  1. Fitted a new intake manifold gasket, car idles perfectly again.
  2. Yea looks fairly simple, how much gaskets usually cost? Ford quoted my old man about $500 to get his fixed a month or so ago.
  3. Ok I clearly have a vacuum leak at the intake manifold gasket, tracked it down with a bit of hose to isolate the sound. Its leaking on the first cylinder, whats people experience changing this their self? I have no problem doing it but does the manifold usually need shaving or is that uncommon?
  4. I cleaned the throttle body about a month ago, ill check the other stuff out on the weekend. Cheers
  5. guys, I have searched the forums for a while now about idle issues but couldn't find anything like my problem. Car is a BA XR6T 6SP manual, drives perfectly until I need to slow down to a stop. I put my foot on the clutch at about 1500RPM and roll to a stop. When I do this the RPM lifts to about 2000rpm and wont usually drop to normal idle until I have come to a complete stop for 5 seconds or so. Once it reaches normal idle it stays there. I remember having this issue about 4 years ago and it fixed it self, has now just started doing it again. Any ideas?
  6. Nuh I still have the noise, I just got used to it. It could be a slight exhaust leak somewhere. But I gave up.
  7. Yea they are genuine ones, I shall inspect them on the weekend.
  8. Hey guys My car recently has a slight mis underload at first I thought it was traction control but discovered it wasnt, I immediatly think its a stuffed coil pack but I wanted to know if there is a way to test them with a multimeter like we used to on ignition leads? I am going to pull them out this weekend to inspect them, had them in for about 2 and a half years (about 30,000ks). Anyone know if its possible to test the resistance of these coils? Cheers.
  9. Hey guys, I am looking at buying an 09 FG G6E, just wanted to know what the common issues are with the FG's to look out for when buying one. Been driving a BA for quite a few years and know their issues pretty well now. Just after people’s experiences with the G6E, and wondering is the colour Ego easy enough to maintain? Any comments are appreciated Cheers.
  10. depends on what your after really, if you have a car pc setup then you might be after something like DashCommand with a nice digital gauge setup. My software is sitting on the back burner at the moment, I will post here when I have a completed product I was only really writing it for my personal use to see what info I could get out of the car. Have some nice features in mind for it though.
  11. Guys, Currently have pedders springs with standard shocks on 20s, front sits 330mm hub to guard and 300mm hub to guard in the back. I am thinking about replacing them with the Kings SL front and SSL back to get the level look with some monroe GT short shocks. (would love a set of coil overs but just brought a house so they are out of question) For those guys with this setup does your front tyre rub on the guard with these springs? I am running 225 tyres at the front. Would be great if we could get some hub to guard measurements and with what setup you have. cheers guys
  12. Yea I am in the same situation, mine is on its ass at the moment with pedders springs and after driving it like that for 2 years its giving me the sh*ts now. Was good until they sagged then it got too low. Whats the best spring guys?
  13. Direct Link: OBDII Analyser
  14. Ok I have uploaded the first BETA version for testing if anyone is interested. It includes SAE PID's commands pre-configured, local data logging, continuous monitoring of a selected PID, and of course allows sending custom commands for the adventurous. This application is designed to be a diagnostic tool, not a pretty interface. I am leaving all the extended features and nice graphics for the Centrafuse plugin. Please leave some feedback here and any suggestions or requests you may have. You can report bugs from within the help menu of the application of on the forums. Cheers
  15. yea that's what started the whole idea off. Data will be stored on a server so you can access it whenever you need.
  16. Thanks mate, yea I have plans for being able to detect fault codes and display a text description with the ability to clear the fault codes as well. There is a heap of work required to do all of that but will be implemented over time. There could possibly be a ladder that displays all of the users quickest times, we shall see when its released. Cheers
  17. yea I have heard of that app, would be great if you could pass on any PID and formulas you have access to. You might have some I haven't managed to get hold of. Thanks mate
  18. A quick update, heaps of work has gone into the brains of this application I have just finished coding a feature that allows you to time 0 - 100 times. It gives you a print out on the screen of 0 - 20, 0 - 40, 0 - 60, 0 - 80 and 0 - 100 times. This still needs a little bit of fine tuning but I think will be a fun feature of the program, I will first release BETA version that will have a expiry date to allow people to test it out. A Centrafuse Plugin is still underway and will hopefully contain all the features included in this application, spare time is limited sometimes and slows development. Cheers.
  19. sucks to hear that news mate, id get prices for both a repair and respray then one for a replacement bonnet if you can find one in good condition. I never follow trucks they always drop stuff and flick things up from the road.
  20. Had a bit of a set back in development, as I upgraded my version of Centrafuse to 3.5 and had discovered a heap of issues with it. Latest update is I am getting a response from some Ford Enhanced PID's but don't have to correct formulas to decode them into meaningfull data. Anyone have documentation on these PID's I could use? Once I have sorted out the Car PC issues I will start working on the Centrafuse plugin, at the moment it looks like it will only support SAE PID's unless someone can provide me with the information of Fords Enhanced PID's. Cheers
  21. you need to tap the converter into the exiting speaker lines, so the left speaker would go to the left high level input on the converter and the right goes to the right high level input on the converter.
  22. Hi Guys, Thought some of you guys might be interesting in the new project I am working on, I am currently developing an application for windows that will allow you to log and view ODB-II data. The application is in its early stages currently but it now sends and receives data from the ODB-II port and applies the formula to decode the received data into readable data by the user. Basically when you send a PID request to the ODB-II port the data it sends back is in a HEX string which to the everyday person is just garbage, the application needs to apply a formula/algorithm to decode the response for the user to be able to understand the data. The exciting part is that I am hoping to be able to tap into the Enhanced Ford data, once this application is completed I am going to port it into a Centrafuse plugin as I think the standard ODB plugin is a bit basic. To view the latest updates about this project just visit my blog at www.devblogz.com If you have any suggestions or idea for the project feel free to leave a comment on my blog page. Cheers!
  23. They look awesome Worm, Mick does a great job a pitlane.
  24. This can happen when you lower your car and keep the stock swaybar and links. mine creaks when its wet.
  25. I have the same problem, bent passenger one. Be interested to see what people suggest we replace them with.
