what trans filter did you use genuine or aftermarket & did you replace the orange seal of where the filter tube pushes into ??
-
not sure I've haven't asked..
-
we have in customers cars now the T3, 67/67 1.06 internal std port garrett housing water & oil fed, a T4 divided 67/67 .7 3'' V band rear housing, externaly gated water & oil fed, a T3 68/71 internal unported Garrett 1.06 rear 5 bolt housing. The 62/65 is the other one which is waiting to go on, then to follow a T4 72/75 external 1.0 rear 3'' V band & a T3 64/67 1.06 internal the 62/65 internal is the one that I'm more intrested in, all of these turbos are sold as a complete units, the internaly gated turbos all come with new genuine Garrett housing which is modified by the supplier, spending many hours of pre & post turbo back pressure testing & with the infomation that we have supplied has enabled the supplier to correctly set up the turbine housing without modifying the wastegate port. unfortunately our $$ is my biggest hurdle ATM but depending on the intrests in them I may even do a group buy.
-
keeping all of the sizes under wraps atm, basicly once these 2 go on & tested then prices & specs will be advertised.
-
I'm trying to negotiate prices with the atm but the biggest killer is our dollar..... I'm going to order another 2, a bigger internaly gate version of what on Mick Ute & a smaller std replacement that will go up against the GTX35/82r or the Pression 62/35 better spool up with more topend.
-
that's secret squirrel stuff..
-
its not the t3 flange that holds that particular spec turbo back its the rear wheel & housing ratio IMO, we are testing 2 new turbos from the states one internally gated & one externally gated the internal gate turbo is running on a FG ute with the std exhaust manifold & the usal bolt on mods. I can only discribe these turbos as a cross of a Pression & a turbonetics. This particular ute went out for another test & ran 10.4 @140mph when the rad hose split aprox 80mtrs from the finish so as an educated guess we lost aprox 4-6mph, the spool sounds like your next to a fighter jet. the second one as its a extrnal gate needs a bigger spring & a smaller rear housing, the good this that these guys are willing for me to do the r&d & happy to send out what evers needed in getting that right combo. this internaly gated turbo is perfectly suited for the aplication as a T3 we are now working on a replacement that will go up against the 38/84...the other good thing is that there a triple ceramic bearing, water & oil, direct bolt to your manifold, bolts your exsisting 5 bolt dump pipe.... the front compressor is aprox 1/2 longer you have to shorting the intake hose & use a larger oil drain adaptor as you would with the bigger Pressions. Some of my customers have had the oportunity in going for a test drive in one & were ready to put a deposit on them.....But as we are still testing them I wont have them on the market as yet ...when I get a chance I'll post up a sound clip of them, BTW Garrett & Pression are great turbos reliable & proven we are just offering another option thanks joe

Going To The Drags With New Mods,98 Tune Or E85,std Zf On Radials
joe@cms replied to al10s's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
great work work mate first time out & running a 10 sec pass is awesome, only going to get better from here.. cheers joe -
yes on many builds & its perfect, actual if you do some reserch on this the F1 boys were using this concept back in the 80's when they had to hold up to 90 + psi of boost
-
Great read Joe & I like your attension to details as well, that fire ring concept has been used in europe in more so BMW's for years one of the many names is pyramid ring or T ring, the great thing about this is you never need to replace the head gasket which is made out of copper & rings again if & when the head has to come back off again you just reuse what you have & unlike the other way that some engine shops are still using theres no need to reciver groove the head so no expensive head work is required.

Going To The Drags With New Mods,98 Tune Or E85,std Zf On Radials
joe@cms replied to al10s's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
theres no real guarantee on how long a stock box will last this is all up to how much torque its making & how hard your driving it (including burnouts) & km's aswell, most customers that run midd 400 rwkw will get on an average 6+ months of spirited driving & the odd track day some have seen over 12 months all up to what you do with the car A good example Frank with FG ute made 460rwkw had 7-8 months with the STD box which included some track days & hard street driving then the box failed, it didnt brake the input shaft it seized the std stator bearing on the input shaft & the E clutchers & steels although had heat marks all over would have gone a bit longer. So Allan run the e85 tune & go have a play ..... cheers joe. -
Harrop Trutrack Or Circle D Hi Stall Convertor?
joe@cms replied to King Dribble's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
with an F6 (bigger brakes & ET streets) you should be able to stall that std convertor anywhwere from 2300 - 2500rpm seen it done many times, assuming the F6 diff is ok I'd be more in practicing launchers with what you have & having the zf tuned with the stall setting rasied....... IMO .. joe -
you need to ask your tuner if he has ?? but insaying that there are trans tables for a BF that are available in the tune file without touching the ZF tables... but one effects the other !!.... with 240,000 kms with more power I'd say your probally right about the wear.. joe
-
make sure that the pins in the ZF harnes going into the mechatronics havent vibrated out or a bad conection, have found many BF's due to age that have given of simialr codes, a good place to start with...... failing that return the box back to stock & see if the codes come back ?? joe

we've got about 6 cars from BA's to FG's within the next couple of weeks ready to hit the 1/4 & to run sub 10's then a suprise package to run a sub 9 sec.. thanks joe
-
the most I've made from a FG manual with a stock motor & valve springs was 525rwkw with a MTA 900 again I had to pull that one back by using the cams with the software. this one now has a built engine a TH400 with a 3500 stall we are currently at 490 rwkw some more tweeking before power cruse & then a run down the 1/4 thanks joe
-
lol..lol sorry Allan
-
Hi Craig you have a great looking car & everything turned out as you wanted it good & safe results cheers joe
-
just having a read through this & I find it very intresting, I know the x4's should be check as there's firmware updates that tuners should check before tuning but in this case if the x4 was the cause of the problem Herrod should have been notified & he would work with the tuner to find a resolution for this.. the last thing Herrod wants is this to happen. As long as you get the resault that your looking for that's all it matters.

hamish your video is up on youtube it wount let me copy & paste the link on to here ?? or go to my fb site as Danny has it on there as well cheers
-
Congratulations Hamish on your 10.5 you did exactly what I said you would do through text message and an excelent result all round! I suspect the breakage is either a half shaft or tail shaft, we will check that out. Also great to see Kelly out there having a go I believe it was his first time on the track and running a P.B! Good work guys! From all the staff at CMS.

Sydney Performance Fuel System Info Evening
joe@cms replied to KPM Motorsport's topic in New South Wales
Hey Joe its good to see ppl out there going against the trend of what it has to be with no hard data to back them up, only ''but that's what my mate told me'' as there guidence. We all have our critics trust me I know, but when you get out there & go against mainstream that's when these keyboad warriors put on there zena outfits & have an open day..... stick to what you believe, its not just a matter of putting parts together its the rigorous testing backed with all the relevant data that's required, & this is what KPM has achived joe
