  1. Firstly a smaller dump pipe with only help low down off boost torque. A dump pipe that is too small will actually increase lag as it means the turbo cant spin as fast as it wants to. A 3" cat seems way too small, especially as you go to twin 2.5" pipes afterwards (that sounds like a strange matchup???). A 3" pipe is still less area than a twin 2.25" anyway! The fact that you dont have a rear muffler will not remove any restriction because it is held back by the 3" cat anyway.
  2. My point is thought even though you have in writing that its insured, I am sure they have some underwriting that the car must be road legal. And without an engineers certificate it is not, so I am wondering what the insurance companies do when people make a claim from a major accident. I did the same thing with Shannons, I got them to approve all my mods and they kept saying that's fine as long as its legal we will cover you.
  3. Yeah same as Shannons, they just say as long as its legal its fine. Which comes back to my question, whats legal? Reading through this link seems to suggest that basically any mod at all like tune, intercooler or injectors etc is illegal until engineered. Falcon XR6 Turbo - Legalities
  4. But its not legal to fit a bigger intercooler is it? (without getting an engineers cert) I mean at least for vic/nsw/sa it isnt. qld you can do whatever you want haha I am sure the insurance people would have someone that knows cars to inspect them.
  5. Has anyone actually been paid out even if they tell their insurance company of mods like injectors etc? I thought all insurance companies had the underlying thing that it must be legal, therefore it doesnt matter what you tell them. Changing injectors for example is not legal unless you go to the trouble of emission testing and getting an engineers certificate etc.
  6. Yeah interesting idea. Only thing is the install would have to be completely hidden. I am not not sure what they consist of? Something like a unichip would be interesting where it intercepts the fuel and spark signals being sent to the engine from the ecu and modifies them. Surely the stock ecu couldnt tell anything from that. You would have to do a really good job of the install so everything is hidden. I just thought this would be an interesting discussion as I am sure there are many people with FG's thinking hmmm to mod or not to mod...
  7. Technically, I am sure if they wanted to they could kick up a stink if something went wrong. Turbocharged systems change greatly with different intake characteristics.

very nice what are you thoughts on the E85?

  12. that's mind blowing on standard internals
  13. yeah I bet it beats most things, when you have traction that is...
  14. Wow that's some serious power standard
  15. HAHAHAAHA this is awesome. Peoples opinion of gas has to change soon!
