Hi all,
I have a question for all you experts out there. I have recently had my diff bushes replaced with these new type polyurethane I think they are, as apposed from the old rubber types. Now my problem is this.. From around 70km/h onwards I start to hear a whine from the back end and between 94-96km/h its at its loudest. Quite annoying to hear this loud constant whine. Also at cruise around 105km/h its also quite painful to listen to. I find under light acceleration and keeping constant speed the whine is there, however when I back off it all but goes away. Now the people that serviced the car and replaced the diff bushes said to me that its the gear set that is gone and it will need replacing, however I am finding this hard to believe as there was nil noise there before they replaced these bushes. Also they said my tail shaft centre bearing was wearing and needed to be replaced, but I held off on that as they said they could not do it and it needed to be sent away to get done as they could not do it there. The car has only done 64000 km and is a 2009 FG turbo. They blamed the wear on the power the car makes and said it has worn it down but yes I have 370rkw but I rarely flog the car and usually drive it like a grandma.. lol Anyway any help or suggestions would be great as like I said, I'm not really keen to replace the gear set if I don't have to. All I know is I cannot keep driving the car with the whine it has now.
