  1. that picture reminds me of a boat for some reason....must be the angle the gauge is on plus were is your tissue tray thing and cig lighter?
  2. oh never thought of pop riveting it. good idea! Ill laser cut something similar for one gauge pod :D
  3. did you just fold the top so that it screws into the same hole as the tray?
  4. where the hell did you get that?!?! Looks perfect minus 2 gauge pods
  5. Still reckon somebody has a good tissue tray set up....surely cant be too hard? they are universal arent they?
  6. Ive got a tripod already with boost, oil pres and oil temp however want to get a Aeroforce gauge (52mm) which isnt too distracting while driving as it only shows digits nothing like a boost gauge which Id wanna look at while driving. Where did you did the steering column gauge holder from????? There must be a good place that is viewable and easy to install. I thought about laser cutting a plate to hold the gauge in but the plastic tray would need to be cut into.
  7. Has anybody got a 52mm gauge in their tissue tray? Im looking at the tripod with gauges and one down opposite the cig lighter. Info and pictures would be good :D
  8. but back to the question at hand.....can a typhoon be trusted with more km's on it? Or are things like trans more likely to crap itself? I guess its more of a question for the people woh have phoons with high km's
  9. I reackon the following would get it up to 400rwkw Custom dyno tune 60lb injectors High volume fuel pump upgrade High flow metal catalytic converter Turbo wastegate actuator upgrade Turbo wastegate flapper valve and exhaust housing mod upgrade race intake cooler, plenum and piping 3.5" Turbo back exhaust system (incl 4" dump pipe)
  10. Sorry to confuse ya Pazzo. I have been looking at two cars 1 is a blue 06 typhoon which has 130,000km (or127,000km if ya wanna be technical) for NZ$25k and the other is a silver 06 phoon with 38,000km on it for NZ$38. The bionic blue one has been well looked after with a full service history etc. 130,000km for a 4l turbo motor is stuff all for the size of the motor. I mean if it was a 1600cc then Id reconsider I mean really what parts would you be more concerned about breaking with higher km's??? Turbo - recently replaced due to the oil feed problem Pistons/con rods - would be replaced anyway as I want to mod it straight away with the goal of 400rwkw in mind Auto trans - dont know much about the 6spd gear boxes but I would have thought it could be a problem after all those km's
  11. Ok heres the real question. Should a typhoon that has 130,000km on the clock be trusted enough mechanically to buy? It will be going straight into the hands of another tuner - one I trust. Or do these cars lose there "thing" after so many km's??
  12. Ive seen the dyno sheet for it and from what Ive seen from other cars that have been to this certian turner its a pretty common tune... Says 388kw (surely at fly wheel or somewhere far far far away from rear wheels) heres the full reading 770.5Nm 179km/h 4534rpm 388.1kw 201km/h 5105rpm This still has a stock cooler and cross over unit. It wouldnt know what hit it if it could actually make that at the rears... hes asking for NZ$25,000. Other option is same year car, same interior etc etc in a kind of silver looking colour with the following making 380kw at flywheel on 98: STAINLESS STEEL CAT BACK BIG BORE EXHAUST PACKAGE HMS 3O4 Stainless Steel Twin 2.5inch Front Big Bore. 3inch intermediate Pipe & Rear Big Bore with Twin Outlet 2.5inch Tailpipes & Stainless Steel Tailpipe Extensions - Big Mouth Air Filter COLD AIR INDUCTION 75mm THROTTLE BODY HERROD STEALTH COMPUTER MODULE (Can be operated with either 96 or 98 Unleaded Fuel Programs) RACE VALVE SPRINGS BIGGER INJECTORS HI FLOW FUEL PUMP and has 30,000km and wants nz$34,000 starting price
  13. Hi guys This forum has helped me out ALOT over the past which I have applied to my car which is hopefully going to sell this weekend. But now I have a problem that has stumped me. I have a chance to buy a Feb 06 Typhoon in bionic blue (seems a rare colour in NZ) with dark argents. It has the following mods: 60lb injectors High volume secondary fuel pump Exhaust is a full stainless system with cat removed. Its got 3inch pipe where cat was removed and am not sure on rest of size for exhaust 6 x NGK copper nickel resistor spark plugs Full custom mapped dyno tune using exisiting stealth module (98 octane) Its also had a complete turbo rebuild as it had the problem with oil being cut to it. Ive been told its a common problem?? Its also had 2 x slotted 5000 series performance front brake rotors replacement brake surface and 2 x 1 peice slotted 4000 series performance rear brake rotors car has clothed interior overall the car is pretty tidy inside and out. I understand some of the above however cannot understand how the hell it made 388kw on 12psi. Cooler and intake are standard. Does this sound like a good buy? I know it comes down to luck of the draw but Im more concerned about the mods and km's. The mods having been running for 30,000km so far. Please helppppppp
  14. Good point....I wouldnt change badges just not 100% sold on the spoiler, to me it looks funny with the car jacked up on stock springs...... does it create any down force?
  15. I ordered mine the other day and now see there are damaged ones for $17...does this mean Im getting one of those? would rather not
  16. lol , well I have been looking at both. But once I saw this force 6 I was like wow. The front bumper to me seems to be alot better - light surrounds and different insert to the F6. I mean the lip spoiler may grow on me and might not look as odd when the car is lowered. But the charcoal painting of the front insert and rear insert makes 100% sense to me if I was to have dark agents on it - which they basically are but not charcoal.... charcoal rims would match the painted panels and the chrome outter ring would match the chrome side mirrors and light surrounds.....but you have to remember this car is a off silver (lightning silver I think) so that + the similar shade wheels + chrome doesnt really mix in my mind.... you look at that black force 6 which looks sexy as hell, mostly because black and chrome work really well together while we are on the topic of front bumpers does anyone know if the F6 front bumper with its two "side vents" on the insert serve any purpose??
  17. I like the force 6 quality interior, spot light surrounds etc, I just dont like that lip spoiler and the one plain colour paint job. Why is it so bad to have the charcoal colouring on it? If the inserts were painted the same colour as the F6 with the dark agents it would look awesome. The colour coding would match the wheels. The car would look clean and tidy with a hint of performance. I just cant see how you (tim6) can get so defensive over it. Force 6 is 90% of a F6. The changes in my opinion are minor cosmetic.
  18. Wow nice car! very tidy and clean. Its an 08 Force 6 with 20,000km on the clock and they are asking NZ$35,000 for it. It is that silver/off white which I think is called lighting strike?? I definately love the look however would probably get shot if I said Id get rid of the lip spoiler for a 3 stand phoon spoiler. Then paint the under side of spoiler, the rear bottom inset of the back bumper and front bumper bottom insert the same charcoal colour as the phoons have. Then put dark agents on it to tie it all together But one small thing that keeps annoying me about the car is the force 6 badge....does this look cheap to anyone else but me? Some idea and colour was put into the F6 badge so what happened here? did they just spell it out of magnetic fridge magnets?...........but holy that black force 6 looks so awesome!
  19. Just looking at buying a force 6....had a few questions though that I thought someone could answer Is there any real difference between the F6 and Force 6? Apart from the interior and body kit....are the force 6's very rare?? Any got one any pictures of their force 6?
  20. As the fuel price keeps going up and up I thought the other day about hydrogen fuel....has anybody seen or tried to convert a falcon to hydrogen??
  21. anyone else had this problem?
  22. woot woot more south island people I have an 03 XR6t but wanting to sell for 07/08 BF typhoon :D
  23. but I may have to just laser cut some alloy out at work and customise it to fit or find out more about these single din gauge pods.....I had a quick look but cant seem to find one that's just flat
