Hey guys, as you can imagine, I can't find much info on this topic.. Anyway, I picked up my '07 Typhoon on the weekend and noticed driving it home my foot was catching under the edge of the brake pedal, and I am wondering if there is any way to adjust the brake pedal over to the left a little, I just need a few cm's extra room on the accelerator? I have size 13 feet and if I am wearing my boots, the edge of them gets caught under the brake pedal when your driving and try to brake quickly and they have a habit of catching the edge of the brake pedal when you go to take off from the lights. Gotta luv the way think about people and big feet.. lol.. Any help would be great.

Hey mate, Bob the tinter from Sydney tinted my windows 2 weeks ago, I watched the bloke pop the 6 or 7 plastic lugs in the rear parcelbay shelf and then just pull the intire carpeted unit forward, rear brake light and all. After it was done, all that remained was the metal frame. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, got my windows tinted yesterday by Bob, and well, all I can say is WOW.. For all you out there that are interested in getting your windows tinted, I recommend this bloke, he showed me some pics of tint on cars and samples and answered my questions/concerns. 2 hours later job done and what a result. I was thinking 35% cause its legal, but after he showed me some pics I went with the 18%, I know that sounds low, but I drove back to queanbeyan from sydney last night and could still see out the windows. Takes abit to get used to that's all. And just so you know, he pulls all the rubbers out of the window and tints 100% of the glass, he's not a dodgy that just does what you can see with the window up. You are spot on, it looked hot. :angel: But, I am thinking of keeping it for 10+ years cause its a R-spec model. So, that's why I was interested in the possibility of buying a car with a defective paint job. But from what I have read above, red used to be a colour with problems, but they have since fixed it. So, it should be good to buy. Funny thing was going from a BA Mk11 auto to the BF Mk11 Typhoon 6sp manual was lets say an interesting transition.. I don't think the dealer was used to my driving style.. lol. Thanks all. will keep you posted. -
Hey guys, I took a '07 BF Mk11 Typhoon for a test drive today, giddy up, they are great, might be the next investment. So, got back home and was telling some friends about it and one of them asked what colour is it? I answered RED. Well, I seriously thought they were having a lend of me at this stage, but I now want to find out if it is true. Does red paint has something in it that is stuffed up by the sun? and cars that are painted red need to be constantly polished or the paint job will be ruined? Any help would be muchly appreciated. Not too keen to part with that much money and find out in a few years I need to get a respray.

Hey guys, need some help. I bought some 4 bulb tail lights off fleabay, stupid me took the sellers word that they were off a BA and would fit, and yes I was to lazy to check my lights before I bought them. Guess what, my BA XR6 only has 3 globes. My question is, where would I need to go or who should I call about finding a 4 bulb harness for the BA? or is it easier to get a auto elec to tap into the existing wires and create the 4th bulb holder? Worst luck of it all, even the standard 3 bulb harness wont fit in the unit, the bulb holders are to big to fit in the holes where the bulbs go. So, I can't even secure the bulbs in the unit. Any ideas ??? other than sell them to some other poor shmuck?

If you upgrade the dump & cat you will need to do your wastegate & acctuator to control / stop boost spike, due to you freeing up the exhaust system. I would say just fit the cat and leave the rest of the system so your tuner wont have to deal with massive boost spike issues. Spend the rest of your money on a high flow cooler, injectors and tune. Should see you 320rwkw..

Hey guys, Not to sound stupid , but I am looking at buying a BF F6 Typhoon (pre 06/2006), my question is, did all Typhoon motors come out with the same internals or did they also changed post 06/06 with the BF XR6T's?

I was under the impression if you upgraded the dump and cat you then would need to upgrade the wastegate and actuator to prevent boost spike? Is this not the case?

Whats A Cheap Intercooler Upgrade?

Hey, thanks for the replies guys, but yeah, I was looking more along the lines of a cheap $100 upgrade like a F6 cooler or something similar, didn't want to screw around with pipes etc.. just wanted to see if replacing the stock BA cooler would give me a little better porformance. I looked at those coolers on ebay and the other sites you posted, and yes they are good, but out of budget for this round of mods. But thanks again for taking the time to reply. After reading your comments, I found some other threads in the forum and I now know I need to incorporate some other mods to see safe power gains.. (ie: valve springs, wastegate and actuator etc..) So, thanks again guys.. you have given me a better understanding on the direction I need to go now. -
Hey guys, Getting the entire exhaust upgraded soon and then off for a tune. But that's where the funds run out. So, no PW stage 3 intercooler just yet Just wondering what type of CHEAP intercooler I should keep my eyes open for? (keep in my I will be upgrading within 12 months.) Currently I have a stock BA cooler but am wondering if there is any cooler out there that I can just swap for a little better performance? Any ideas would be appreciated. cheers

To de-badge or not to de-bage? hmmm what a question.. I like every ones responses, good range of reasons, but personally im doing it just to personalise the car to what I like. But before I just rip badges off, I would like some opinions. I have been mucking around in paint and come up with a few ideas... What do you guys reckon? Im going to at the very least get rid of the Falcon Mk11 badges.. Standard Just the TURBO badge Nothing any way, let me know what your thoughts are.. p.s. yes, that is ice on the car this morning.

No, the standard intercooler is fine for that mark, I'm currently running 269rwkw, and all that has been done is bigger injectors, a CAI and 12 PSI tune. -
Hi all, Just trying to figure out what Intercooler Core is better? Should one look for a Bar & Plate core or a Tube & Fin core? - does it really matter? Any ideas on what way to go would be helpfull. cheers

Hey guys, this might be a silly question, but does the quad exhaust do anything other than look good? like, do you gain anything with quads over a single exhaust? do quads allow the exhaust gasses to escape quicker or something? any ideas?

I totally agree Adam, I sent Best Mufflers an email yesterday afternoon, I had a response by 8 o'clock last night. Very professional and very helpfull. Chris explained exhaust systems very well, basically he said 4" dump, 4" Cat and 2 1/2" twin system is the way to go if your looking for under 400rwkw. Over 400rwkw he recommended the 4" dump, 4" Cat and 3 1/2" single system. He also said if money was an issue you could get away with just the 4" dump, 4" Cat and Y/pipe to fit the factory exhaust, and that was $895 for stainless.
