  2. Hey guys , Only asking for a mate he's looking for more power from his au na xr6 tick ford. I recommended fitting a modern xr6 twin cam head to his car instead of the current SOHC . Is this possible ?? What dramas would you come into with regarding the intake manifold lining up to the new head and the extractors . Also apart from needing a longer timing chain , would the factory gear line up with the new twin cam head .
  3. Here's a few pictures of a mate's xr6 TWIN turbo setup running 8PSI. Manifolds and setup are home made. I will update when I can get new pics, He might even be on here already.

Thanks for the comments guys, didnt think they would be good on this site. spoke with proFlow they said the pacemaker extractors are thin wall and wont hold up to the heat or weight of the turbo ? I call bullsh*t on this my self they said standard headers would be better? they recon they were going to do the turbo kit the way I wanted to first go around but to be more like everyone else they went for a more normal setup in the engine bay. Tuning vcm suite have let me down and wont support 08 model alloytecs for a while to come so im looking into after market ecu piggy back, can any one recomend a good ecu piggy back that would suit boosted aplications
  5. Yeah I have seen that kit, its punching some massive power but its only set up for vz alloytec's and also I still want twin low mount. so twin t28 are to small?
  6. Hey guys im getting no help any where else so I thought this would be the place to start again. Im thinking of a TT set up on ... wait for it (sorry guys) a ve v6 alloytec. Seems your guys are more accepting of a turbo 6, Reasons for TT , V6 motors aposed to inline, im going to mount them lower where the cats are normaly place and plumb it to a stealth black intercooler than up and into some stock intake parts trying to keep it all standard looking. It jsut seems easier to run 2 smaller turbos than try and run cross over pipes and mounted in the engine bay. I know you guys wont have much experience with the ve layout of engine bay. I need to know anything really like internal/external waste gates what size turbo"s to run for a 3.6L engine that redlines at 6700 Rpm. T28? im thinking for dual setup. My idea is right now I have pacemaker extractors which stop at the cats so I could just make a adaptor flange and mount them there so no need for custom manifolds, im not trying to do a cheap and nasty job but anywhere I can save money is good.

Thanks guys I assume there is a pipe from the turbo to the intercooler I think that's where I was getting mixed up , Im in lithgow mate sort between bathurst and the lower blue mountains in nsw, Im looking at buying the full cross over and ill pipe work now off ebay, Than searching for a secondhand manifold and turbo, get the big parts out of the way , Can I flash tune a xr6 ecu to be a xr6t tune, Reason is once I put the kit on and drive it it will be running really rough wont it ? so if I flash tune it to a turbo it will run better,
  8. I have heard of people running an extra alternator off there tail shaft, maybe u could mount the alternator under the car weld a part on your car ? would have even less strain on your car

Thank you so much mate that's everything I need I can start looking into it cheers Those turbo crossovers the 4 pipes what are they for looking straight on top right is from air box bottom right to intake top left from turbo and bottom left from intercooler? shouldnt it go from air box to turbo from turbo to intercooler and than back to intake ?

Your spot on im not old enough for a turbo but this isnt my car its a friends who just got his full licence and ford under warranty just put a new engine in his ute cause they put the wrong oil in it , so hes not going to buy a turbo engine and do a swap cause it would be putting a older engine in , I just need to know every part needed to do the swap and pictures if possilbe

Yeah checked out that website im looking at staying as stock as possible Checked out all the posts but as im not ford minded im not sure what all the parts are , I know I need a intercooler setup with cross over section and a turbo and manifold. Subjimbo my mate cant sell his ute and just buy a turbo so he needs to do a converstion

Hey guys im new to this forum and I dont even own a xr6 turbo but my mate has a bf xr6 ute one of them ripcurl editions Im after a list of part I need to convert a xr6 n/a to turbo, I have seen other post with alot of good info , but I wanted to start a fresh thread, so if someone could post the parts I need and even a picture so I can just sight whats needed. Im bidding on a bf xr6 cross over on ebay at the moment from a typhoon , this is where the air intake come in and than to the turbo and also the intercooler is this right . Any help would be good thanks He cant sell his ute and buy a turbo BTW so a converstion is needed
