  6. hey I picked up the BF long today and turns out on the Ford engine sticker at the back it was produced 24.09.07 would this mean it is the one with stronger internals ???? Would be a bonus
  7. and I will be running atomic street series valve springs are the retainers going to help me sleep better at night or is the lighter retainer punishing my lifters cheers for the feedback
  8. Well in my case definitely going the right way about it have a mate in the change over business he will be fitting this plus apr head studs haven't put any thought into the oil pump atomic worth with the rrp only looking to run 350 daily safely out of the build pretty much safely support the mods rather then the engine being a ticking time bomb like it was luckily picked up a bf long (not series 2 motor so imagine its the same as the ba block sh!t) going to run that with the stock loop back system safe tune until I have the funds to go ahead and build the ba block
  9. I went to La Trobe Uni for C4C then to Calder Park was abit disappointed that the cruise was straight there down there HWY and that everyone left at a different times if you knew where to go you didn't wait in traffic for longer then 30 mins all up would be good to maybe organise a turnout out from site members next time fun day, great cause calder was disappointing but that's calder
  10. Iv'e worked 2.5 years night shift in Melbourne as a Track Inspector for the YT and 97% of the homeless in Melbourne are people who are mentally ill or impaired not junkies not scumbags yet our government provide's a methadone program and a welfare system for junkies and scumbags and leaves these poor souls who don't have a capability of helping themselves on the street its f*cking disturbing to see these people in this country have to live like that due to a medical condition Im a 25yr old male from the western suburbs with a yr11 pass and even I can see theres a problem how did this happen
  11. cable tie and a catch can keep it all contained well
  12. hey dude had this drama but wasn't so lucky on the pressure test............ you will find that there would have been oil that has found its was to the coils clean that coils dont like being submerged apparently, even with 3 and 6 having pretty bad blow bye I still got another 50,000k out of it at 306rwkw before the welsh plugs gave way
  13. Hey mate had the same situation with my BA had already done the turbo mods 4 inch dump 2.5 twin out valve springs fitted took it for a re-tune at 110k noticed the dip stick was lifting end result of inspection cylinder's 3 and 6 pass lots of air returned it to a low tune not in a position to replace anything as I'am all mortgaged up to the eyeballs now at 152,000 (an another 4spd rebuild) welsh plugs have given way so the plan picked up a bf long block not series 2 for $2200 plan on fitting that, pulling down the BA motor and go from there. Some advice trade it on a bf series 2 like I should have at 110K defiantly worth the 3k to 6k you would be looking at to upgrade Lol This time I swear this is the last motor I change with 2 jacks, engine crane and a block & tackle tied to a tree
  14. http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-engine-rebuild-kits/ford/spool-ford-xr6-rebuild-kit Anyone used one ? or at least the SPOOL Forged H Beam Conrods any comment's price is pretty good,

  17. Start Motor ?? leaking water ?? On that note anything I should be checking on a BF LONG motor before I but that and bolt it in ?? The short of it is I've been ripping apart commodores for years got a ford have no idea considering its a daily drive iv'e had all the work on the ford done by other people (except brakes, general servicing, turbo/dump/manifold bolts) this drama along with passing boost thru the pistons and it being a general BA block Pain, I did a deal with a mate of a mate to sell me a BF Turbo Long ($2400) there anything I should keep a eye out for when checking out the BF Block ? From there I will Attempt to remove the ba block and replace with this one any tips on the best way to do it without a hoist would be much appreciated Excited at the fact that I can maybe rebuild my ba block with a spool rebuild or something never pulled down a ford motor let alone a turbo motor

  20. Just coolant not mixed with oil where's best to start flow heavier when not running could that narrow it down
  21. Hey people car heated up pulled up check the fluid the top bottle was completely empty (topped it up 2 days ago) further inspection I found a flow of coolant coming down the side of the gearbox any idea's before I get home and pull it apart hard to tell if it is coming from the turbo side on the inlet side anything that may point me in the write direction as I have no idea where the coolant is coming from
  22. Hey PPL working on a home kit (rear only) got it 60% complete before I go any further would love to talk to a few engineer's about a few things like the auto levelling laws aswell as well a legal travel limits there seem to be allot of bullsh*t out there and the guy who is willing to engineer it doesn't have the two much knowledge about light vehicles as he works for a truck trailer place
