  1. OP how did you go? DTM Autos in Geelong are more than ok to go to, in fact the only place I'd go to on that side + Aaron knows how to tune a Motecs and has some good 9 second xr6t's under his belt... I'm a Pitlane guy but they're like 150km away from Geelong.

    GTX3584RS

Just to throw a curve ball at you. GT4294 with a 1.15 housing. Drivabilty was absolutely beautiful... won't make more than 500rwkw because it's the smaller frame 42 but with a loose converter it's better to drive imo than a 35 with a car of your weight. A friend of mine has a barra with a standard bf turbo on it motor in his VL and with a th400 and it lights tyres at any speed anytime.
  3. My uncles done the exact same thing as fnqfisher but into a mid 80s F150. Territory front suspension, fg ute rear end, barra270 and zf. He's using an fg cluster retro fitted to make everything a bit easier too
  4. Interested in doing this too. The petrol 4L Titanium is only available in RWD which I don't mind, less weight and they can fit a nice tall tyre on the back so traction will be in no way worse still. I figure it's no harder than converting an FG N/A to turbo? Get turbo, exhaust and intake manifolds, set up a fuel reg and a 2 bar map sensor and off you go right? I'm probably a year away from going down this road but that's what I want to do. The Territory Titanium is like sitting in a FGX G6ET
  5. Popped in here to do some diff research for a mate who has a G6et. He just blew a hole threw the diff cover and a hole through the pumpkin with a stocker
  6. Just for future reference I believe G6ET8U never even ran a 10 depsite 100+ passes and ended up spending most of it's time on the dyno at Bluepower getting sh*t fixed. Thought it should be noted since this thread came up in one of my searches. Wouldn't want anyone to get mislead.
  7. Thanks for the responses. If I were going to go out and buy a turbo I would be buying a 3582 for the 3L which is the perfect combo for an auto and 10's. My goal is 10's in a manual (I'll do my best) but the cars priority is street driving on 98 so I figured the 3576 will maybe just help that little bit for streetability. Most likely a GTX4294r

    xr6 sprint mods

Have you modified an XR6 Turbo before? If not I suggest doing a bit of research first before you do any potential re-sale affecting mods on the Sprint. Do it once and do it right.
  9. I understand..I didn't take into account the effect capacity would have on the efficiency. It just makes sense to me to recycle this turbo and buy a GTX for the FG. Don't want to bother getting it tuned up if it's not gonna work well though and don't want to have issues with more than 20psi through the bottom end so the 3576 seems like a perfect choice for efficiency on the 3L.
  10. What holds the GT3576 back from holding 20psi all the way to redline? Is it the compressor wheel, the wastegate flapper or just the way FG's can be tuned? As far as I know mine hit's 17psi mid and tapers off to redline on my FG. Reason I ask is because I'm considering taking this turbo off my FG and putting it on my VL which will run 19-20psi but need to be able to hold it. Is there a way I can get the 3576 to do this (billet wheel or external gate)? I thought this would be a good place to ask since we're the only people with this turbo!
  11. I clay bar and wax the windows. It keeps them looking like they've never been wound down and no water stains. Just make the wax if completely rubbed off the windscreen before going in the rain.
  12. Check your radiator overflow to make sure it hasn't mixed with trans fluid. Sound's exactly like when my trans cooler milkshaked. If it's not that then I'd look at your driveshaft cv
  13. Nah but can get the intune cooler pipe kit for $320 so still bargain
  14. Hey I've noticed Plazmamn have released this no metal cutting intercooler ($795) which wasn't around last time I was shopping. It looks like a stock F6 cooler but better? I asked them about it and they said it's good for 380rwkw and they use their lightweight tube and fin core. I just have doubts because it's dimensionally the smallest on the market. Even smaller than the autotechnica ebay ones. So just wondering if anyones using one. Plaz = 400 x 380 x 63 F6 = 370 x 380 x 45
  15. I thought spark cut delete was hard on the input shaft?
  16. Comfortably beaten two C63's when I was on 300rwkw. A stock Fg F6 would have more chance from a standing start. That .5 second you lose waiting for turbo when you jump on it rolling would be enough for the 63 to stay in front
  17. FG's let in a lot of noise. You'll probably find that it doesn't drone on the outside. If you get someone to drive it for you. Best option is to change the rear muffler for a better one.

This is shaping up to be a great mod I think bomber! I wish I did that turbo. You HAVE to do a turbo side intake though it makes a huge difference

Good luck with the 76! Best choice. Go for 370.
  20. Spotted a black G6ET [RLAXRE] with quad tips. Doing 30 in a 60 zone, certainly relaxed. Do people still go out Friday nights? Always empty
  21. I saw that fg at Chrysler Essendon the other day. His mate has a VX v6 supercar mockup
  22. Yeah I'm thinking of selling mine and it's so easy to return back to standard and move the parts on ebay but I wasn't not sure if modifications are a good selling point.
  23. Simon acted very hesitant and almost refused to give me a ZF tune without me buying their input shaft. that's a money spin in itself. Imo stay at Bluepower or take the box and the car to Pitlane.
  24. Curious to know when people bought used xr6t's whether they preffered stock ones to ones with mods already done? The same question to people who have sold their t's.
