  1. Can't really do too much damage to anything else apart from the turbo itself. 2K sounds like a good price for a replacement, does that include remove/replace?
  2. I ended up getting a kit off Fibresports in Taren Point NSW. For a fibreglass kit it seems to be really well made. At the moment I have only rubbed back the front bar and sprayed it with primer filler. Not too much of a drama with the test fitting. The fibreglass is really thick and strong, it doesn't seem to be too flimsy. Thanks to Brett I was able to also get the Dark Argent paint. I used Protec this go as they have been pretty good with their colour matching. I will post some photos once it is all sprayed and fitted.
  3. There is no difference as pointed out previously. Usually with the kind of setup they have is that they have to buy software credits off their supplier to tune the car. It is still not live tuning and still involves flashing the EEPROM of the ECU. This type of tuning limits you to the amount of places that will be able to retune your car after they have performed the work.
  4. Run the car and pull the fuel pump fuse out. This will dry up the line and release the pressure from the lines.
  5. Mate listen to your tuner and if you don't trust him you shouldn't have taken it there. Could be a number off things but it shouldn't be that hard to diagnose on the dyno. BTW it won't be your intercooler causing a surging issue.
  6. Most likely a vacuum line that has come off some where. Could also be a loose intercooler pipe somewhere.
  7. Wind the car over with your foot flat on the accelerator for 15sec. Then start as normal. See if this helps.
  8. Hey Matey, I have got shares in a large scale digital printer. I can organise this for you. Give me a buzz 0410 116 007.
  9. Brett, your a legend mate. Thank you!
  10. This system mount on the rear left hand side just behind your bumper. It is easily exposed in a collision which is dangerous. Apart from that you have to route your hoses backwards before sending them forward again. I looked at this option before I bit the bullet and settled for a Plazmaman unit.
  11. Hey OZ, Thanks for the heads up mate but I don't even have a colour to eye match. I wonder if your beater has the colour formula he used?
  12. I have purchased a Typhoon kit for my BA. I need the colour code of the dark charcoal colour that the inserts on the bars are painted with? Anyone have a clue? Cheers.
  13. If your planning on modding your car fit everything on before you tune. Believe me and everyone else here who'll tell you you'll save a sh*tload of money on tuning. A full system like Nizpro's will cause the vehicle to spike in boost pressures and possibly lean your engine out.
  14. So the UB CAI intake maxed out? Out what PSI and power? I'm wondering because we couldn't squeeze out any more than about 380rkw from mine @ about 19psi? I was thinking it's my exhaust?
  15. mate I dont know if it fits but I'll be pulling the one off my sedan in about 1 week. I'll be selling it for $350 located in Sydney.
  16. I've found that my XFORCE 3.5" System has found its limit at about 360-380rkw. Still not but for a chinese off the shelf system supporting about 600 flywheel HP in my opinion. It has saved me from squeezing more power out of the stock internals.lol.
  17. My neighbour is a spraypainter. So labour an painting is very cheap. One thing I would like to know is if anyone knows the colour code that the dark charcoal looking bits are painted from factory on the bottom bits of the front/rear bars.
  18. When the traction control can't cope with the exessive wheel spin it just disables itself unitl you restart the car. Pretty normal on earlier models when you up the HP.
  19. Has anyone purchased a body kit off this guy? If so how was the quality? Any feedback would be appreciated as I'm considering purchasing one off him. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Full-FPV-Typhoon-bumper-body-kit-BA-BF-Falcon_W0QQitemZ170376717903QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27ab3e664f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  20. I'm going to take the new found power down to the track to see how it performs. Is anyone else interested in attending that night? Any idea on what times I can expect, tips on take off? The mods are in my signature.
  21. Hey buddy. Nice results, enjoy. BTW is the torque figure you got off a roller/inertia dyno?
  22. You don't need to vent back on the XR6t's. It has a map sensor as opposed to an air flow meter so won't mess up the cars running. Basically it comes down to personal choice of whether you want noise or not. I have my factory unit venting to atmos.
  23. Mate it shouldn't cause a boost leak on the engine side. The turbo is still being hit with the same amount of gas pressure. It could however throw off the O2 sensor when it's running in closed loop which could give you some light throttle or cruise issues depending on the size of the leak. Use some vice grips with some WD40 but you may find that the stud is loose anyway.
  24. Have you checked plugs lately? Are they gapped correctly?
  25. If the bolt is broken on the end that exits to the exhaust you wont have a boost leak, just an exhuast leak. Only if it is on the manifold side that feeds the turbo you would have a leak which would result to lower exhuast pressures driving your turbo.
