Greetings all, Last week I picked up my new G6E Turbo. Lightning Strike with Shadow interior. Not exactly the colour combo I was after. I was hoping to get one in Seduce with the Cashmere interior, but I have a relative who works at a Ford dealership and he was able to offer me this one brand new (April built) for $43k on-road. I couldn't go past it really. Phenominal car. Easily the fastest & most awesome car I've ever owned. My first car I ever owned as a P-plater was a XB John Goss Special Coupe (blue hood). Loved that car to death, but it had the familiar cancer in the rear end that the 70's Falcon Coupes were prone to. After that I had a '83 Pontiac Firebird for a long time. Nice car but it was a lot of work keeping it in shape and parts were a bugger. Since then I've just had a basic base model VT commodore, but I've been saving up for a long time for something nice, biding my time for the right moment. So last weekend I traded that in on the new G6E Turbo. I still like the coupe body-shape over anything else, but this is just fantastic and is quickly changing my mind. Insurance is better for starters (though it helps alot that I'm rating one thesedays and not a teenager). I've warmed to the colour considerably - they look real nice in silver. And the shadow leather is more practical, less distracting to drive and easier to keep clean. The list of features is impressive, though this is now the top of the range in the Ford stable so some of that is to be expected. But gees it's a nice car, inside and out. Suprisingly large inside too. And the power is something else. For a sixpack this thing boogies like nothing else. Depressing the pedal to the floor is like going into warp! I actually like the fact that the looks on the car are sedated, classy and betray it's full power. It doesn't look like a hoon car at all, but it can blow the doors off most things on the road. I've been nursing it mostly through the run-in period, but even just a little squirt of the throttle lets you know that the power is there when you need it. I'm glad now I didn't end up getting a VE Calais or SS like I was thinking of doing around this time last year. For a stock car, this is probably one of the greatest cars ever made in this country. Anyway, just thought I'd de-lurk and let you all know how happy I am with the new car. Never thought I'd be back in a Falcon!
