  1. Are you serious? What is going wrong with the ranger engines? And what the hell are people doing with them to do that.
  2. Umm there is a v6 diesel. I thought 170kw. Which is now stx and st is the 4 cylinder diesel. Our d40 is good on fuel. 8.8 l/100 highway. Around 15/16 towing a 21 ft caravan or car trailer. I've got 900k's out of my 22.
  3. Though I have been told by a Nissan mechanic to go to the D-22 It's funny you say that, I had our local Nissan mechanic say the same. "get a 22, the d40 will be back with problems". So I did, I've got a 22 and my dad has a d40. The d40 is twice the dual cab the 22 is. Sits on 120 no drama, beautiful to drive long distance. The 22 is a lot more ruggered, and it should be, they are a bloody old Ute. In saying that, the d40 has done a clutch, head, and a lot of little problems. I explain it as "the best dual cab we've ever had and the worst.
  4. Edit .. sorry guys thought I was in the cheapie ebay intercooler thread. Still relevant.
  5. Just in case some of you don't know. There is an xf on here running 1000 Hp running low 9's on a $200 eBay cooler. Can't be as bad as some have said.
  6. Pretty much bolts in. Computer side is a bit more complicated.
  7. Heard of injectors stuffing up when left sit. If my ute was not to be driven for quite a few months, would it be better to drain the cell and try to run 98 in it for a bit? It will run rich as, foul the plugs, but might be better for the injectors? Or is there something better.
  8. So I think he had some troubles with this. Fuel system was not up to the task. New surge, pumps pushed out 940rwhp on 30psi. Then broke the diff.

    Fg F6 547Rwkw

That's moving man, done it easy too. Well done.
  10. 18's are going to get waaaayyyyy better traction then 20's. I went back to standard ba 17's, and even with a cheaper 255 tyre, traction is 4x better then my 19's. 19's felt like I was in the wet compared to the 17's.
  11. What happened with the other engine? Hadn't done a whole lot had it.

    428 Killerwasps

Can't see how you would, when its only 2.5" out of the turbo or smaller?. But somehow it did. Would be a killer street car. Good stuff.
  13. Omg that ute......
  14. A mate bought this. I haven't had a look at it yet, but he says the work on it is amazing and the gearbox is unreal. It went for a tune this morning.
  15. Fair bit of work, but not impossible.
  16. Good stuff. Heat shielding isn't really necessary, not like its next to a red hot exhaust housing.
  17. Maybe noob question. But what is different from this to what has been in place at willowbank for a couple of years now? On their site it doesn't say anything about year, just modern car, with 4 wheel disk and airbags can run down to 10.0.
  18. (workshop) Yeah bring it back, spend more money with us fixing the problem, that were not sure what it is) Just make sure you drive it around for 1/2 an hour before bringing it all the way home.
  19. A mate has a gtx4294 and it comes on pretty close to 4, manual. I've got a 4202 and on the street has nothing on the 3540 for drive-ability. I think people need to have a good think about what they want the car for. People are making fantastic power from gtx35's, more then enough for the street. Easy to fit.
  20. I think offset is the wrong word. Cooler inlet temp is a good thing and a good quality cooler will only make it better. What it will allow, is good power on a cheaper cooler, size still matters. Eg twin cam xf, massive power on cheap eBay cooler

    Fg F6 547Rwkw

Impressive, good stuff. Hella sexy looking fg too. Got some more pics of it.
  22. Yes. A good driveline shop could do it without drama. Does seem odd though.
  23. Wow that's smick. Got some skills, well done. keen to see the end result.
