Crap. The friends of Ford promo that ended in June had some of the best prices to come about for a long time and for the vehicle you describe above under that promo was $41,000. I can't believe your mate got that price now...

I got the bluetooth fitted. Cost me $375. The ipod integration was the same again... Still might get it yet. As a factory fitted option you get both for $500. If not fitted at factory it's $375 ea... :banghead: If I could I would have optioned EXACTLY the same as you did. Good choice! Will post a pic tomorrow arvo I hope. Definitely the insurance is a big risk. I could not care less about the coppers...

Sounds like you will create an awesome machine. If you are upgrading the av system and would like to sell the one in it, I'm looking to upgrade my crapola with the colour screen so will buy yours if your interested... Also interested to see how you go with the tuner, I'm on the Goldie so will be looking for someone soon too.

lol no! I'm still seeking forgivness from the trouble and strife for buying it! I told her I was buying a "Falcon" the xr6 turbo bit wasn't mentioned... I've always lived by the saying that forgivness is easier to get than permission.

Well I took the arvo off work and got to cleaning my baby up... Farkin bugs! Got most of them off... Wash, polish and wax done now and I reckon I'm 5 kg lighter... When did I become a fat, unfit bugger??? Hopefully get some pics tomorrow.

Definately a fantastic car. I got an auto sedan in the ego colour. Black on black interior and bluetooth fitted aftermarket. 18" alloys. I bought it under the friends of Ford promo so had to buy what was on the showroom floor. If I had the chance I would have got the premium sound just for the colour screen... Run in on the expressway was my concern.. I basically varied the speed and punched it hard for the first 300k's then got sick of that and used cruise control for the next 1500k's. (on and off) That's what worries me.

When I clean the bugs off... Cheers Steve. I was pretty conservative in the city but the highway was a different story... I got a permit from Vicroads to drive it to QLD therefore no number plates.... Hopefully that will help. :banghead: Sounds promising mate good luck!

Well I'm back on the Coast... I've gotta say, WOW this thing is a missile! I had a couple of test drives but it's not until you're on the open road that you appreciate what a powerful beast this thing is! The acceleration from 100k's is amazing, overtaking is amazing, the push you back in the seat feeling is amazing... The only bit I'm worried about is the fact that I could'nt control myself during the "run in" period because I gave it a hiding from Melbourne to the Gold Coast but hey; I could'nt help myself. Time will tell I guess... I love everything about the vehicle but feel it lacks a couple of things. 1. Non auto electric windows all round 2. Nowhere to put loose coins, you know, like a coin tray? Anyone tell me where it is? 3. No sunglasses holder. that's all, not much really in the scheme of things. For all of you who have been driving these things for years, I'm jealous as hell but glad to finally be in one.

Well the day has FINALLY arrived. I fly down to Melbourne tomorrow morning and take delivery of my new xr6t! 2 days driving it back up to the Goldy... Can't wait Thanks to this forum I've been able to do some reading whilst I've been twiddling my thumbs waiting...
