  1. A rod recently let go in my motor shot straight out the bottom after a tune so ive organised a bare long motor rocker to sump. However upon stripping the crossover and piping etc on the old motor I noticed that a couple of the comp wheel fins have small bends at the tips its only on two fins and very slight I was just wondering if this was a major issue as a rebuild is gonna add another 1500 on my already mounting bill. Any advice would help heaps cheers!

Yeah I had it tuned at BPT with a sniper bullet tune gonna take it to Rob at Monsta torque for its next tune up and I was gonna get 60lb injectors but im not gonna be looking to push this motor very hard it'll need to last so I'll stick with the 42s for now. This is getting costlier and costlier by the day!

Hey guys Recently had my car tuned after an overboost issue, soon as the car came back from tune it started playing up, leaning out, making strange noises etc. She lasted about a week before she blew. Turns out the car was leaning out things heated up and bang! I was pretty disappointed. Anyways costly mistake on my part but I have a new motor and some 42lb injectors hopefully to stop the lean out, I was just curious if when I replace the stock injectors with the bosch 42lbs to stop the lean out will it need a retune or will the injectors do the job without computer tune? The car has a larger cooler, modified cold side intake and a tune running 249rwkw ANY info would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Cars just recently started mucking up, it gets to high revs in any gear above 1st and just cuts out anywhere from 3.5K to 4.5K the whole car makes a weird noise when it does this and I need some help to diagnose the problem! All the details are in the vid description any help would be great!
  5. I was thinking a HDI kit they say rated 600hp so I'm hoping that will do if not I'll just commit the extra dosh for a Plazaman kit. As for the rebuild not too sure of where it was built, sent it through a mechanic connection of mine over here, and no high stall just a basic rebuild Any I dea where I can pick up a decent surge tank and oil cooler? I've seen a couple coolers listed on eBay nice and big and I'm always letting it drop below 1/2 so I'll definitely be needing the surge tank. Also any clues on how much the 12psi actuator is gonna set me back?

