the car to Ford and to a transmission specialist just to have a quick chat and Ford tell me that I would be crazy to service the ZF as it should never be opened.. They wanted between $80-$120 to have a look at it and then said that a fix would probably be in the region of a couple of thousand dollars. This is before they even know what the problem is!! I took it to a transmission shop and he said to hook it up to the system and test it will cost approx $80. He thinks it is going to be an electrical issue as the box is fully electronic. I told him I would get back to him. I stuck my head under the car and it appears there is a transmission fluid leak somewhere so I think the fluid level is low causing the box to do funny things. I am going to get the transmission specialist to service it (Approx $350) and find the leak ($??) and hopefully problem solved. Funny how things work. As soon as I found out I was getting a nice tax return my Ford starting having issue, my Pajero died, my Toshiba laptop decided (1 month out of warranty) to break and my 3 year old LCD TV has died!! that's life!! Anyone had any leaks on the ZF and know approx costs? I read about a couple where the wiring loom goes in, any ideas? Thanks!!

Thanks guys, it holds the top of 3rd and 4th.. :( I think I will get a service done on it. In regards to applying the accelerator again, yes, I tried that. It is definately holding the gear. *not happy*

Hi all, I have searched the forum pretty extensively and I apologise if I missed something. My ZF Gearbox is not shifting up gears when I have planted the foot to overtake someone. Basically If I put my foot down the gearbox is holding the lower gear in high revs (around 4,000+) and wont shift up. I know the box is designed to keep the lower gear in case I need the power again, etc. BUT I have held it reving high around 8+ seconds and it still wont shift up. Obviously I have it in D mode and the only way to get it to shift up is to move it to Sport Shift Mode and do it manually. Has anyone had this problem and can offer a fix? The car is standard other than a upgraded air box and filter, 19" wheels. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Mine started doing this last night. Its very frustrating. Any instructions on what to do including how to remove the necessary parts on the steering wheel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -
I have a set of these and they are awesome. I bought them off of Gumtree but found Direct Wheels in Blacktown NSW have them as well. Warning, they bend easy, I had them on for 1 day before the wife hit a pot hole, $120 later they are back on but you need to be careful with them. Everyone reckons they look hot though!!

Love the jeep. I got a 94 XJ cherokee myself, 2" ome lift, 31's, quick releases, front ARB air locker and rear trash locker. Great bit of kit and outswamps most of the rigs out there. Gotta love it.
