  1. The New screen doesn't block all the controls you can still use the top line. The holder is the old Tissue box holder, that has been Modified to hold the unit, and we made up a Facia for it. The old ICC Controls the Aircon.
  2. My head Unit is now in and looks wicked I decided not to go with fiberglass as it was too expensive. soo here's some pics
  3. Hey just thought id post a pic or two of how I solved my Hiss Problem, I installed a Pioneer AVH-P5200BT
  4. HI ive bought a head unit and am wanting to install it in my FG UTE under the ICC in the little tissue box holder spot, just wondering if anyone can can help with making a fiberglass surround for the head unit so that it looks shmick im located in Melbourne soo any help would be much appreciated thanks
  5. Oh ok I forgot about cut and polish, hopefully I can just do that then but the paint looks pritty bad though, it got this way because the car was real dirty and some one decided to body slide across the bonnet whilst wearing one of those spiky belts, he did it more than once
  6. Hi guys im just wondering if people know any good paint shops in Melbourne were I can get my bonnet repainted the clear coat is mega scratched up and is matted(not shiny) in some places. if you could let me know of good places and if you have had any experience with them that would be great. thanks
  7. Hey mate the sub boxes are Pioneer that were designed for the slim sub's. The system all worked sweet as for the past year and I have finally upgraded my door speakers to some pioneer tsd 6.5" 2 ways and got a zx200.2 to run them whole audio system finally sounds sweet as. Got the treble back HAHA
  8. Hey sorry for the late reply, I didn't have to use the remote trigger cable because my amp had a thing called dc offset that ment it turned on when it detected a signal from the input, sorry I can't be of help
  9. I Chose to get the 2300Kg towbar from ford turned out to be a hayman reese one anyway, deffinetly good value I rekon
  10. Hey SCATRD ive had my power steering pump fixed 3 times along with the rack and a wheel alignment was done (cause all my tires are unroadworthy!) DiD Ford happen to tell you what was wrong with it? Mine went after having a bit of load in the back and dodgy Ford not fixing it properly.
  11. thanks for the tips, ive used 4gauge cable for both positive and earth so that isn't a problem, I have put a fuse in and it is indeed a fast blow, I tried sanding back the bolt for the earth and it all works fine now I guess it just needed that extra bit of connection. thanks
  12. I measured the connection to the Amp with a Volt meter and the voltage drops right down from 12V or 14v to 8V any ideas on were to earth it to?
  13. Hi all, this is my first post so it may be a little sketchy at times and firstly I would just like to say how good is this forum it's got everything you need to know about anything. anyways.. I recently had the Bass Bug and lashed out and bought myself two Pioneer slimline Subs and a Kicker zx750.1 Amp for my fg xr6 ute This was my first ever audio install and it turned out not to be too hard so heres what I did.... firstly I located a whole in the firewall that I could use to pass my 4guage cable through by chance I found a rather large rubber gromet, that I found a while ago when I was installing another mod, it is in the passenger foot well on the right. I chose to Mount my Amp under the passanger seat, inorder to mount the amp I removed the seat and the Jack to give me plenty of room. I mounted the amp onto a piece of nonslip rubber so that I didn't have to srew it to the floor and so that if need be I can remove it easily The Box's for my subs were just the right length and fitted perfectly behind each seat. I then ran the 4Gauge cable form battery to amp and grounded the amp to one of the seat bolts at the front heres what the wiring looks like. The Blue wire is Positive , all the plastic bits in the door sill and around the seat come off will just a firm pull, after unscrewing two screws here. I chose to tap into the rear speakers from under the dash, they can be found by removing the drivers side L Kickpanel, I traced the wires back from were the speakers are mounted, the rearL are blue and the rear R are Pink, make sure you check polarity with a multimeter before soldering. I then wired the subs up and the result was RIDICULOUS BASS, however I need to invest in a Capacitor because my amp has protection and when it can't draw enough power it cuts out so this would be a good investment, also I am yet to invest in good splits for the doors and 6x9s for the rear then il be laughing. I also installed the bass Volume Contoller that came with the amp so I can easily turn the bass down. The whole Install Took me a Weekend because I had to buy a couple of new tools Any Questions Please ask I have many more photos of the install.
