  1. Here are some pics from today, shocking weather makes for good pics
  2. Thanks mate, the intune pipe kit was a little tight behind the G6E bar but all in all its a true bolt in fit with no cutting etc. Just had to be readjusted a few times to get the bar back on and sitting nicely. F6 injectors had 50k on them when I bought them but my mate cleaned, flow & spray pattern tested all six for $100 Ill post some pics up tomorrow, running some silver argents & DJR spoiler now Also the tuner called me asking if we were running 98 vortex because the power curve was a little messy in the top end. recommended that I swap to BP ultimate next time as he has seen much better results
  3. Hey guys, Had my G6ET tuned by Clint at Profile Autosports and returned 303rwkw's Mods include PWR Stepped intercooler Intune motorsport pipe kit F6 injectors 100 cell 5" high flow cat K&N panel filter I asked for a safe conservative tune rather than all out power and that's exactly what he has delivered. Driveability is fantastic.
  4. Im keen to try the revised bushes in my FG. I have replaced them on an FG before using the older style genuine bushes and struggled getting them back in without the tool. Very keen to see what this ford tool looks like. The GGT550 removal tool requires the removal of the diff from the cradle
  5. does anyone have a pic of the Ford service tool?
  6. My Stock Rear muffler has developed an annoying rattle that's slowly getting worse. What's a good replacement? I don't really want it any louder and certainly don't want any drone on the highway so Im having reservations about simply removing the rear muffler and replacing with pipe. I know the factory mufflers sell for around $450 so Id probably nearly be able to get a cat back system for that. What is the best size pipe to go on these things if I went down that path?
  7. Dobinsons are a spring manufacturer. They list the rear coil C9-163 as Super low for XT Low for the G6E Turbo & XR6 ( stock coil is listed as C19-153 )
  8. Hey guys, I have an 09 G6ET and am annoyed at how high the back end sits. We have a steep driveway and the front scrapes as it is. Has anyone fitted SL's in the rear only? If so does it sit level? I have access to Dobinsons Coils at a good price so Im keen to give it a go
  9. Yeah mine does it on the passenger side. I stuck a strip of insulation tape over the gap between the door and mirror to confirm. Whisper quite! I have heard of ford dealers just removing th emirror, bit of silicone/sealant and refitting. Im considering doing this
  10. could it be some sort of paint protection or silicone etc?
  11. Actually I dont think it says anything about letting it haze. Come to think of it, I think I left it on the paint too long on a hot day which made it very difficult to remove. When I did the G6E I had the paint dead cold in the shed and started buffing it off as soon as I finished applying it to the whole car. Worked a treat and was very easy to remove
  12. I tried tech wax on my partners old BA falcon and found it absolutely awful to remove, I then decided to try the same bottle that has been sitting in the shed for over a year on our newly acquired G6E turbo. Worked beautifully, so easy to remove. I think I was too impatient last time on the BA and didnt let it "haze" enough
  13. Just a thought, has anyone tried Synforce cruiser gear oil 80 in their manual? I used to run this in my landcruiser which suffered from crunching and rollover noise even after a full rebuild. It shut it up and shifts were spot on. It may be considered "too heavy" for the falcon box, but couls be worth a shot
  14. Yeah I will definitely being using genuine fluid, but Ford want $69 a litre for it where I am. Im positive I have read that others have been charged $40 a litre through other shops
  15. Actually in the Redlands but Southside would do. I would be able to do it myself in our workshop but just unsure about the warranty issues etc
  16. Just wondering if there are any authorised/accredited ZF workshops in Brisbane? I have been talking to my service manager at Ford about servicing the trans and he quoted $1000+ and claims that the warranty may be voided if the trans is serviced anywhere but an accredited workshop.
  17. Just book it in for a diagnosis. It will only take a few minutes with the guages connected to work out whats going on. But honestly, mist combined with uneven vent temps points towards a low charge on a large range of cars. I am yet to pull an FG dash out to inspect the HVAC unit but if its anything similar to the BA/BF the passenger vents will blow through on end of the evaporator and the drivers side the other. When the system is low on charge only a partial section of the evaporator works effectively. From memory, in BA's this was the end that "fed" the drivers side vents, causing the drivers side to be cold and the Passenger to be absolutely useless . Let us know how you get on. If all checks out ok then it may be dash out for you unfortunately. Just out of interest here is the TSB from Ford regarding the issue with the BA Subject: A/C TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE ACROSS VENTS Models: All BA Falcon & SX Territory Summary: The A/C system may distribute different temperatures from passenger side air vent to drivers side air vent. This may be caused by low refrigerant charge. "If a customer is experiencing a difference in A/C temperature from the driver side vents to the passenger side vents, the cause may be a lower than specified refrigerant charge. This applies to the Manual Climate Control System and the Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control System. There is an internal divider in the HVAC case that separates the airflow from left to right completely after the evaporator. If the system is low on refrigerant charge the evaporator coil will not be fully flooded with refrigerant and the evaporator will get progressively warmer across its surface. The evaporator coil refrigerant flow path is right to left or driver side to passenger side, thus it will be colder on the driver side than the passenger side."
  18. ok so 9.5 +35 rear with 275's and 8.5 +20 on the front with say 245's. Does anyone run this combo in 19" wheels with SSL's with no guard mods?
  19. that's supposed to read 245's on the front and 255/265 on the rear
  20. Even though I promised the missus the G6E Will stay stock............I'm already sussing out wheel options. Im loving the Vertini Magics but will keep looking. Im thinking 19x9.5 on the rear with +40 or +35 offset and 19x8.5 on the front in + 20 I dont want to go too low as I want it to be comfortable, so thinking SL or SSL and maybe 255's on the front and 265/275 on the rear? or am I way off? How would this combo look? Basically I want the rims to remain in the guards, but fill them as much as possible without going to a 20" rim
  21. Yep sounds like the tune has too much dwell which is frying the coils
  22. If the aircon is low on gas it can cause a mist and on some cars, will cause warmer air to blow out of the passenger side ( I know for a fact BA's and BF's do this ) The thump could be the recirc flap moving into position ( this happens when the max setting is selected )
  23. Although comparing mine to the pic just above, the voids in my bush arent exactly top and bottom, theyre slightly rotated around counter clockwise, Probably done by an apprentice
  24. Just slid under my 09 G6E Turbo with 54,000k's on the clock and all good. 3 diff bushes are fine too, although there seems to be alot of fresh copper coloured grease around the bushes and there are signs of the cradle being out at some stage. Looks like Ford must have changed the bushes before I bought the car.
  25. Yeah apparently they have changed the design to rival the Superpro Comfort bushes. Im very interested to see how to new 2 piece design goes on the road
