  1. I was just searching some other ford forums and there's a couple of people who have a truetrac diff and it makes loud clunking noises all the time. Couple of them had their's changed under warranty. Just want to make sure there's no noises after a couple of weeks or anything like that.
  2. Nice post. I'll be looking at something like this for myself at Christmas time. How long have you had it? Any noise at all from it? What about maintenance intervals?
  3. torque = (5252 x HP) / RPM note: torque is in the pound-foot unit. To convert to Nm multiply by 1.355817948.
  4. Very nice.
  5. Sounds like that particular dealer sucks. There are good dealers out there. One's that are actually honest and if there is a problem they call you with a fixed quote for whatever they've found.
  6. heavy
  7. Same here. I'd love a copy.
  8. high
  9. What's a KAZZ unit worth fitted?
  10. It can't be Bose. I've heard the $1500 Bose system they add on in Audis and it is in a different league!
  11. What's the phone number. I'll ring up too.
  12. Range Ford, Maddington WA. No screwing around, just honest and straight forward in both sales and service. Just got a nice new HUGGGGGGE workshop too. I wasn't happy with the tint on one window, so they had all the windows retinted and the car cleaned and vacuumed.
  13. This is great news. Finally some engine tech in our Aussie cars! Hopefully the "eco" upgrades to the i6 will do their usual more performance and more economy thing too...
  14. Nope. Not at all. No matter what they say.
  15. Some metallic tints can stuff up FM reception. The dealer tint isn't meant to though. I have the security tint and my reception is fine.
  16. grave
  17. Well I spoke to some people and yes limited slip diffs can induce under steer and over steer. Over steer will only happen when you put your foot down too hard, which can still happen without LSD anyway. As for under steer, it depends on the type of diff as to how much and under what circumstances. Apparently that's why heaps of manufacturers are making electronically controlled diffs so that they're open in the situations when a mechanical diff would induce under steer. The diff place said that 1.5 way LSD under steers significantly less than 2 way LSD. 1.5 way LSD means that it's active under acceleration and only partially active under deceleration. Basically, with the right LSD I'll get more traction under acceleration without any significant amount of under steer. Does anyone know what type of LSD they fit to our Fords?
  18. Does anyone know the actual story behind that engine ending up in that car?
  19. I've been trying to find information about the pros and cons of putting an LSD in my G6ET. Most people just assume LSD is the best and therefore I should get it. From what I've been able to gather, LSD can promote understeer, but gives greater traction. So can anyone tell me some actual pros and cons?
  20. That definitely isn't normal. Mine doesn't do that.. in reference to the audio hissing when off
  21. I'll put in a complaint too.. maybe if they get enough numbers they'll fix it for the next model
  22. My 2c is that bigger rims are usually a little bit slower. 18s will also give you a more comfortable ride. So why bother paying more for 19s
  23. Ahhh now it's all making sense
  24. I think I'm missing something. My FG turbo is 270kw stock, where as the BF was 240kw stock. Doesn't that mean the new turbo has more peak power?
  25. Smaller turbo in the fg, but damn is it more responsive and seems far more powerful.
