Hey guys and gals been on the forums a little bit. but yesterday I finally signed and sealed myself a new XR6T Ute in Nitro, hard flat tonneau, 2300 hayman reece, XR sports pack, scuff plates, bonnet protector, Front mud spats and ZF auto plus few other things around the place. now just waiting for it to be delivered in 7 weeks got it for about 45k inc orc and price hike. eligible for the 30-50% back when it comes to tax time too . just a few questions on the Utes if I can. As I will be using this for work I want some better security for my tools. As im sure most people would know, tools aren't cheap. I spoke to the dealer about getting microwave sensors throughout the car. so in the back and front. microwave are good cos you can have the lid open, or off and still be able to set the alarm. works like motion sensors ive been told. so if someone breaks open the lid or puts their hand in while it is off then it will go sound. they want about $1000 inc fitting etc. not sure if that is good or if they are trying to make some money back off me after sale. I will look around. does anyone know or have this kind of security in their ute? and how much they paid and where I could get it. other thing is I want some nice tint. I want about 16%. but im told if I crash and insurance deems that to be the cause then wave goodbye to insurance. so I was thinking of going that "street legal" tint. been told its pretty good. but they quoted me about $595.00 for the tint. when I was quoted about $250 for the 16%. the 16% was quoted from TKO in Victoria park in WA. thanks in advance.

I'll be purchasing a new ute soon. its all bit confusing to say the least. before I set anything in stone I will definitely run it by my trusty accountant. either way I'll buy the new XR6t but just a matter if I get more dollars back to then throw mods at it. p.s. good thread. has answered alot of Q's. the bloody dealers in perth seem to know very little about the whole thing.

furrymuff. I will have to look into it. I spoke to apc again. they say I will be running about 12psi. and will end up with 280rwk's. bloody good for 3k of work. cant wait to get it done. but a little reluctant. dont want to lose new car warrenty.

ahh so that's what they do. thanks for the info. this car will be a everyday driver so I want it to be or atleast look as legal as it can.

sweet. does a bov actually improve performance? or just gets rid of excess pressure. and makes the annoying whoosh. well annoying in my opinion.

hi all. the work I am having done to my fg xr6t ute is as follows; just wondering if this is good to get done first up. or if there are better things to do off the bat. also if price is ok. its being done by jim at APC in newcastle st perth. 3.5" stainless dump pipe (is this a Bov? will it make that noise. not really a fan of it) high flow race cat 4" SCT Performance custom tune box Dyno tune. CAI all up for those mods is $2,957. not sure of output by the end. thanks peeps

how did you manage to get the bulge? when ever Ive asked them for it they've told me I cant because I haven't got an xr8..

I stand corrected. good point. just looked at a few pictures. this will prove to be a very expensive mod :( think I would prefer to spend that on the Kw's and maybe nice set of rims. thanks guys

yeah I know I cant buy one without a fpv Vin number. and didn't think there would be a FG bumper already at a wreckers. suppose all cars can be wrecked. especially nice new ones :D what you guys saying about the headlights? I haven't noticed a difference in them. will have to check it out. thanks for the speedy reply guys

I have just signed the dotted line on a white xr6t FG. cant wait. will be awesome. I love the look of the F6 but just cant afford it. spoke to the dealer and they cant sell me the F6 bumper if I don't have an F6. same goes with the Xr8 bulge too. :( does anyone know where you can get genuine or close to that quality FG F6 front bumper. think only way might be eBay in future. cheers if anyone knows will be eternally grateful

you guys got em at good prices! when did you buy them. im about to purchase one for work. think I might quote your prices and see how I go. I know the prices went up though I think from about Feb. im after pretty well exactly what your talkin about.

im the same. haven't received mine yet. but getting a fg xr6t ute. cant wait. ive come over from the red side. Expensive Daewoo haven't got anything on there range even close to these babies. have to say, when I drove it. it blew my mind completely.
