  1. Gday mate, My ute has had the same problem for months now and finally had it fixed today, it has been getting worse and worse, very embarasing if anyone else was in the car, and had to drop it into neutral when ever at a stop to be able to sit in it. Replaced both engine mounts today, and it drives like a brand new ute! The mount under the turbo was sightly melted, and very cracked due to the heat and had compressed, and the other was also compressed somewhat compared to the new ones put it. hope this helps anyone who may have this problem in the future. By the way the ute has done 150,000 kms. I thought the mounts would have lasted a bit longer than that!
  2. Cheers Mike, Yep did excatly what you've said, bought a set of six on ebay for $180, non genuine ones but supposed to be pretty good according to the ad. Put them in thismorning and also changed the fuel filter while I was at it. Just took it for a run and its that much better, I couldnt believe it. Well worth the $180 and I feel so much better off knowing that its fixed than taking it to ford and wondering what they will try and charge me this time. Thanks
  3. Thanks Mike, A terrific and detailed write up! I did mine this arvo with the help of your guide. Was much easier than I thought it would be! I still managed to break one of the little studs that holds the crossover on! cheers
  4. Thanks for this mate, its a great help, my ute has been doing this for a while. Missing under load and hard acceleration. I just replaced the spark plugs this afternoon, and took it for a quick squirt tonight. Just like you described, fixed the missing, and pickup was back to where it used to be, but still seems to me missing slightly at high revs and like you say has only fixed the problem about 98%. I dont really want to go to Ford as they always seem to rob me of my money and fix nothing. Is there any way of finding out which coils are crook short of replacing them all???