OK so just coming up to tax time and hopefully the cars gonna get a bit of loving, I've got BA series 1 and im aiming for around 300-330rwkw so heres whats been done / is going to be done Got the 4 speed rebuilt sent over east (from WA) so should handle the extra power, as for parts im lining up... Intercooler kit (Wrap around) Pod off turbo intake 60lb injectors Walbro Fuel pump Valve Springs 4" Dump to Hi-flo cat then cat back later down the track and obviously a tune! maybe add 12psi actuator etc as im sure for 300+ I'll be needing it anyways and feedback / additions / alterations to my list would be appreciated!
  7. Looks pretty good! So that bolts directly to the factory cat back? And if you don't mind me asking, where'd you pick it up for $650? Might have to go the same way!
  8. Yeah it does look pretty crappy seen it before just seemed to sound alright on start up! I'll probably end up going the 4" dump hi-flo to a cheap sport system, seems like that will more than do me for the power I'm after! @ FORDPSI Yeah kinda scared about the auto going out on me, had gearbox sent over east (from WA) to get rebuilt put it back in about 13,000KMs ago so hoping it'll go alright! Also wouldn't mind seeing that system if you can post pics!
  9. This has been an ongoing issue in my 03 XR6T. Took it to ford several times and it kept coming back eventually they replaced the driver airbag under warranty, few months later it came back again! It seems to be very temperamental it hasnt been on for several months now but then it'll just come back. Mine goes like this... when I turn the car on it does the usual light up then turns off I'll be driving like...minute or 2 and it will flash several times, go off, flash, go off then eventually stay on all the time, disconnecting my battery has taken care of it before but always seems to come back!
  10. Yeah I would just go the high flow but I want it to make some noise too + if I buy bigger its there already if I want bigger power. What other mods did you do to get up to 361rwkw?
  11. Hey guys just chucking all my parts together for a tune pretty much only missing exhaust off my list. Im only after about 300rwkw maybe a bit more so a big system wouldnt really be needed but I was thinking a 4" dump > 3.5" Hi-flo cat > 3.5" piping > Twin cannon style muffler at the back. Although im not a fan of the cannon look on the falcons no one can put down the sound of a cannon on a big 4.0L turbo! Beats the hell outta the ricers. Anyway im thinking this will give pretty awesome flow and a really nice deep loud exhaust note. Any thoughts?
  12. I'll be happy with 300rwkw maybe a touch over, I want her to sound mean so I'll probably commit the extra for full exhaust + full intercooler kit +piping. Any ideas on an intercooler kit that can host under battery intake? Will I have to delete the crossover after under battery?
  13. I had this issue with my 03 XR6T I changed the spark plugs and she was all fine. Get yourself some NGK iridium spark plugs for it, set me back about $100 at the time and fixed it up good as new!
  14. Yeah I was thinking that too, a kit will jump the price up at least another 1K though. Im thinking I'll need it anyway if I wanna go the under battery intake otherwise things'll get a bit cosy. As for the actuator might as well add it in, its only gonna help I spose!
  15. Hi All 03 BA Turbo owner here. I've compiled a list of modifications I wanna do to it nothing major, just for starters, but just want some feedback on the choice, wanna ask the people who know before I start forking out cash on the thing. So, in no particular order they are... -Intercooler Kit (Already have wog cooler, maybe enough?) -Under Battery intake -Full exhaust (4" dump to hi-flo cat then 3.5" pipes) -Upgraded Valve springs (Crow or Nizpro, just to be safe) -Bigger injectors (Not too big) -Fuel pump -Transmission Oil cooler maybe upgraded actuator? and then TUNE! anyway any feedback on the list would be greatly appreciated, let me know if I've gone astray!
  16. Any one know a relatively cheap spot to pickup an f6 full body kit in perth? ebay has em for about 750-800 but over $400 postage over to Perthland. Would I get it cheaper than $1200 over here? Any one else got some from perth?
  17. Going down strip, opponent VY series II Clubsport, take off he spins I gain traction he catches slowly then as he gets near bonnet to bonnet (both cars full at it) it was neck and neck. My T is a BA 4spd Auto with insulated pod, bigger cooler and about 140k on the clock, against a 285kw (factory) clubsport. Not to mention his exhaust system. Any similar experiences? Feeling of sure loss turns into closer than you thought / victory? Also any ideas what sort of power mine would be making with those two minor mods?
  18. Been up against a few skylines in the T now. Mine is near stock, pod and cooler and these gts all have exhaust wound up boost and front mounts like table tops and they just can't keep up off the line and rolling. On the other hand turning onto Reid hwy the other day behind 2 r35 GTRs and they made my full acceleration seem like I was standing still.
  19. I want to get my induction done with a pod filter running straight from the turbo. My question is can this be done with the factory wrap around intercooler set up or will I need to buy a different intercooler set-up? pretty curious where all the hoses go too?
  20. Had something similar to this happen, pink stuff all over the front of my engine bay. My pink substance was coolant leaked and dried from a pinhole in one of my pipes. Could be coolant?
  21. Sounds like a plan 1 FG bottom end. What difference would the FG bottom end make on the stock motor? Same power with stronger bits or a bit gruntier? I can imagine it would sound quite nice :hiwelcome:
  22. Thinking about a rebuild on my 03 BA Turbo, I've clocked up about 130,000KMs and want to get the motor more than ready for handling a bit more power. I know the stock motor is good into the 300KW range but I just wanna make sure she's ready to handle it. Anyways I've got an intercooler kit on the way and some silicone radiator hoses as I've had issues with leaks, looking into under battery intake and a full exhaust system but I wanna get the internals done too. How much would it cost for a general rebuild? im only really after 310-320KW power range. I've seen some talk on here about FPV short motors, not really sure how that all works, but whats my best option here?
  23. My 03 BA XR6T is on 128,000 got it 6 months ago at 113,000 got the gearbox done under warranty for "Transmission Whine" and one of my radiator hoses sprung a leak other than that no problems =) lovin it.
  24. I've raced WRX and a TT Liberty AWD beat both off the line as said it was close but then as soon as I hit 2nd I pulled away. Same with rolling start. Alot depends on the driver, just race and see how ya go.
