Did I not warn the buyer to check about the tuning software???????????????????????????????If so then what's the problem!!!!!!!! You guys must be nieve buyers because by the sound of it you would have bought it not reading the add either, is that what you are all cut about?

Mate how do I know if it is legal or not for CAPA to place a generic tune on the box, am I a lawyer?? They were the distributer so I assumed that they can still do this. I called them and they said they called. I didn't say is this legal?? I still don't know if it is legal or not so I honestly can't comment on the legality of it. All I know is that I checked prior to listing it and they said they can do it. That's as far as my invlovement goes with this mate. If you bought a locked mobile and was told to check if your network supports this and you don't then that's your problem. But at the ed of the day the unit can be used for generic tunes. Period. Whether its legal or what have you not that's up to the buyer since I told them to check. Xtremn8 I like your Redneck thing.lol. Mate to be honest with you I saw someone selling his on ebay before mine so I figured if people are buying them there must still be a use. So I figured I call CAPA and they told me they can place the generic tune on them. So I listed it thinking that's why people r still buying them. They may not have the intention of custom tuning them. Buf-foon, yes I have run a generic on my car at the start and I had a generic on my Passat that I never custom tuned. I sold it with it. I have only custom tuned with all them mods.

Mate if CAPA loads the generic tune onto the box you don't need software to load it onto the vehicle. Now I don't know if it is illegal to load the generic tune on the box but that's not my problem I am not doing anything illegal so why you having a go. My question is to you Mr Mechanic, if the box has a generic tune on it do you need software to flash it onto your car??? So if CAPA is willing to put the generic tunes on these boxes they can still be used then for that purpose. So the box is not a paper weight is it?

Mate SCT has not shut down these boxes. Only the custom tuning software! And you don't need illegal software to use the tune box. Have you used one of these yourself or you wern't even competent to do that. Let me guess you took it to a mechanic to flash? Get your facts straight and your finger out of your .... You do not need Illegal software to flash a generic tune! If you bring me your car I will flash generic tunes on it. Then what are you going to say. Oh the the box does work to flash generic tunes and the penny will drop dodo. Now if tuning software to tune this has gone down the drain then it is the consumers fault in which I clearly warned against to check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't understand this mate then you need to keep your comments on this topic to yourself.

Ian how the heck did I deceive the buyer??? Please explain because I'm tired of going over this! Read the add! I said to "check with your tuner if tuning software is still available". I said this because there are still dodgy tuners able to tune these. So if someone can't read what they're buying your problem! If I mentioned nothing about this then I can see your point guys.

They cost me money as they have with you. If the buyer who bought the box off ebay says he didn't know it could be custom tuned even though I stated to check this I'll be happy to refund him his money. I have no problem with that. Mate I'm telling you CAPA told me that they can reset this with Genric tunes. Otherwise why would I have listed this as a doorstop like you said. I don't know if they are allowed to this but it is what I was told so why am I getting flamed for this. If CAPA is still issuing out misleading or un-ethical info how am I to know?? Anyhow I sold the box on the premise that someone could still use this box with some generic tunes and extract some cheap power. At least this box with generic tunes will give the vehicle more power. What about the guys on Ebay selling "tune boxes" with a resistor in them that goes on your air temp sensor to provide you with 15+bhp?? Maybe you should start a thread and contact him to tell him that he is selling a doorstop as well?? In regards to the Tuners mate I heard about them on the grape vine. I'm not going to name them and start problems on the forum as you guys have with me. Besides I don't know how valid the claims are. I didn't contact themn beacuse I only tune the car at Tunehouse.

Cause I will only tune my car with Tunehouse who doesn't doesn't use cracked software like other dodgy tuners that's why I upgraded. If your tuner told you he has cracked the software and can still flash the X1 would you have ethecially gone and bought another one? Get your hand off it mate! I done the right thing and called CAPA before listing it. They told me he can still load the Genric tunes on it. He also told me that a vehicle running the same ECU code can use my tunes. I disclosed everything on there. To Turbo 6FG for your wanker comment mate you better hope I don't run into you anywhere! I hope you're a local from Sydney if so have the balls and tell me face to face. You guys are upset over what has happened with these boxes as I was. I bit the bullet bought another one and moved on. I didn't have a cry on a forum to achieve nothing as you have so far. I thought I'd list the box stating everything that is true on there and c what I get. I can't help if someone didn't read about the product that I'm selling. If you're dumb enough to buy a PC running windows 95 on it and expect to still get updates well?? Especially if the add tells you to check and c if updates or support is available! Even still the PC still works with Win 95 as does the series 1 box. It will still work allowing generics to be flashed back and forth and that's the grounds I sold it on.

You could check the cat out. Also was the replacement turbo modified in any way or just a rebuild? Check all boost hoses and vacuum hoses and make sure they're connected well.

Looks exactly like what I had a year and a half ago.

They fit up to the factory crossover the only thing that is in the way is the snorkel which has to be removed.

I had the HDI on there. It held around 340 but back to back dyno runs saw heat soak. When I changed to the Plazmaman cooler I saw a 3 psi increase in boost on Tunehouses dyno. It's a chinese cooler with cast end tanks so you get what you pay for.
